I feel that it's a shame that, beyond a hint of it in KotM, none of them decided to continue the Showa version's cackling. It made it sound like not only did he know what he was doing, but he was reveling in the destruction and chaos he caused, like a kaiju version of the Joker.

​@@GodzillaGuyG2004funny enough they actually do use the showa cackling effect, thanks to the over the top music it is mostly drowned out but you can hear it with the music muted. It comes in as radio interference in two scenes, the opening Ghidorah awakes you hear it coming from the radio, and at the stadium you hear it as part of the rising tension coming from radio interference just before Ghidorah lands. My theory was this is how they communicate with each other, cackling on a frequency so high it can only be picked up as subtle radio interference.

I love that they took the time with the KotM Ghidorah, to really take advantage of the CGI and their access to sound design. It sounds the closest to the original, but takes it and slaps several million dollars on it, to make it sound truly alien. On top of that, with the CGI, you can see he ENJOYS what he's doing, or when he's angry. He's the most emotive of the Monsterverse reptile/lizard types. He's a prick, all three of him, and I love it.
