    Just a clarification the MPT-7210A will ramp back up as soon as the sun comes out but it's the same slowness. It sounds in the video that it completely cuts it off permanently and never ramps back up.

      @@americanhotdog Oh yeah it works even better with 2 panels in series. Way better than the MPT-7210A at solar charging. The MPT-7210A does have it's uses though, every 10 charges or so I slow charge my ebike batteries at 1 amp to balance the cells. I just use a 24 volt 6 amp cheap power supply and pop the max amps to 1 and it slow charges it perfectly.

    Great video. That's a really good bit of kit to have when you're out and about. It was very well explained, especially when you had to email for the instructions and then explain what to do when using this product. (Open)
    I see that the shock has washed up on Shore. lol, i look forward to watching the video on that. And if there's one thing I've learnt from you, it is that these descriptions of what the product is and what it really is are inaccurate. Take care, my friend 😎👍💯

      Thanks, this was more of a quick and dirty video as I knew that the information about the unit and how to get it to work would cause less frustration if I got something out as quick as possible. You'd think they would put simple stuff like this in the "manual" AKA the piece of paper instructions. Or hell just put a damn extra piece of paper in the packaging with the instructions. I almost threw the thing out before they finally got back to me. Yeah I've had some shock adventures this summer but finally got it dialed in. Had to buy like 3 shocks and a spring set. The one pictured in the video is on my bike but with a 550 lbs spring. 1000 lbs my ass...I'll give the other shocks I bought in a giveaway. Coming soon.

    Nice video, such a device (both of them actually) would be nice to have even without sun or solar panels. Just to use like a boost-buck converter I suppose. Nice to be able to charge e-bike battery from any DC power source...but my battery is a Bosch Power Pack 500, which does have another type of connector - not just a DC barrel plug. Do you know what that connector is and if I can charge that one with some cable adapter maybe, so I can use the MPT device?

      It looks proprietary unfortunately. The only way to do it is to buy another charger and cut off the end and splice it to the wago connectors. Kind of pricey considering it looks to be around $182 for the charger. They do this on purpose to force you to buy their stuff instead of getting a charger for $30. However it still may be worth it to you if you want to have a solar charging option. For what it's worth. I'd probably do it anyway if it were me. Having the ability to charge your bike with solar during blackouts, at campgrounds, etc is a big plus. It's a bummer they use a proprietary connector but hey that's Bosch. If you were going that route, plug in the extra charger and take a multi meter and see which terminals are positive and negative then when you cut the cord off the charger you know which is which. This unit has wago connectors which is basically a little blade that comes down and clamps on the wire. Strip 5mm of insulator off the wires, insert in in the connector and clamp it down and you're good to go. The other option is to get a power station. I have an Allpowers R600 which has a 600w inverter so it can handle the charger no problem, you would have to plug in the normal charger into the power station then put a solar panel on the power station to pump more power into it while it's charging but who wants to lug all that stuff around? It looks to have a 3 prong connector but you only need positive and negative, the third is probably ground so you wouldn't have to connect that wire just the positive and negative. The ground would just be there to plug into the battery port. The cheapest charger I've seen on the site named after the famous Baghdad thief was $115 Canadian. Unfortunately you're in the "$1000 for a volume knob on my radio for my BMW" territory. Maybe look for a used one? Or maybe go to the bike shop you bought it at and ask if they have a dead one, you just need the end with a length of wire. I'm sure if you offered them $20 for basically junk they'd be happy. Since it's a 36v battery this unit will charge the battery fast. However if you use 2 panels you would have to put them in parallel not series as there would be too much voltage as the terminal voltage for a 36v battery is 42v.
