I am a senior software developer from India, I earn 170k , and pay taxes. My wife is an RN she earns close to 115k. We are proud to be Canadians. Over the period we observed mostly uneducated Punjabi are hijacking the immigration to Canada. We feel the burden. We need immigration, it should be highly skilled immigration, not uber drivers or refugees. Blame the government authorities for failing to implement/execute the right immigration policies.

No, we need a complete ban on immigration until the country can catch up. The sheer number of immigrants coming to this country is unsustainable, we cannot house, feed and give proper medical treatment to millions upon millions of newcomers. Our infrastructure has already been collapsing and this out of control immigration is making it so much worse. Culturally, we cannot assimilate millions of new people, all we're doing is creating more and more micro-states inside this country that resembles the countries people are fleeing from. At this rate, we are headed towards one of the largest social fractures in Canada that I've ever seen. It won't get better but worse, so no, we don't need immigration we need sound economic policies that will lower the cost of living. In essence, we need to make sure that the NDP and Lieberals never get back into power, ever again!

I was wanting to retire back in Canada after working in the States for many years. I looked into housing prices, living costs, healthcare and taxes and determined that there is no way I’m going back. The Canada of my youth is long gone. FJT.

This needs to be said, when I lived in Canada in the 1970’s, Canada had the 6th most productive economy in the world. As of 2022, Canada had fallen to 18th. Canadians need to realize that this is the death of the middle class. It will take decades to fix, if it can be fixed at all. I live in Halifax, and can say the flood gates have opened here. Just one year, and it's very noticeable now. I work next to an immigration center of some sort and watch busses full get dropped off daily.

I have one point to add regarding the housing crisis. If we consider that one million people arrived this year, with approximately 600,000 of them being students, I find it hard to believe that any of them can afford to buy a house. It is already challenging for current citizens, not to mention the remaining 400,000 who arrived on non-student visas. So, who is flooding the market? Is it investors, business owners, or perhaps the result of ineffective government policies and lengthy permit processes that delay construction?
Shouldn't these issues have been considered before making statements in 2019-2020 about increasing immigration quotas? There's a saying that if you put 50 black ants and 50 red ants in a jar, nothing will happen, but if you shake the jar, the black ants will start killing the red ants, thinking they are to blame, and vice versa.
The main question to ask here is: Who shook the jar?
Not a lot of Canadians are aware of what USA Senators are recently concerned about: that Canada has quietly moved from taking 1k to taking 5k GAZA refugees per month. This year is going to be worse than the last, no doubt about it. Due to poor investment decisions that I would not have made if I hadn't been so concerned about my portfolio, I lost a significant amount of money last year. I do think billboards would help. The more local citizens publically come together the better. Canadians have been far too passive for many years out of being polite. Now that this is really affecting our lives financially, mentally etc we're becoming angry and fed up. I am a Canadian citizen who came to Canada in 2012 as a student from India. I work with people with disabilities, pay my taxes, improve my English language skills, and take good care of my neighborhood and my fellow people. As an immigrant, my goal has been to accept the new culture and contribute to this country. Because of the influx of new immigrants especially the punjabi immigrants who transplanted their culture to Canada, in the last six years, I am now scared to go out and participate in the community because of the prejudgment and nasty looks I get from people around me. It's hurting my self-confidence and self-esteem.
I think the damage is done, and there is no way around it anytime soon. I have respected this country and accepted everything it has offered us, but now I'm at a point where I'm hiding from people around me.
This happened only because of the nonsense immigration strategy of Justin Trudeau. He will pay the price for what he did to this country.

The youth in Canada don't have a chance in hell of starting their lives with every entry-level job being taken up by non skilled immigrants. Let alone the outrageous rent prices. Forget starting a family when they can't even afford to move out of their parents house.
