- These are 3 theories that i made about Kopa and Kion ecounter. They are based on my own opinion and perspective and I DO NOT claim them as canon. Hope you'll enjoy it :)

My theory is that Kopa after long years in desert finally return to Prideland, but he doesn't wanted to be king. Instead of that Vitani left with him to the desert, where they had their own pride of desert lions. Then Vitani and Kopa had two cubs, Theo and Zia.

I love the theory where Kion brings Kopa home. I bet that one of the things that would get Kopa to return to his family at Pride Rock is if Kion knew how much Kopa and Vitani really love each other, and he would tell Kopa that Vitani is worried about him and misses him. That would really help Kopa to return to return to the Pride Lands and reunite with his father Simba, his mother Nala, his sister Kiara, and in time, Vitani as well. And after all, Kopa getting to survive Zira's attack him just proves that Kopa is not the one to not get the last laugh.

The story of little Kopa is very sad. After surviving Zira’s attack, not even his father talked or remembered him anymore. In my opinion, he didn’t come back to pridelands.
Julia B.P he never did and funny thing kopas death was the reason zira and her pride was kicked out in the first place and in the lion guard it was retconned in a fight with simba and zira. My theory is kind of a mix. I think Kopa lived and lived by the deserts where kion walked through. Kovu and Kiara never saw him because you have to travel out a little bit. Kopa sees kion and thinks he is attacking an innocent animal and he fights kion and they soon figure out what was really going on. I think Kopa never new what the lion guard was. He wasn't around when scar had it and kiara didn't even know it so why would he? And who that's not all but imma stop now. 😂❤️

my theory Based on mixing both 1 and 2 is:
kopa does come to the pridelands with the aid of kion,
and rather than kion leaving , as the first theory suggests
my version of the second theory basically is that, kion would take kopa in, and simba and nala would agree with this idea
and both of them, given that they are brothers, would each be allowed to take in lionesses of their own choice to expand the pride
My theory is he was attacked by zira and thought to be dead.... he grew and thought everyone had forgotten about him he returns one day and he meets kion but runs off to make a pride with vitani

Because my own theory is that after he returned to the Pride lands,he didn't just met Kion,but he met Vitani and he falls in love with her and they lived happily each other.

My theory is the same except Vitani doesn’t reciprocate his feelings because she’s gay, and in a polyamorous relationship with her lionesses. Kopa get angry cries but is taught by his sister to respect women and appreciate gays. The end :)

My personal theory is that Kion, now king of the tree of life, welcomed Kopa into the kingdom when he came for healing. And then led him home to the pride lands where he saw his family again. And, Kopa had a family with Vitani and helped her lead the guard as the smartest on the Lion Guard.
Smartest added by Ono becoming the smartest on the Lion Guard in season 3.

Er, you forgot something crucial about Kion: He's the king of the Night Pride and mate to Rani now! None of these theories could remotely work if Kion goes back.

I did not yet read any theories that anyone else might have posted so if this is similar to someone else's theory it is not intentional.
This Theory builds off of Theory #2 Kopa escaped Zira, but fled the Pride Lands. Very injured. Kopa grew to adulthood (likely having to scavenge for food due to his injuries) and after yeas of searching for a way to treat his injuries. he finds his way to The Tree Of Life. Kopa explains his situation (not mentioning any other names) to King Kion and Queen Rani (Who Have now grown into Young Adulthood). Kion (Due to Kopa's Name) immediately suspects that this Kopa is his supposedly dead Brother.
Kopa is then treated and eventually healed of his injuries (but not his scars). During that Time Kion gets to know Kopa the Two become friends and eventually Kopa tells his whole story. Having his suspicions confirmed Kion tells Kiopa of his own Parentage and that they are in fact Brothers.
Kion then convinces Kopa that they should return to The Pride Lands, because Simba And Nala will be Thrilled to know he is alive. Kopa reluctantly agrees.
When They reach The Pride Lands and everything is explained everyone is thrilled at Kopa's return.
At Different times these things happen separately afters the celebration
Kiara offers to step down as Heiress to The Throne, but Kopa refuses as Kiara has earned that right.
Vitani feeling ashamed at what her mother had done begs Kopa's Forgiveness. Kopa tells her not to feel any responsibility over her mother's actions.
Eventually Kopa And Vitani fall in Love and start a Family Together

I like this theory more than the others in this comment section. It has common sense. I want season 4 to be like this with only 20 episodes. The last 5 episodes can be about Kopa spending some time with his siblings and new friends.

