here is my experience and how i treated.
i had so much much acne on forebead, cheek and chin. some of them are either itchy, painful or nothing.
i tried so many chemicals that is either putting or eating but it either did nothing or had negative impact.
I was fed up.
later my sister told me to put a face pack i.e. a milk skin of one cup of milk and a pinch of turmeric powder. take both in hand and mix and put in on face. leave it for 15 to 20 mins. then use suitable facewash (i used clean and clear) and rinse with cold water. used daily. after 1 to 2 weeks, my acne is totally gone and my skin is more healthier now.
In addition, i was consuming cod liver oil capsules 2 times a say which is a plus point that treat hormonal imbalance as well. also drink a lot of water.

@Sweta Majumder hey, actually the root cause is hormonal imbalance as in few girls estrogen and progesterone levels drop before their periods, which trigger sebaceous glad to produce extra oils which block the skin pores and the results are acne.
So..there are few things which we can try
1) I am using Clinsol (anti- acne) soap, you can get it at medical stores. Use it at least 3 times, or it depends upon the weather.
2. Use benzoyl peroxide based gel two times , after using the soap. I used cle-ant brand.
3. Drink a lot of Water and one glass of lemon water daily, at least squeeze half lemon into it.
4 use Isotretinoin capsules atleast for one month, I used acnat 20 brand..
... I used these things in 2017 , and pimples had gone completely till 2019..but now I am having it again and repeating these things.

Yes it is harmful and contraceptive pill is not the treatment for hormonal imbalance.. it just supresses the hormone for sometime and it will come back whenever yu stop.. and it will have consequences in the long run if yu use it continuously.. you have to check ur hormone and control it naturally with diet and exercise.. and if necessary consult an ayurvedic or homeopathic doctor.. Allopathy doesn't treat hormonal imbalance they just treat the symptoms..

Hair fall is an major side effect on isotretinoin ,as the mg increases it's side effects too increases pls fo not use above 20 mg isotretinoin a day for acne it's not worth it i stopped using it just after 1month of sotret 10mg daily my hairfall got drastically reduced after stopping it

You may have to take oral isotretinoin. Creams and lotions are not going to be enough for cystic acne.

Please dont do what she suggested. Any tablets as such will have huge impact on mental mindset . In general people who use allopathy medicines for acne will suffer from low confidence,stress etc not due to non reduction of acne but due to usage of these medicines. To get rid of acne , make sure to include papaya, pineapple everyday in diet, don't use oily soaps like dove but use nivea soaps which are quite good. Don't do any facials. Always use mix of turmeric powder plus wheat powder face packs. Don't use any gels from market but always apply aloevera from direct plant. Not from patanjali aloevera. So what I am saying is entirely go natural. Your acne will go away in no time with proper mental status. I bet it because I am live example.

I have hormonal acne for a long time. I'm 23 now and still after a lot of medicines (antibiotics and contraceptive pills) I'm still no cured. It's been more than 10 years that I've suffered from face problems. But nothing is working. Even my doctor has suggested after so much amount of contraceptive pills, aldactone and isotretinoin that i can't be given any more treatments regarding it.
I have no way left and this is just truly hopeless for me.
Please advise if another way exists, i really need a hope. :(

there is no way to "cure" acne. we can control it. If you have been taking oral medications for a long time, I suggest you to just use creams. What creams have you used for acne in the past?
If you don't want to take oral medications, getting chemical peels once or twice a month may also help in maintaining results.

I've used Benzac AC, Adapalene, Aquifolium, Retinols, Hydroquinone, Clindamycin and many others that dermatologists usually recommend for acnes. Nothing seem to work though! :(
