Sold my collection around 5 years ago. Regret it 100% now that I’ve started collecting again. I think love for Funko is very much alive, any doubters are just upset they left
I agree it is a buyers market and funko is overproducing but it is mainly due to the economy changing the first thing to drop is collectibles/non essential items.
especially once that video game comes out in a few months! I've got a collection I'm considering selling.. I've got around 400 with full Google Sheet inventory. PPG value shows around 6k last I checked.
I’m personally selling my Funko Pop collection because my love for the figures have just died down and I don’t enjoy them as I wish I could. So I’m reselling so at least they can make someone happy 🎉
Great video John. Very informative. I'm currently in the boat of looking to downsize part of my collection to make room for some other things down the road and you gave some great insight into a lot of questions I had about doing so. Thanks again for the information.
I have a bunch of pops I don't care to have in my collection anymore.. basically downsizing. My biggest issue is: I live in a small town in Canada. Postage is crazy even to ship within Canada.
This is an awesome video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge not just with this topic but your other informative helped me when I started collecting almost 2 years ago in February. Great job brother!!!
I appreciate the tips. And I love that you guys buy collections from your followers and friends. So glad u guys have bought from me. It has allowed me to buy other grails or invest in my house
This was some good info as we have some stuff we have thought about selling. I have never sold but have bought a lot from Mercari and always figured I would use them to sell if we did. I was always worried about figuring shipping but we Have recently traded some things in the community and was told about Pirate ship and I am not sure if its one of the best things to use for shipping but It was easier than I thought and made me feel more confident if we did sell some pieces. Awesome video!
I used to collect Funko pops when I was younger but as I got older I started to lose interest but the issue is over half of my Funko pops don’t have the box anymore so 8 years of collecting them went down the drain as I only have 300 dollars worth of pops that still have the box when I would have had in the thousands with my collection
Thanks for this video! I love Funko pops, but I have decided to keep my most priceless pops. I have sold twice to you John and I will do it again. Well I am about to. I have my eyes on a few Disney older lines that I would like to add to my Disney collection.🥰 I used to sell on EBay, not funko pop, but other items and it became a hassle due to the fact that I was selling under value and most of the time with free shipping. People still will complain and wanted another discount, so I decided to stop selling.🌷🌷🌸💐
Awesome video and tips. Trying to sell off my whole collection and would love to know of some collectors who buy whole collections. Stores in my area are trying to completely low ball on buying the collection. Offering less than 35% of value.
John I wanted to ask if maybe you’d do a short about some lesser known Star Wars funko pops and maybe your opinions on them. Looking through my collection I have pops like the Darth and Jedi Knight Revan as well as Darth Malek. Within the Star Wars community I feel like Knights of the Old Republic is just so underrated. Wanted to see what odd Star Wars funko pops you have and what you think about them!
Great selling tips John. We have something like Mecari where I have sold some of my pops. It’s not easy to sell pops here in Norway, but I will try sell some at a later date. Thanks for another great video. 👍🏼😃And my alarm is set for PFO time since I’m still not completely over covid and still home from work.
Great vid! However sometimes having to sell one’s collection may not have to do with downsizing, losing interest in that collectible, or making space for pieces that are being released in the New Year. There may be an economic reason as to why you may have to sell off your collection. In such cases you do regret having to part with those pieces you loved and treasured. I had to face such an issue and sold off an entire Comic Book collection from my childhood. Had to completely leave that hobby behind, until last year that spark was reignited in me. Had I not sold off my collection so many years back, I could have bought a house with today’s value for those books!
Another great video, John, full of informative and wise information. As an international collector, some of the platforms you mentioned are not available but of course we do have other equivalents. Enjoyed listening to the tips. Looking forward to PF0. Have a great week. 😀
Think costco and Sam's club have the cheapest prices on bubblewrap at least that's what I've heard. I'm still using all my bubble wrap from all my mystery boxes that I've opened
@@Slapshotpops thank you 😊. Our biggest seller is Star Wars. Our slowest is Anime. Thank you for the offer of your tokens for mysterygrail. I cleared them out and shut down my account.
@@omarmohtady3002 outgrew it. Priced as collectibles, but don’t hold resale value most of the time. Way too many options to actually collect a certain type of style.
Information was very helpful. If I am interested in only selling to local buyers on Mercari by using the delivery service can this be done. I entered Where it says list an item, but I couldn’t find an answer to this question. As I want to sell pops in lots, the buyer will save on transportation costs if I can just sell locally. Thanks again for mentioning the option of using this local delivery service. I wasn’t aware of this.
Good tips. I've been successful selling some of my pops in Marketplace on Whatnot, have attempted Mercari but haven't had much success. I still have more I need to put on there honestly. As far as the "collect what you want and don't put others down" goes the same goes for beanie babies. A lot of us originally collected beanies and some still do. We don't care that they aren't "worth anything " we just like them. Why insult people for their collection?
I just found a number of beanie babies, still in the original packaging and have no idea what to do with them. Most of them seem to have originated from McDonald's happy meals. Any idea where I can find people that might want them? Though, I might have to keep Antsy the Anteater, he's kind of cute.

Great Video, sold bulk of my collection to a local shop. Sold on Facebook, Mercari. Focusing more Star Wars older pops.
That’s awesome! I had a blast collecting the older Blue Box Star Wars Pops 🥳
@@Slapshotpops I don't have any of the Blue Boxes. Like to get some of that line

Has anyone tried to sell as a vendor at a festival or anything local?
Great video on how to sell and get rid of pops the right way.

Speaking of bubble wrap...idk where yall get yours from But my walmart had the bigger rolls on clearance for $7. Just FYI 😊
Oh man, we ALWAYS need bubble wrap! Thanks for the heads up Brian!
@SlapShotPops absolutely. Always need to get it cheap when you can. I bought 6 rolls lol

Loved the video. I'm a collector but almost feel bad about it due to the negative talk nonstop on Funko. Makes me kind of sad.
Totally done collecting. I wish I could sell my entire collection ASAP. Online takes way too long .

I’m trying to sell about 30 or 40 pops right now on marketplace but not having much luck
I'm one of those people who sold off a majority of my collection and now regret it.
