Great video explaining the benefits of Samsung Knox ... From a hardware and software level. You've become my go-to for EVERYTHING Samsung.
Let's clear up a HUGE misunderstanding- Privacy and Security are NOT the same thing. 14:38 nobody is questioning Samsung's security. They do a good job of locking down their devices. However, privacy is a whole different topic. They have been caught selling user data to advertisers. Knox makes it harder for their competitors to steal your data, but that doesn't stop Samsung from collecting it themselves. They are literally using knox to lull people into a false sense of security, while their data ends up in the same ad network it would have with any other OEM. Once your data is sold, it doesn't matter what phone you're using.
Exactly
Amen
for sure that’s what I’m looking for a device that offers both
@@myqaveli GrapheneOS is the go-to for security in the "android privacy" space. If you want a privacy based ROM that is a bit more flexible, CalyxOS is the next best choice. Some may consider Graphene's security overkill since it does impact performance and functionality a bit. Unfortunately, both options are only available on a limited number of devices but as long as you're using a somewhat current Pixel device you're good.
i moved to apple for this reason but miss my android
Apple Fans: But there isn't an apple logo and propaganda to safeguard against VIRUSES & SCAMS 🤡🤡
BUT WE HAVE SAMSOONG
Thank you for these informative videos.
I'm new to Galaxy S series and Samsung in general.
I'm learning a lot.
Thanks Chris. Thanks for being along for the journey so far
Nice informative upload as ever.
I never got the Apple waffle on security, I always thought it was a marketing ploy with them, and I never had an issue with Sammy security-wise going as far back as the S3 about 10 years ago.
I'm sure that goes for millions of others.
Absolutely! That's why I wanted to do the Knox video, because Apple make it seem like it's only them
@damianwojcikiewicz3951🙄
@damianwojcikiewicz3951 I have S23,and A73 too, I never experienced it.
Thanks for the video brother, from the ones that requested it
Thank you so much for your time ❤
Dammm.. I never knew any of this. Heavy info. Thank u veru much
Great video! It’d be nice to talk about how Samsung manage apps tracking and creating a profile of us to send ads. If there’s something Knox can help with.
I do not want your ads or anyone else's.
Stop forcing it on me and others. It is: Disruptive. Rude. Offensive.
In my space.
Ads have crossed the line.
Nice video! Great info for clarifying how Knox works. The Nordpass sketch is terrible but hilarious, keep it up!
My old Samsungs have knox too and let's just say I've had many things safe for a long time coughs btc long time holder, holding until all hairs white.
That was a great chat! Well done n thanks for the info..
Thanks mate 🙏
Great job. Always enjoy your content.
Very well researched and explained. Thank you!
What sucks is that people only want to see "whats new and great about the new phone". So when Samsung talk about Knox, they often go on snooze mode not realizing how big, great, and important Samsung Knox is. I just saw Apple's WWDC, and people are now praising Apple for their security, but Samsung has already been doing it with Knox.
Awesome job as always, Daniel! 🔥
Personally, I really enjoyed knowing about that new security feature pertaining to Samsung Cloud on One UI 6. Will definitely be turning that on once it arrives for me.
Yeah it's a really neat idea! Wish stuff like that they would advertise more.
@@techwithbenefits Agreed, they definitely should!
Despite many improvements done by Samsung to protect its Galaxy devices, it's still inferior to Apple's security. The thing is, you can still root Galaxy device even if it's locked with a password. Once it's rooted, all data inside the phone is accessable. Only Carrier locked devices can't be rooted. It's an Android limitation and Samsung can do nothing about it, for Samsung to solve this , it come up with "Secure Folder" which its an extra layer of security on top of Knox, and its impossible to access whats stored in Secure Folder even if the device is rooted.
You can't actually, FRP lock will cause your device to bootloop unless you unlock the bootloader. The option for that is called OEM Unlocking under the developer options in the settings app. Unless you know the password, you can't unlock the bootloader or access developer options if these options aren't already enabled. And If you reset a phone while a Google account is signed in, next time, you have to type the password and 2FA options connected to that google account to unlock the phone after a reset.
