    The fox is the symbol of Inari Shrine.The fox is not a god. The fox is a messenger of the gods. Reference "Inari shrin" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inari_shrine
    It is said that it may have been the Nestorians, a sect of Christianity that came to ancient Japan, who created the Inari Shrine. They assimilated into Japan.
    But for the Japanese, shrines are not a religion.
    It's just a tradition. The fox is a popular icon of Japanese culture for the Japanese.

      To clarify, full concert reactions will get blocked on UA-cam, so Twitch (or possibly some other platform) is the only way to do them. You can stream the whole thing on Twitch without any copyright issue, though if you save the vod on Twitch, parts of it will likely be muted.
      If you want to save it, just save it locally and maybe upload it to another platform like Google Drive if you want to share it. Some reactors have put reactions on Drive and uploaded placeholder vids to YT with the Drive link in the description so they can still get views.

    There are a lot of things/infos not in the video or are wrong/incomplete unfortunately, but doing such a long video it's pretty forgiveable to forget some things. rnegitsune was also probably more focused on making it entertaining, funny and putting her opinions in than to actually get all the details right. One example I really miss in the video is the origin of the Fox Sign. It's not like they just thought "let's do something like this". The girls were actually shown the devil horns when they still knew nothing about metal and thought the gesture was the fox from shadow play, that's how the whole hand gesture thing started. And another thing I always see that's not completely correct is how Moa got her "Angel of Love" nickname. Sure, she's the one who "puts out the most love" with her crowd interaction and eye contact, etc, but it actually (also) comes from the Japanese spelling of her given name. Moa is spelled 最愛 and the two Kanji mean "most" and "love".
    The whole Avengers situation isn't up-to-date anymore. I think it's safe to assume Momoko is the only Avenger for now, she performed all BM shows since the pandemic started. Riho signed a solo career deal with another agency last year and is super busy with tv interviews and stuff. She knows Su and BM's choreographer MIKIKO for over ten years and probably saw the whole BM deal as a stepping stone to get back into entertainment/music. She wasn't the ace of Morning Musume, one of the most famous idol groups of all time in one of their most successful timespans, for nothing. And Kano seems to be busy with @onefive, who unfortunately seem to be more focussed on modeling and appearance than the actual music they produce (in my eyes at least).

I really like the video, regardless of its shortcomings, but she really should've left her opinions and world view out of it.

    As others have mentioned, "we have" now have learned from this guide and made better more to the point ones. But all of them are info dumps on your head which for some might even be a bit much and confusing. :-)
    31:38 "that's mad !" No, just Babymetal doing what they always do: "do things other (metal) bands can't do."
    They had 2 fan club members only shows in: one male one female in 2015 already. And their very first Babymetal-only show had the requirement: buy the album special edition and wear the neckbrace to the show LOL So dresscode isn't a new thing for Babymetal at all.
    40:10 our best guess, which at least has some kind of proof, Yui might have back issues. Which obviously takes a long time to recover and could easily mean she couldn't do full tours with Babymetal again. So in that light her decision would make sense.
    41:33 what is good about having a third person on stage dancing is that they can get back to the old choreography which works better than trying to adopt them.
    43:30 usually with these things Babymetal fans have contact with each other online and it's usually hours at the most for any such facts.
    44:29 you mentioned Yuimetal and Moametal are in sync... now think about Moametal have to train 3 new dancers and be in sync with each of them in a different way (everyone is different).

