A lot of these demos remind me of the horse that supposedly could answer simple math questions by clicking its hoof a certain number of times, but it turns out that the horse was just really good at reading people's body language to figure out when it should start and stop doing hoof clicks.

I love how AI seems to be becoming smarter and more creative every day but it still fails horribly when it tries to use hands or anything that's supposed to act like a hand. We thought robots would replace manual labor jobs but it turns out that they'll replace office workers and entertainers while humans will still be needed to work in the coal mines.
It's a lot harder to work individual fingers like how we do it

But also who says these robots would have human hands
Some much just have tool arms
Strictly speaking, a lot of the jobs could have been replaced by now.
They just don't because the higher-ups don't get nearly as much money from it.

@tinobemellow Well, the idea people had long ago, and even in the modern day, was that everyone would be given a base income just for living once work is no longer mandatory, and people would be allowed to take on jobs they actually want to, or even none at all if they wish.
Of course, with the open opposition to such, it's unlikely to ever happen. But it would be an improvement for mankind overall, if handled properly.

What's crazy to me is that even AI with all its capabilities still finds it difficult to draw hands.
In this, humans and robots can unite.
That's the funny thing, it (as in Stable Diffusion specifically, don't know about others) is trained off human artists and their work, and artists naturally hate drawing hands. Those that do draw them realistically will often have janky and weird results, while everyone else just finds excuses to hide or simplify them for the sake of not driving themselves crazy redrawing a hand a million times. All SD has to draw from for hands, unlike any other human body part, is a vast sea of mistakes, simplifications and total absences of hands.
In other words, it learned it from us, and we are the collective Dad

If that's the level of intelligence we can expect from AI, then I don't think we have anything to fear lol.
My favorite part of AI currently is how they're trying to automate human expression through art, writing and music and NOT mundane things like office work. I can't wait till they finally get it right so I can focus more on *checks notes* my desk job!

I’m more interested in the field of brain mapping. As far as I know they’ve successfully mapped the brain of a worm and have experimented with they by inserting the digital copy of a worm into different mechanical bodies and watch it work. Kind of grim when you think about it too hard and honestly that’s what would happen with every advancement in the field because different intelligences and you have the power to insert a cloned mind into any device and watch it struggle… for science!

The quality of the videos is the cause of the fact that he doesn't post very much. Every one of his videos is a carefully-edited, scripted, and well-directed comedy, with skits in-between thag take a deal of effort to produce. If he made more videos that had less effort put into them, then the comedic value would be less. Quality over quantity. I'm honestly grateful that he posts so little, because it makes every new video special.

Ironically, in a way it would only confirm that collage degrees never were a true qualifier of skill or intellect, but just a tool to separate social classes with insane entry fees for what amounts to a memorization test.
