Never seen before such a fluent literature student as you with such profound understanding. Loved it. Even some of the professors don't come up to match you in your fluency I feel, especially in India.
So nice of you, I hope to continue making relevant videos.
You might have mentioned a few more books to scare the aspirants. I cleared jrf by reading half of the books you mentioned as basic books. I think you are king of literature brother.
Congrats on your JRF, Goutam! I never wanted just surface level knowledge and since I plan on being in academics all my life, I felt it was important for me to read and understand every topic in depth. Moreover, I had also started reading and making notes from my UG. That's why I could read so many.
It would be great help.....if you will mention your books too, so that those aspirants who do not want to go through much books...and able to complete their syllabus from limited sources....😊
@@goutamsharma6312 Hello
Hey Gautam, can you please share your strategy?
@@gitikajain28 Study techniques differ from person to person. What has worked for me may not do the same for you. Yet for your convenience, I would rather share the basics that will help you to crack the nut.
1) Go thorough last 6-8 years question papers for the understanding of nature of questions and the areas that are important to study.
2) Also Go through the syllabus of graduate and post graduate syllabus of some universities like Delhi, Calcutta, BHU, JM etc.
3) Get genuine books on each topics of study. For example: if you want to study History of English literature, you must study A E Albert's Book and Oxford. Similarly, Literary terms and theory will be covered through MH Abrahams.
4) Have someone as a guide who is an expert in this field. A professor of your college or university may help you.
5) Build a smart study technique. Revision and note making are very important.
I am completely inspired by your knowledge over literature and a good command over speaking as well.
Thank you so much. 😁
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYTHello
BTW, you have a great flow of speaking ability
Thank you. 😁
Very helpful and informative video. The fluency with this you explained everything so effortlessly, is truly remarkable!
Thank you so much. 😊
Best online teacher sir ugc net
I love your book collection. Also thank you for this video.
Thank you. 😊
Thank you so much sir
I'm a 2nd year student of delhi University, but we don't have history of English literature in our syllabus.😅
Yes, I checked your syllabus. Although there is no specific paper for History of English Literature, a lot of authors from different ages are prescribed. When you study those writers, it will be great if you can also cover the age from a history book. This will not only help you in framing better answers, but also prepare you for the kind of questions asked in NET.
Bhai... Where have you been?? I just came across this video and instantly clicked. Didn't you have another channel before. Something called Litz? I love your content
Yes that channel was lost due to some issue. Will be posting here now. Glad you found the channel!
Thank you so much dear sir
Glad that you found the video helpful. 😁
I'm from odisha . I love literature . I was interested to do bachelor and master in odia language . But I had to do bachelor in english . Now I'm pursuing my bachelor's degree in English through IGNOU . It's for first time I'm reading and giving exam in english . Before english was reading english as subject only . I was ignoring it and wish to get only pass marks . Now while I'm reading I need to go through dictionary .
My question , how can i develop my communication skill and vocabulary .
You can start by picking easy-to-read books. You can also listen to podcasts/videos and watch videos in English on topics you find interesting. In this way, you will start learning the language. In order to be a better speaker, the only way out is to practice speaking.
Thank you so much for your help . ❤
Anytime! 😁
Thank you❤
😊
Fantabulous 👍.
So smooth.
Glad you liked it. 😊
Very informative video bro❤
Glad you liked it. 😁
Need a guide to make notes 😊
Sure. Will make a video.
@SchoolOfLiteratureYT please do. Thanks
The website bro 13:00 . For ebook its not in discription
If you are asking about the Pelican Guide, I have already added its link in the description.
Fantastic video..... Right on the topic , Nice Sir😊
Glad you liked it. 🙂
Can you suggest some books for history of American literature?
For NET preparation, you can read the history of American literature from various resources on the internet. Books like Oxford Companion to American Literature will not be sufficient but will give a framework and help you look for relevant topics.
Can you tell us how to prepare for Paper -1 .
For paper I, I studied K. V. S. Madaan and PYQS.
What about history of English literature by T. Singh?
I haven't read this book, so I won't be able to tell you anything about it.
Hmm, is that Arden Shakespeare collection in bottom right corner???
Yes. You have sharp eyes. 😂
How to cover drama, poetry & fiction?
You can go through the syllabus of different central universities to figure out which ones you need to focus on.
Previous year papers. That's the only way to get a good hold of syllabus when it comes to multiple genres. Prepare not only the questions but options as well.
For paper 1?
For paper I, I studied K. V. S. Madaan and PYQs.
You cleared NET even before your batchelors Degree? Isn't that a fact that we are able to appear NET when we are in our masters?
No PG students only appear
You can appear even in your undergrad but the certificate won't be valid since you need to complete your Master's within two years from the date of publication of results.
Today is 28 November and my NET JRF exam is on 1 January can you please tell what and how to study in these days that would help in qualifying the exam.
Subject:- English literature
With just a month left for your exam, I would suggest you to not take up any new topics and revise your notes. You can also solve PYQs to get an idea about how well you are prepared. Hope that helps. All the best!
Sir, can you please explain how to apply for NET with only a Bachelor Degree .
NET without a Masters' degree wouldn't be valid but you can take the exam for experience.
What happened to your last channel
I lost that channel due to some technical issues.
