- I received a call from the city that there was a family in need of help. The mother and father had both moved in with their daughter due to illness. Sadly, mom passed away. Dad is struggling with early onset alzheimer's. The poor daughter is trying to care for her father and take care of two properties. As you can see from the video she was having trouble keeping up. She did have someone mowing the property, but they suddenly stopped and it quickly became very overgrown. I was glad the city reached out and that I was able to help this family. Watch the video to see these AMAZING before and after pictures at the end. Also, check out this HUGE grapevine that completely consumed everything under it. MASSIVE. What was under it you ask? Check out the video to see :) Along the way, I had a few unexpected guests stop to chat. Also, on day 2 my son made another appearance. I certainly appreciate his help.
Words cannot express how much appreciation I have for you in the help you gave us on the yard. I was wonderful to see my grandma's rose bush again. We have received an offer on the house and it will be sold soon and fixed up again. Exactly how my parents would have wanted.🙂

She plans to let it get healthy and then give roots to her siblings so everyone can have some of it as remembrance.
You can see the owner took pride once in their yard. Lots of heart getting trampled on in the front yard. 😢
I'm sure this woman had been sick a long time. How could her family let this property get this bad? At least could have cut the grass for her or hire someone to help them clear the yard a little at a time.

Great transformation you and your son did on this very neglected yard. Always keep your equipment locked down and when you lay something your working with, keep your eye on it. Maybe the owner of her Moms house and hire someone to clean up the junk everywhere and then put a 4-sale sign on it. If they cannot keep it up they could sale to someone as a fixer upper. Bless you and your son for two day of working in the heat to make life better for these people. And by the way that Santa I'm sure will be real good to you and your family this upcoming Christmas.

There were constantly people walking by. For a back street it was pretty busy.

wow what a difference! you 2 did a great job. I like that the stuff from you edging you carry away instead of just putting it in the yard and mowing over it. And I think you're the only one using a gas chain saw which I'm glad to see too.
I will repurpose it if there are holes, but the owner already had a large compost in the back yard.

I appreciate the care shown for her Mom’s flowers. I enjoy when the clippings are picked up too. Thank you for helping her. Losing parents is just so hard and exhausting.

My heart goes out to the woman - my mother is in long-term care with dementia. She doubtless has enough on her plate just taking care of her father would be exhausting. You and Levi did a terrific job of clearing it up and I'm sure it's a load off of her mind not having to keep worrying about it. Great job both of you! PS - Levi has a gorgeous grin!

Huge difference. Looks great. Just a suggestion. You may want to use a tarp to pile on the cuttings so Levi can drag it and doesn't over exert himself making so many trips in this heat. Too bad you didn't remove the junk around her house. Is Levi your son or a helper? Thought you said you just met him.

The rose bush, looks worse for wear, it needs a good pruning it will grow a lot better next year if it is, the whole place looks better for the clean up

We didn't, I'm not sure it would have made it through the summer though, it was in pretty rough shape under all that cover.
Where do you put all the grass and limbs etc. I see Levi trot around the back.
There was a compost pile in the back corner of the property. Otherwise it goes to the local compost.
