The program is taped live before a concert audience from The Moody Theater in downtown Austin. ACL is the longest-running music series in American television history and remains the only TV series to ever be awarded the National Medal of Arts. This talented guy grew up about 15 miles south of where I raised my kids. My oldest daughter told me that she used to go see him at "The Deli," in Norman, Ok, when she was in high school. And I've got tickets to see him in Tulsa, on July 1st. He is fantastic!