Hi, May I have the list of all books for paper 2
Subject english
I have mentioned all the books in the description.
Can you please guide to clear jkpsc lecturer exam
I haven't appeared for any PSC exams, can't really help you with that.
Can i give exam while studying in bachelors I haven't completed graduation yet? Sir please reply
You can, but if you qualify the exam, it will not be valid. You can take the exam just to get an idea about it.
Which online coaching is best fot net english or i should start with self study
I cracked the exam with self-study only. I will not be able to recommend any online coaching.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT ok thanks but how to analysis the pyqs.. in this re exam the qsns come from different levels plzz help me to know the important portions

Can you recommend any good book for topics such as indian aesthetics and research methodology and methods in english ?
For Indian aesthetics, you can check out Indian Aesthetics by V. S. Seturaman. For research methodology and methods, you can go with C. R. Kothari.
Incredibly resourceful!
A video on revision strategies would be helpful. Also, dates & chronology are a nightmare for me. Any tips?
I am glad the video was helpful, and thank you for your suggestion. Will surely make a video soon. You can try to get the chronology questions right by associating texts/authors with certain events/works/authors.
But why? What's the use of clearing jrf or net in english?
JRF makes you eligible for fellowship during the first five years of your PhD. When you clear NET, you are eligible to apply for assistant professor positions at universities.
@SchoolOfLiteratureYT but doesn't the fellowship bind you? As I you are disallowed from having any other sources of income throughout the duration of your pdh
Yes, while you're drawing fellowship, you cannot have any other income.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT is it just income from academic jobs or really just anyone kind of income?
It is clearly mentioned in JRF guidelines that you can't have any source of income while drawing the fellowship. For me, getting the fellowship was important because I wanted to do my PhD without any financial stress. However, despite qualifying for JRF, you can choose not to take the fellowship but in my university, for the first three years at least, PhD is full-time.
Thanks bro, I just want to know if there is any book of English Literature in which I can find the detailed Summary/Analysis of best works of best writers?
I haven't come across any such book. But there are a lot of websites where you can find the summary and analysis of major works.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT Thanks.

Could you suggest any books for Greek and Roman literature?
For NET, I wouldn't recommend reading from a book for Greek and Roman literature. It would be better to take help from online resources.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT Thanks!
Sir mai BSc bio si aur MSc botany se ki hu to kya net jrf English letrature se kr sakti hu PhD ke liye eske bad job milegi ya nhi please reply 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You can appear in UGC NET only in the subject you have done/doing your Masters in.
Sir how you prepared for 1st paper?
I used the book by K. V. S. Madaan and solved PYQs.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT thank you sir
I woulike to kno how mucti e it took you to read allthese books ?
I had started during my graduation itself, so I can't tell you an exact time frame. But I made sure that all of them were completed before the NET exam.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT
That's great really ...I have come to understand that many people have cleared NET without reading all of these ...but I agree you that those who love knowledge they need to read all of them...and I would love to know it all and then I get confused where to focus as of now
It is best to begin with the history of English literature and slowly make your way through all the topics. Learning should be a lifelong process, although I do know that it gets tough during preparation.
🎉🎉best video ever ❤productive and to the point thank you😊
can please guide me how should I start reading these book
Please tell me the sequence with durations of book how long it will take to complete all these books
And guide me the best strategy as I'm in first year of MA english from ignou ,and I have completed my graduation in ba programme (eco+history) so i have not much knowledge about english course .so how should I start preparing for this exam ans I want jrf in my first attempt pls guide❤
You should begin with History of English literature. Once you have completed and made notes, move to literary criticism and literary theory. You can begin with Peter Barry and move to M. A. R. Habib. After that, you can solve PYQs and try to figure out the areas where you are lacking. This will be a long journey, so just be consistent. All the best!
Thank you so much u are so humble 😍😍❤️👏👏👏
Being in a job we can't read these much books .. please list out must book for clearing UGC net JRF
If I had to pick just a few books, I would say go through Edward Albert, Perer Barry/M. H. Abrams. Also, when you start your preparation, you will begin to realise which areas you need to focus on and give more time to.
Dude you over studied 😅
I studied half of these books and cracked NET JRF
Congrats on your JRF! I did not want just surface level knowledge and since I plan on being in academics all my life, I felt it was important for me to read and understand every topic in depth.
@dinaro9476 Can u please guide me how did you crack jrf ?? Bcz i really want to crack the exam but i don't have a bit of knowledge for literature... Being a house wife i cannot secure that much time for reading so many books...then how can i go through everything needed for cracking jrf??
Hello
Ratta marke bol rahe ho aisa lag raha
no,not at all
Excuse me, UG students can't appear for NET exam .. only PG students r eligible
You can appear even in your undergrad but the certificate won't be valid since you need to complete your Master's within two years from the date of publication of results.
I appeared for UGC NET before completing my Graduation, just you have to fill masters appearing, I did it for my experience
U belong to general category or which?? I find this category worthless bcoz of high cut off... For Dec I haven't sufficient time so it is possible to complete syllabus what u suggested in this vedio?
I had started during my undergrad. I don't think this strategy will work in your case since you have limited time.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT yes unfortunately in UG nd PG 1st year I don't know about what is NET exam . in PG 2nd year I came across through a online coaching but failed to crack this time.