I think theory number 2 sounds pretty good. Of course, if he could recognize Kion`s Lion Guard mark, he would have to have heard of the Lion Guard before. I actually never heard of Kopa until I found something on UA-cam about him. Since it was the Lion King, I watched it. But yea. Number two makes sense. If he was before Kovu and Kiara, was he before Vitani? I think she was older than Kovu, but younger than Nuka. Any ideas?

Kopa is alive but still hurting and he hears about the tree of life and meets his brother and sister-in-law. Kopa is healed from his years of pain. He stays at the tree of life for a while. He soons asks Kion about his parents and Vitani. While at the tree of life, he meets the night pride healer Nirmala. He takes a liking to her. She gives him tasks to accomplish. Once he's ready. He
farewell to the Lion Guard and the Night Pride and heads to the pridelands. The king and queen our elated and cried tears of joy when they see that their son, who they thought was dead, is now alive. He reunites with Vitani who found love with another lion. Kopa is sad. He stays at the pridelands where Simba and Nala tries to cheer him up. Later, Kopa travels to the southern part of the Continent and meet a queen lioness. He falls in love with her and becomes king.
Some of it makes sense, kion leaving when kiara and kovu met then coming back years later. There’s an episode in the lion guard when kion comes back and runs into vitani,kovu, and kiara. He’s confused because he thought they were enemies then he finds out about the love so yeah
In a fanfiction that I wrote says that after Zira attacked Kopa, Simba tasked one of the lionesses of the pride to escort Kopa in finding him a new home away from the pride lands, and after much searching finally found a older male lion who was happy to take him in. He raised him as his son and after many years Rafiki finds Kopa (after the death of Zira) and tells him it is okay to return to the pride lands, Now being a young adult. He asks his "mentor father" to return with him because they previously didn't have a secure home. They all return and Simba immediately recognizes his son. When Kopa explains who has been taking care of him (I named him "Kiro") Kovu immediately recognizes THAT name. Turns out the lion who had been taking care of Kopa was the father of Nuka, Vitani, and Kovu and had been living out away from the pride lands after Scar exiled him years ago.

Well since I don't want Kion to win anything, the 2nd theory seems like the best. It would also be great if Kopa and Vitani were friends as cubs, then when he returns to the Pride lands she's overwhelmed with emotion at having her cubhood friend back.

Kopa's death being the reason Zira and her followers were banished as well as Simba being over protective of Kiara has always been popular with the fandom, but that doesn't mean he has to be dead. They could all think he's dead but Zira could've dumped his mauled body into the river and walked away thinking he's dead. But he survives and lives on until something happens to bring him back home, in this case being Kion.

Knowing his own experiences on his own and how protective simba is of kiara and kion there is no way simba wouldn’t go searching for kopa
And If he ran away when he was young he wouldn’t have been old enough to learn about the guard so how could he have recognized it
I say for Kion instead of meeting Rani. he could of reunited with Kopa his brother. Kopa could of been taken in by Queen Janna and Kion comes and he recognizes Kopa from Rafikis paintings but doesn’t know where he saw it
He was attacked but Zira didn’t notice that he was still alive and he grew up and returned and he was noticed by Kion and he was followed by Kiara,Kovu,Simba,Nala,vatani and the rest of the pridelanders and vatani noticed it was him and vatani and Kopa had Cubs together like kovu and Kiara.
Kopa should have been king though Kopa was a lot older than kovu and kiara

My opinion after Kion becomes Rani’s partner and he is king of the tree of life Kopa goes to the tree seeking help and they meet. After Kopa hears the roar of the elders he realizes that Kion is from the pride lands. Where Kopa gets Kion to agree to go back to the pridelands and explains everything there. (Kiara is also queen by then)
My theory is kion accidentally enters kopa's territory and then kopa attacks kion but suddenly he sees the mark on his shoulder and does not attack him
And then he tell kion that he is his brother and them kion asks him to return to the prideland and he accepts the offer because the place where kopa and his family lives does not have enough food and then kopa moves to the pridelands with his family :)

My problem with all of them is that Kion didn’t have the mark of the guard anymore. My problem with the third theory is that Azad led them quickly and safely back to Pride Rock.
I'd go for 1. It seems to make more sense for the story in the future. In my opinion, at the end of what you said on 1 Kion brings Simba to meet him and they would hang out to heal Kopa's scar and pain. I knew for sure that the cub in lion king one looked more like a male cub and not kiara. I was really shocked at how disney said that it was Kiara. They need to make Kopa canon and have a story of his own.

