@@drewm1chael hi Drew, I just finished your HBO Max Special Red, Green, Blue and it was a amazing special. There a couple parts where I had to pause or bury my face into my hands because I was laughing so hard. There were also parts I had to pause, because some things you said, I've said to myself either outloud or at least thought to myself & at times it was if you spoke directly to me or asking me something. I have depression and anxiety, single, and There are things and issues in my life I have or don't necessarily want to confront and like you mentioned; I use humour to deflect, cope, or ignore those issues. I was entertained, but more importantly at the end of your show, I felt somewhat changed and felt i wanted/ needed to make some changes, maybe go see a councilor and confront and dig into those things. Because "how great can something be if it's built on avoidence?" Sorry for the long ranty comment, but I wanted to thank you for making me laugh, thank you being open enough to share and thank you for authenticy. I'll be definitely will be coming to see you when you come back to Denver comedy works.

I love this. I just about gave up and you taught me that I’m not insane. I finally learned not to blame myself for the abuse I’ve taken in my life. I already hate myself for saying this because I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me. I just want to let the comedian know that what he’s doing is great.

The hearing loss bit is so relatable. I couldn't hear shit my whole life, needed like 3 surgeries as a kid. When you have hearing problems people assume you're just not listening.

I have a good hearing, I still prefer watching movies with closed captions. Sometimes actors just mumble their lines, sometimes the acoustics of the TV might be a little weird, some of the lines in the movies might be so quiet that you wouldn't hear them unless you were watching in a theater. I especially prefer the captions designed for people with hearing loss. Those can even help you notice sounds that you wouldn't hear otherwise.

I totally understand the captions thing as I'm hard of hearing myself but I'm also in a wheelchair and people reall DO tell you the three steps are no big deal, some people are like "I can just carry you" like no, get the fucking ramp. It's people's thoughts about disability as a whole that's the problem though of course hearing issues are an invisible thing and people tend to assume it's not that bad.

Spirit animal is actually not acceptable, if you talk to any native american. As a white person, stick to patronus, or muse, or something that isn't cultural appropriation.
But I think closed captions should always be on. It doesn't ruin the movie. Your "friend" is a dick. I wish they were displayed in movie theaters. I ruined my hearing going to concerts in my early 20s, and I frequently miss bits of what they're saying. Normalize captions, damn it!
Also, you're dead on (take or leave the pun, it's just coincidental) about the suicide jokes. As someone with depression and occasionally ideation, it is cool to hear suicide jokes. 🖤