You explained about Knox' SECURITY features, NOT it's PRIVACY. In fact, I'm a Samsung's power user for a decade and it's indeed pretty safe against 3rd apps, but, at the same time, it's a privacy nightmare. You just can't block Samsung, Google, Microsoft, Meta or Amazon from being malwares. I'm trying to cut ties with those big techs for months and we can't disable their data-gathering without bricking your phone.
And let put things straight: we don't know if China will do anything with the data they collect outside of their borders. But Google? Samsung? The CIA??? you know for sure they are going to mess with you, even if you are a US citizen.
USA have been spying on their own citizens for years. They know you more than you know yourself.
Is there a way to get Knox secured phone resetting after forgetting the PIN code?
Good to know. Very well explained. Tankx 👍
Thank you 🙏
Privacy 😂
Awesome video!
My brother is still under the delusion that Apple is so much better for security. Literally only brings up a single case from YEARS ago where Apple wouldn’t release a girls messages to the cops. That’s literally the only case he ever brings up. It’s annoying
Thamks for explaining it so well
my friend managed to get access to the camera 24/7. Knox is good. The problem is that apple has the same, google too etc. at samsung is according to my opinion the problem port forwarding. Why is it there? it has nothing to do there.
How does it compare to the Titan M chips on the Pixels?
Im not entirely sure how it works, but I got theft protection, and after a few days, i could enroll in knox. Appearntly, there's a management server at samsung or somewhere that logs it if you buy theft and loss
Bought phone before flight from the shelf with cash, came back and forgot the PIN code.
Thought I need to reset the phone....
Can't do a thing as can't remember PIN or entered it incorrect.
That is how great it is when you buy a phone and it becomes a brick...
Samsung 👑🏅
nice informative video , but if knox is so so safe why do we need antivirus as well ? .
we have antivirus?
Thank you sir for trying to teach us. Anything I say. Is Not in regards to you. Except the thank you.
There was a news that Samsung cloud service isn’t available any more. How about that ?
@TechWithBenefits - Took me about 30 days to do full research on products and features in order to facilitate my abilityt o full switch from roughly 14yrs from iPhone and Apple's Ecocsystem.
THANK YOU for all your informative and lively video content. I see you as a Content Creator and its refreshing to have a technological person on youtube that can succinctly relay helpful information. Subscribed and looking for more.
PS Would you consider a video specifically targeted at iPhone Switchers and iPad Switcheres that have used Samsung's Switch app in order to properly consolidate and most iCloud and iPhoneData (Pictures, Videos and Documents) into the proper native Samsung file system of folders? Please!
Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏
I do actually have that exact style of video planned. Just trying to get the timing right on putting it together!
@@techwithbenefits SWEET JESUS! Looking forward to this with great intent! I figured you'd have already had such a video or already keen to getting one ready.
I happned across your channel when a youtuber had you featured when he was switching yet still had another iphone for use (quite typical and less obviously stated across a serious of the "top liked/followed" UA-camrs that the youth usually follow.
You sir are a Content Creatior ! SO although I don't subribe to his channel I do appreciate his introduction, since we both are learning from you.
PS: The sound you make on your outro's is that from a Koula bear?
@deepin2u haha no kot from a koala bear. Just a sound us Aussies make when we are having a good time. Very casual expression of joy really!
Oh wow. I'm curious as to what video this was now! Can you link it please?
It's morning here in Australia and this was a very nice comment to wake up to. Thank you again 🙏
@@techwithbenefits Hey mate ... found the link: ua-cam.com/video/4gJtBUZvwno/v-deo.htmlsi=LqQ6FuOuSlcvnY0G
You're featured at 4:13 in and sorry it was a Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra review where you gave some pretty stellar tips, that's when I started looking at your videos along wiht a few others to see the bar level you've set.
Once I saw the mediocre reviews, from others that really tried but just appealed to the common non-tech userbase to more tech involved I started looking at the Fold 4/5 but cost wise was too much along with use case. Ultra was just too Ultra for me at this time and the S23 was the sweet spot.
Cheers.
Thanks for the video.
Thank you 👍
They need hardware key as secondary option through lockscreen
Love your videos 🤙
Hi, can you make a revision of this video with a comparison with apples cybersecurity system.
