What happens is that around 10 pm, if I'm remembering right (it could have been 9), you leave whatever room you're in and stand around the balconies. Someone starts with "O" and then everyone joins in. People sing whatever parts and harmonies they know, and it turns into this. We even all raced back after the official concert to sing it one last time, and my mom said it was the best part of the night for her.

America stands up for all good people around the world, even if your not American. So no matter what country your from this anthems for you as well. Some of the most patriotic people that I know weren’t even born here. Middle East. Central and South America. Europe. Africa. I’ve seen all these people rival the best as far as patriotism for the United States. They come here. Adopt this nation as there own and dive head first into everything about this great land. We are all immigrants here. 99% of us aren’t Native American. The country was founded on people coming here making it what it is today. So since we all fall under being immigrants, this anthem is for everyone. As long as you believe in freedom.

The song is based on a poem written by Francis Scott Key as he witnessed the Battle of Ft. McHenry outside of Baltimore during the War of 1812 when Britain tried to retake her colonies. It was the decisive battle of the war and we all know the outcome. The building they are singing in is surely a John Portman designed, Hyatt Regency. Their classic interior atrium is the hallmark of his design. The best I have personally ever seen is the Hyatt Regency Embarcadaro in San Francisco.

Hearing the national anthem always brings tears to eyes. And pride to my heart. God guide us to Right side of the boat. Veteran 1971, Army. Thank you Courtney.
Goosebumps every time I hear it
Courtney, u should come to Louisville Kentucky and be a part of this in person, it is AMAZING and will fill you with pride and patriotism
I actually had the privilege to be in the room while this was recorded and it was truly breathtaking.
i come from a military family and lived not to far from louisville. everytime i hear this version it brings tears to my eyes
As a Kentuckian, I'm proud that they sang this.
It’s not pride, it’s more gratitude to be in America, to stop and acknowledge those who went before. ♥️🌹🇺🇸
As an American this shit Charges my batteries to full charge 100%
Love your emotion and respect for our anthem, come join us anytime Courtney. People think we hate immigrants and thats not true this country was founded and built by immigrants. We welcome legal immigrants with open arms, its just the criminals and freeloaders that dont want to come in legally and for the wrong reasons that we dislike.
I want to thank you for loving my country like you do so many here don’t and it’s insane we have had our problems and still do but I still we seee a beacon of hope in the world don’t listen to the us media we are not a racist nation we had issues and we still do but we love all people and all cultures and want everyone to be all they can be when they come here and yes we freed more people through history than anyone … yes we’ve screwed up badly sometimes but our heart is genuine …. I’m from Delaware the first state to ratify the Declaration of Independence … love new zeal and read a lot about it
I've seen this before, but oh my chills!!!
People of Kentucky!!
As a New Yorker... I am proud to be in the same country as you and I respect you even more than I did before... I'm crying it was so freakin beautiful 😭🥰
Courtney!!! YOU were absolutely speechless!!!
Woah! So Beautiful! I wish I had been on the ground floor there listening to this performance.
That was absolutely beautiful.
Awesome! I'm from Kentucky. :)
Yes, it was. And with the way things are now in 2021, it's heartbreaking. Tears just flow for this beautiful country and it's Patriots who love it still. Even though there are some that are trying to destroy it, it still stands strong and we will overcome this cancer that is in power and we shall prevail!!!!!!!!
God bless the USA ands that beautiful flag and anthem. Won't lie, got teary eyed as I always do when listening to that.
This is a beautiful version of our Country's National Anthem.
Every time I listen to the national anthem I stand proud and sometimes I to choke up as well and if I am driving and it comes on everyone that is with me must not speak and I let them know not to as a sign of respect I to served in the United states army and was proud to do so I love this country and will never disparage it in any way .
I’m so proud to have been part of this!! We did this every year at our hotel
i like the Anthem as a solo....BUT I LOVE it as a collective expression of devotion
I have seen it before, and I always Love hearing them sing our National Anthem. It still brings tears to this old Sailor's eyes. Courtney, if you like the US Military videos, you might want to watch a Navy Retirement Ceremony. You have my permission to make a video of you watching my Retirement Ceremony I have posted on my channel. The Navy Retirement Ceremony is a very special way the Navy says Farewell to a retiring Sailor.
My grandparents escaped Romania during the iron curtain years and have always installed in us to be grateful for the place we live in , the freedom and safety we have ..people today need to remember that there still are millions today who don’t have what we have … I’m a super proud and grateful American
I look forward to these videos every year, and. in my opinion, the 2013 is the best version of this.
I am 80 years old, born before we entered WW II. I was almost brought to tears hearing this performance.
Courtney, my dad was also in the Navy but during WWII and he loved New Zealand.
Hello Courtney, much love from Canada.
I got Chills!!!! Awesome video Courtney. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍
I've stayed in this hotel many times in the past. I hope one day to be able to hear this live.
