I want a dash camera that records the sides of my tractor trailer and the front as well. Any recommendations is highly appreciated
An actual Real video on Truckers Dash Cams
Thank you for the amazing video!
Thank you for the support!
Is there a dash cam that does not have any kind of G sensor or shock sensor? The truck I drive rides really rough and constantly triggers G sensors filling up the SD card with just footage of potholes
Very gd. U presented suggested features then reviewed the best cameras with those features. For a person unfamiliar with dash cams, that helps a lot.
Thanks for watching!
best semi truck dash cam 2021
@BlackboxMyCar this video is 4 years old, update please?
Great job on the video👍🏻
Thank you :)
Wow nice to see Tat express watching other videos! I watch u guys in Texas! Great vids
I do agree that suction cup aren’t the best for trucks, but I can have a different truck every day of the week, so suction cup is what I need... What would you recommend?
Suction cup on a heavy, flat metal plate?
I recommend you change your company :)
What is the best camera and the best way to connect a front and rear camera on a 26 feet long-box-truck?
Hi Ariel, if you're driving a box truck, then we'd recommend looking at a BlackVue DR750S-2CH IR Truck as your rear camera will most likely need to be installed externally.
Do any of the dash cameras have wireless backup cameras? I actually want to use the second cam as a blind spot camera
Hi Jim, unfortunately not. We did cover it in our article on our FAQ Knowledgebase here: support.blackboxmycar.com/article/0fzwx8p7up-can-you-use-a-rear-dash-cam-as-a-backup-cam
Here's our answer:
"Technically, it is possible by using the app viewer to preview what your rear dash cam looks like to see it in real-time, but it is a tedious process in setting that up every time. We would not recommend this as that is not what a dash cam is used for, and we would recommend getting a separate backup camera for that purpose instead.
With the right setup, dash cams and backup cameras can work very well together in optimizing the protection you get on your drive."
Hope this helps!
do you have one that will delete data every so often and keep recording? I need it to be 1080p and used with my android phone, please and thank you
Hi Mehice, we're assuming that you're talking about the Loop Recording feature (where it overwrites old data with new when it's full), all of our dash cams offer this functionality. If you're looking for 1080p, we would recommend either the BlackVue DR750S-2CH / DR590W-2CH or the Thinkware F800 PRO. They all have Android apps as well. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com.
Do you have a dash cam that has a app where I can have the videos uploaded to my phone
Yep, if you look into the brands that we offer, ie. Thinkware / BlackVue / IROAD, they all come with phone apps (iOS and Android compatible) that you can use to transport videos from your device to your phone. Let us know how we can help - info[at]blackboxmycar.com.
So when I am on loop is it recording all the time
Hi there, if it is equipped with parking mode, it will record as a function of motion detection or timelapse (if applicable) - it will then loop over, starting with the earliest footage. If it records in a loop with no parking mode present, it will record all the time and similarly loop over the earliest footage
great video 👍🏽 but I missed the samsara ai dashcam. how do you rate this camera?
Thanks for watching . Unfortunately, we haven't had a chance to review that dashcam so can't give you our thoughts on it.
Its legal to record cab audio?
It would depends on which country you are in, so you would have to check with local regulations
I would like to have help just with GPS and those cameras that helps with backing up. Do you have it? How much?
You're looking for something that's a back-up camera with GPS? We don't have a product that only does these two features but a dash cam with Wifi features can be used as a back up when using the live view feature from the app.
BlackboxMyCar thank you
How much would gbs would be necessary for the full 24 hrs of video? Cuz most otr team truckers drive 24 hrs nonstop.
For a front only dashcam, you would want to select the highest capacity which is 128GB for most of our dashcams. For example, the Thinkware F50 will get about 35 hours of recording time. The BlackVue DR750S is a very popular dashcam for truck companies, which can be found here: www.blackboxmycar.com/collections/blackvue/products/blackvue-dr750s-1ch 128GB with this unit provides about 30 hours of recording time.
BlackboxMyCar can you manually delete the whole storage from the camera after say you've been driving for 30 hours and you don't need the vid, in order to keep recording the next 30 hours?
@@spearroad get a dash cam.with loop feature it will always record and when it reaches its max it starts overwrite the old footage for a nonstop video
Are there any dash cams that DO NOT record in cab audio?
Hi David, the dash cams that we carry, including all of our best sellers like the BlackVue DR900S-2CH, Thinkware U1000, VIOFO A129 Pro and the IROAD X10 allows you to switch off audio recording within the settings.
We’re can I buy one of these

As a 40 years haz-mat driver, I can say with full confidence, that an inward facing camera will reduce the the number of experienced qualified applicants by at least 50%. The newbies (where would the industry be without them), will soon get pissed. Just because you can, doesn't make it right. Think. Has the insurance industry and a pissant tech company going to ruin your company for a short term savings? Think!
We use a special kind of clear double sided tape for the GPS cradle and for the WiFi dongle. We’ve never had a truck that had a problem. If your interested I can send you a picture.
Please share
Would have been nice to include prices. Now I'm going to have to find another video that does include prices
Hello Rob,
Thanks for the comment.
Our prices are not always set in stone.
For that reason alone, we do not list up prices in videos as they can go up or down.
Try this new thing called giggle or something like that.. you type in a question and it will find the answer for you.. it might be big someday . Check it out
JustaDude 😂😝😝😆
Us drivers NEED dash cams WITH at least 3 cameras. One camera for the windshield and two cameras one for the passenger mirror and driver side mirror. Clearly this channel doesn’t know what truckers want and what we look for in Camrose you have to talk to a real truck drivers not someone sitting in a office by the water cooler talking about desperate housewives
You pronounce Semi 'Sim-Eye' btw
TexasGTO I've heard
Sem Eye
and
Sem E
but never
Sim Eye