My Tab S9 Ultra is always scanning for malware and stuff from Samsung Knox
My major wish is for something like the end to end encryption on a purchasable cloud disk like google drive. So we could have like 5TB of space to backup whatever we wanted to from the phone, share between our logged in samsung devices but only we have the passcode. Any skuttlebut from samsung on purchasable cloud space we can store encrypted file stores on?
You can definitely back up using smart switch to a physical storage device with encryption. But yeah a full cloud disk end to end encryption like what they've done with Samsung Cloud would be great
@@techwithbenefits the downside of physical storage device is lack of cloud access and lack of any real app with universal accesss (Linux, windows,Mac, Android) since boxcryptor got bought by dropbox. Vericrypt KINDA works for andoid but really needs root to shine. And no fast cloud access. :(
@@shibuy4 Yea, tried that. Unlike boxcryptor it doesn't allow you to cache local copies of select folders when you make the vault on a cloud service. So it's slow as hell to open things on a device.
Intivio Technologies Group is a proud Samsung Knox Partner
Are you going to do a dedicated video on Samsung Browser?
Im side of Samsung......!!!
I was wondering would secure folder on samsung protect ur data from third party user. For instance google play stopped me from using samsung wallet. Due to them taking info like phone calls message photos and voice recording. Would all the data inside the secure folder be protected or would the data in that been taken as well
So for example, in order to get my financial data secured, do I need to put my banking app into the knox safe folder? I think I dont get it 100% how it works. How my phone knows which data is important? Thanks for the video.
it's kernel level. if it's in your phone, it's safe
Could you provide the link to the Samsung list of phones and their security (seen at 13:19)? Thank you.
You can just restart your device. If it says secured by knox then you have knox
Bro my tab A7 hasn't recieved one ui 5 event hough the company has promised.plz help bro 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
cool one!
Hai, I want to ask you about my HP was stolen and my HP was secured by Samsung Knox. What are the chances that Samsung Knox could be hacked? Please notice my reply. Thanks in advance
I'm confused sorry, your HP being a laptop? How was that secured by Knox as it's not a Samsung product?
@@techwithbenefits uhm sorry, I mean HP is handphone not HP (a laptop)
Samsung Knox is so great that it locks tour phone and renders it useless when you forget your pin....
Now you have a brick that you cant reset by any means to get back in use. And need to buy a new one.
If it is so good. Then went is it that my phone is continuously hacked and censored ? Because it is only meant for a business. You could care less about anyone not using their phone for a business. Because we paid for it. It is my phone.
this is why invest in Samsung knox
In your next video can you please say "Shrimp on the barbie" - thanks.
People who like custom ROMs and root: our mortal enemy
Samsung protection is so powerful if you forget your own pin your fucked
I think Samsung has advantages .....where Apple has disadvantages.....!!!
Its like two sides of a coin....based on OS .....!!!
I hope that what explains perfectly fine for people who knows bothe aides of coin...!!!!
Android security (when optimized) > iOS security
Can it be tracked without internet connection
Yes
Let’s say I’m streaming from a site would I be able to get a virus?
👍🏽
Risk 🤣
Dang, you know your sh!t
Where do I even begin. A security researcher discovered that Knox used to store device PINs CLEARTEXT. The S line of phones have been hacked (S21, S22, S23) multiple times. There are hundred of articles about Samsung and their unsecure phones on the web, look them up. Knox offers the most basic security features compared to Apple & Google. Cringe snake oil ad btw.
"Hundred of articles"
Where, buddy? You're the one pointing the issues out. Surely you can provide even one on your own?
@@techwithbenefits lmao deleteed my comment, ur really butthurt.
@liveyoung100 i didn't delete any comment? It's still there
@@techwithbenefits stop playing fool with me, you deleted my comment with all the articles u were asking for. It was up for many minutes before it magically dissapeared.
@liveyoung100 mate I'm sorry but I genuinely didn't see it. You're either lying or deleted it yourself to make me look bad.
Either way I did nothing 🤷🏽♂️
Knox is joke it can be cracked people on xda showed many time
Link please
So what you've described is how you can bypass Knox on your own device... Knox is a platform designed to keep other people out of your phone...not yourself...but nice effort!
how dose that translate with google who likes to monitor your habits.
Good question, Google can't be trusted