It's just my theory.
Birth:
Kopa was born just after the battle with Scar and the restoration of the PrideLands. (Proof: The End of the Lion King 1) Simba let Zira live in the Pridelands, which was a mistake. Simba didn't know that Zira was his "mate" and that she had "cubs with him."
Kopa was the first son of Simba and Nala. Nuka also existed at the time. Nuka was still a cub when Kopa was born.
Friends:
Kopa has never seen Vitani because Vitani is the same age as kiara. So all the theories that Vitani and Kopa saw each other when they were cubs broke down.
"Death":
Zira wanted revenge, and that's why when Simba wasn't paying attention. She tried to kill Kopa, but Kopa survived and ran away.
Simba found out and banished Zira with Nuka.
Vitani and Kovu:
I don't think Zira was mother of Vitani and Kovu. Chumvi and Kula had Kovu, but Zira stole him. Same with Vitani. Vitani's parents are Tama and Tojo, Tojo died in battle.
Kiara and Kion:
Kiara was born probably after the banishment of Zira and her pack. You all know the story of how Kovu and Kiara met.
Simba has now been careful with his daughter so it doesn't turn out like Kopa (proof: When Simba and Zira meet for Kovu and Kiara)
Let's remember Vitani is still older than Kovu.
Kion was born when Kiara was instructed by Simba not to go to OutLands.
Kopa:
Kopa returned, but until Kiara and Kion were adults (proof: The End of the Lion King 2) and Kion was already living at Tree Of Life with Rani.
Kiara was the queen and the Kovu king.
There's a theory about how Kopa met his family.
Vitani was with her guard, and her brother and King Kovu went to explore the lands.
Here they saw a lion (Kopa) who was skinny.
Kovu took Kopa to the Priderock, where Nala recognized him.
Unfortunately, Kopa could no longer become king.
Kopa stayed on the Priderock, where he found his future mate and started a family.
This is my theory.

Kion Gave the mark of the guard to vitani at the last episode of season three. Next after Kion’s guard lost the mark they got the Night Pride Mark. So Kion DID lose the lion guard mark

The third one could have happened but instead of fighting kion he could have just told him to leave and when kion tells him to come home he simply remarks I am home and leaves with the hyenas
My theory is that Kopa was found by Zira who still wanted him dead and Vitani jumped in the way of her killing him and Nala sees and is happy for her son's return Simba didn't recognize him,Kovu had also tried to kill him.
My opinion is that Kion has cubs and he finds Kopa during the evening. But kopa was blinded by Zira and Kion asks Nirmala to heal Kopa so he wasn’t blind. Kopa mated with Vitani and had a cub named Pamo and then another cub

I think Simba and Nala had Kopa, but... one of two theories apply;
1. Kopa was born *after* Kiara and Kion.
2. Kopa was the firstborn of Simba and Nala, but... he was murdered by Zira, thus when Kiara was born, the title of 'first born' passed to her, enabling Kion (born in the same litter) to become the next Lion Guard leader, and thus The Lion Guard and everything is canon.

My theory is that as a cub, Kopa gets attacked by Zira. When Simba and Nala find out about this, they have Kopa’s funeral far away from the pride lands. What they didn’t know was that Kopa was in a coma. When Kopa wakes up he noticed that he wasn’t in the pride lands any more. And because of this, he attempts to get back to his home. After several years, Kopa is an adult lion still trying to find his way home. One day he hears a rumor about a lion who becomes king of the tree of life after retiring from being leader of the lion guard in the pride lands. Once Kopa hears the word “Kion” in the rumor he is shocked. He saw Kion as a replacement as him and every one forgot about Kopa. He decides to change his mind about going back to the pride lands and instead go to the tree of life as his revenge to Kion.
In the theories, it is stated that Kopa was best friends with Kovu and Nuka and Kiara was already born before he got killed or ran away

Kopa was living in Three of Life and Kion sees him. Kopa sees he is the New King of the Zone and challengs it. He fight fight Kion and later... Kopa sees Kion's Roar and told him he is from Pride Lands too. Kopa told he was to bee king but escaped because of a girl named Zira. Kion told Kopa he is Simbas son too. Now he returned to Pride lands with Kion and Become King.

I think kopa found the tree of life and is defending it since then.
As the lion guard left to the pridelands kopa is coming wif them, but after about a week living at priderock he decided to go back to the tree of life.

Of Coruse, Kopa would have to be alive during Kion’s life, and it would make Simba not be so over protective of his own cubs because he understands that they’re just trying to brave just like him. But as Mufasa once said “I’m only brave when I have to be.” So Kopa, Kiara, & Kion understand what their grandfather means.
My theory
After Kopa's disappearance, Kiara was born
And a month later, Kion was born
We all know what would happen to the two lions
Kion, being the Greatest King of the Tree of Life, decided to go explore the world a little bit, temporarily leaving his King title to Baliyo. He explored Parts of Asia, Greece, Rome, and so on. He decided to return after a few months. He was near the Nile, then he saw a random rouge lion, not knowing it was his longlost brother. He looked hungry, thirsty, malnourished. He felt pity for the rouge lion, he decided to bring him home to give him some food and water to drink. He went hunting for a bull and gave the dead bull to the rouge. The rouge ate like he has never eather in his life. He thanked Kion and for some reason, couldn't know where to go. The King asked him his name. After saying his name, he decided to go home *again* after like 2 days. His vivid memory led them home less time than before. Little did he know, that Simba and Nala were *dead* . He asked Kiara where his parents were. After hearing the tragic news, he broke down, crying. He said that he now cannot allow his brother to them. Kopa, shocked to see Kion, who is twice his size cry, started to remember the names Simba and Nala. He said to Kiara who he was. Kiara decided to go bring Kopa and Kion to the Lair and have Kion explain the history of the pride lands. "The King and Queen firat bore a son, named Kopa. He was an adventurous cub. He went to the outskirts of the Pridelands, to the Outlands, where he was attacked by Zira, and was left alone to die." Kiara realized who Kopa was and hugged him dearly. She showed him to Kovu, who was teaching his son. Kovu happily introduced Kopa to the Pridelands, with Kopa saying he knows this place. Kion, staying there for a day, decided to go back to The Tree of Life and reclaim his King Title from Baliyo, whom which he never cared and never wanted to be King.
I think the first one is very relatable to Simba's story running away from hyenas and surviving and growing up in another place not wanting to come back sounds perfect.
My theory is that copa is actually nuka.
This makes sense since nuka is a bit older than the rest and that one day copa went exploring in the out lands and was kidnapped by Zira but was left unrecognizable by Ziras abuse so that is why no one recognized him

My theory. Kopa was simbas first born. And future king, he met his friend one day, vitani, adopted daughter of zira, before kopa was born simba rescue zira and her lionesses and let them stay in the pride. Kopa younger sister was born later, it was kiara. Vitani became a big sister too, she got a younger brother kovu (adopted), now she have two brothers. Then zira killed kopa, but she loved scar mire. When simba saw that zira killed the future king, he decide to exile zira and her cubs with her lionesses in the outlands. At first vitani didnt know kopas daeth and didnt see the reason why simba exiled them. But zira explained her daughter what happend. Vitani was heart broken becouse kopa was her best friend and she was with him since he was born, she loved kopa more than anyone on earth and secretly was in love with him. She cryed whole dsy and hated her mother zira, becouse she kill kopa, her true love.now that kopas gone king simba asked rafike: who will be the future king now? Rafiki show kiara to the kingdom. When kiara grow as a cub she met a friend, it was kovu. Vitanis younger brother. But simba rescu kiara from the cub. They met eoch other in future and fall in love. (Kiara had a younger brother kion) so kovu was now the king and kiara the queen, ziras lionesses vitani and others were now welcome at the pride.she didnt love any lion beside his childhood friend kopa, but kopa was alive and returned back to pride rock. Vitani hug his best friend and go find another pride together where they can role, luckily, the found a pride but it was much smaller that kiarars and kovus. It was jungle, not savvana, pride members werent only lions, they were chetahs jaguars tigers back panther and lions of corse. They had kids 3 kids. 2 females and 1 male. But male cub sadly died when it was born, so. Two girls are left to live. Jana and Kali.

I think 1 or 2 idk I think kopa haves a family but cant Hunt and he run into kion and they don't know that they r brothers tll kion convinces kopa to come back to the pride lands and 6 days later when they return simba tells the whole story about kion and kopa r brothers and Kiara is a bit confused but simba exposed her too kopas family is welcomed to the pride lands and they all lived very happily together xxx that my story hope u like it xxx keep the good work up 😊

and for my own story I think kion when he heard the news that zira was attacking the pridelands
kion, his lion guard and the night pride comes to the pridelands and helps simba and the pride to face zira and her pride when kiara and kovu came another lion appears out of nowhere and tells his father simba to stop fighting as soon from that moment simba realizes that it was Kopa and kiara and kion knew that they have a long lost brother for the first time and when zira fell in the river they came back to pride rock and kion gave his lion guard to vitani and becomes king of the tree of life and rafiki weds Kopa and vitani. That's my theory

You should mix Theory number one with another theory saying that Kopa found his own Pride but it was that evil Pride that Zira came from The Pride took him in and raised him to be their next leader and so the current leader that Kopa sees as his father wishes to take over the pride lands and that's how kopa meets his family
In real life, lions kick their sons out of the pride all the time. So, that's the realistic theory: Kopa was getting old enough to challenge his father and Simba told him to go start his own pride. I think either he succeeded or, the angsty option, he joined the outlanders and died in a skirmish with the Pride Rock lions. That would explain Simba's closed-mindedness toward Kovu.

I feel like Kopa's 'death' is why Simba's so overprotective of Kiara. Kion can remind Simba and Nala of their first son. Though Kopa wouldn't likely recognize Kion because he had never heard of Kion and he wasn't either concived or Nala's womb by his death. I do believe Kiara is a few months older than Kion so he would likely recognize Kiara but Kion seems to be younger than Kiara.
So I just came up with this after watching this, but my theory is that once he left the pride lands, he ended up somehow finding the tree of life and got healed by the animals there.
He could have possibly been stayed there to be the new king, and helps protect the tree of life, and maybe he met them when Kyon and his friends came to get healed as well.
My theory is that kopa and his mate, Vitani, start their own Pride named the Sandy Pride and Kopa will probably leave his own pride to go and check how his family Pride after all this time. Then Kion is about to leave when he spots a lion. The lion is kopa and he recognises the paw print. Kion is Kopa’s little brother! I could go on for hours, because Kopa will come home with Kion and meet his other sibling, Kiara and Kiara’s mate, Kovu and their kids. Simba and Nala are so happy that he’s here but he has to go tommorow. After the encounter between Kopa and Kion, they always met. Simba went to the Sandy Pride and after, Kopas family will go to the Pridelands.
5 years had passed since kion decided to leave the pridelands to go back to the tree of life to be a part of rani's pride and become king. And kion and rani have Cubs. But then one day the white owl (forgot her name) told king kion and queen rani that there is a strange lion heading up the pass, who looked hurt and injured. Kion, rani, and the night pride when to take a look but, that lion was kopa and his leg was injured. When they took him to the tree of life kopa explain who he is, where he came from, how he got an injured leg, and how he survive Zira's attack. Kion asked why he didn't returned to the pridelands? Kopa said that he did not want to returned because he feard that if zira knew he is still alive she will ultimately killed him. Kion never told his long lost brother that zria had completed her journey in the circle of life. Kopa stayed at the tree of life to be healed. When his healing was completed kion finally told him that he can go back to the pridelands because Zria is dead. Now hearing that zria is no longer around Kopa now wanted to go bacl let his simba and the rest of tbe pride that be is alive. However he was lost and it was up to kion and his friends to help him get back to the pridelands and will protect him on the way. They finally brought him back to the pride lands. When they arrived the Vitani's lion guard was patrolling the pridelands when they saw Kion and kopa coming. Vitani ask Kion who's the strange lion with him. When Kion told Vitani it's kopa and they hugged. (Because what we all know is that Vitani and kopa fell in Love) when they went to priderock Kiara and Kovu are now king and queen. And I don't have any other ideas for what's last.

I prefer Theory 2 "Kion finds Kopa and they come back to the Pride Lands". I bet that one of the things that would get Kopa to return to the Pride Lands and reunite with his family is when Kion tells him that Vitani is worried about him and misses him a lot after when Kopa reveals how much he and Vitani have been in love with each other. Then imagine how Vitani would react upon seeing Kopa.
Here’s a nuther Siri that mixes the first, and second ones you’re suggesting. What if not only Kopa was able to return to the pride lands? Instead he took his new family with him as well? Then not only would Kopa be able to see his family again, but his parents will get a chance to meet their grandkids as well.

I think that ikon was coming home and he saw a lion with three scars on his chin not knowing who this lion was he used the roar and injured him but Napa herd it and recognized Kopa and let her long lost son live in the pridelands

I must say, how they managed to fit the Lion Guard in the movies so many years later was really great.
After kion and rani go to the pride lands to see kion's family that see a lion (kopa) and kopa thought that they would hurt him but simba and nala where visiting some animals who lived near the place kion kopa and rani where they heard growling and when they got their they recognize kopa and he goes back to the pridelands and marrys vitani and they all live happily ever after the end