    Babymetal is a Japanese group Founded in 2010 and produced by Key “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency. Babymetal name comes from the birth of a new style of metal fusing j-pop with metal creating what they call Kawaii Metal (Cute-Metal).
    The group currently consists of Suzuka Nakamoto aka “Su-Metal” (23 years old) sometimes referred to as Vocal and Dance, and Moa Kikuchi aka "Moametal", pronounced as Moa-Metal (21 years old) sometimes referred to as Scream and Dance. With a rotating trio of girls filling the third slot, in a 3-member formation. These girls are known as Avengers and are Kano Fujihara (16 years old) ((Most likely not an Avenger)), Riho Sayashi (21 years old) ((Most likely is not an avenger anymore)), and Momoko Okazaki (18 years old) ((Still an Avenger)). They are supported by a rotating selection of talented male backing musicians known as the Kami Band (Kami is usually poorly translated as gods, but in truth it more closely means awe inspiring spirit, entity, or object) It is why they are dressed in white to look like ghosts or spirits, though Kami being used as God(s) is so common in translation the white outfits get lost.
    Past Formations.
    Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012)
    From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal. (Age 10). First starting out as the Heavy Music Club as a subunit within the Developmental Idol Group created by Amuse in 2010 known as Sakura Gakuin. Sakura Gakuin is group that introduces girls between the ages of 10-15 to music, dance, modeling, and acting through Japanese Pop idol music and culture. Given a school theme, all three would be a part of Sakura Gakuin until their graduation from it in the same school year they would graduate from Japanese middle school or 15 years old. Suzuka graduated in March 2013, and Moa and Yui in March of 2015. Sakura Gakuin is a fantastic group with great kawaii jpop songs in their own right. During this time there was no lore, and the girl’s costumes were more punkish in nature which they helped create. They also didn’t perform with live music, using a backing track or the “Skeleton band” people pretending to play music behind them.

    Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017)
    Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time. The Lore is complex and involves a battle against other evil idol corporations, gaining powers, some time travel, running a resistance group, all at the direction of a mythical deity known as the fox god, against an all power enemy known as Akiba. The first Legend show I was the Kami Bands introduction to the end, but it also had the Skeleton Band which is seen in the wildly popular Gimmie Chocolate Music Video. This was followed by Legend D, and then Legend Z, in which it was learned that Babymetal would continue as its own entity after Suzuka’s graduation from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013. Slowly over 2013 the Skeleton Band would be phased out of all live shows, as Babymetal came into their own.
    Babymetal as it is most commonly known as with Su-Metal, Moametal, Yuimetal, the Kami Band, and a somewhat understandable lore is what consisted for the majority of it’s existence. Also established beyond the 3 member formation, they had 2 other set ups, one was what fans called Su-Solos, and it would just be Su on stage with the Kami band, performing a solo, and the other is known as Black Babymetal by the band themselves, which consisted of just Moa and Yui.

    The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era
    (2018)
    In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui. Changes they would not tell fans and all throughout 2018 communicate extraordinarily little causing lots of pain for all involved fan and performer. This era is noted by their strange armor like costumes, sometimes referred to as Elf Armor. To make the poor communication, and Yui’s absence wasn’t bad enough, one of the more regular Kami band members, Mikio Fujioka passed away after falling off a balcony in late December 2017 while star gazing. A beloved and incredibly talented musician lost leaving behind his wife and only child.
    In September 2018 Yui would formally resign from Babymetal, stating her unspecified health and wishing to move on. Babymetal themselves announced that the group will move on focusing on Suzuka and Moa. (Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand)
    In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history.

    Metal Galaxy Era
    (2019- Feb 2020)
    The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH.

    (Avenger confusion)
    Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal. For the Music Videos, Pa Pa Ya, Elevator Girl, and Shanti Shanti Shanti, it is Kano Fujihara, who was just 14 years old at the time. Da Da Dance is a compilation of Momoko and Riho and a splicing of 2 different shows. In most fan cam videos of the American and European tour it would be either Riho or Momoko, as they toured with Babymetal in 2019. Kano had responsibilities with Sakura Gakuin as its president, a position Suzuka and Moa both held in Sakura Gakuin, and she’s never flown on a plane before.
    Some fans for 2019 did throw a stupid temper tantrum over the use of new Kami Band members who are from the west now known as the West Coast Kami Band, but like how the girls won over many, so did they and the payoff with the Legend Metal Galaxy concert in 2020 was well worth it.
    COVID Era
    (Mar 2020 to current time)
    COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020. Forced to keep it rather tame something very unlike Babymetal as even in their failures like the entire 2018 tour they do it septically. The question for many fans is what of the Avengers, since COVID, Avenger Riho Sayashi has signed with a new agency and has move on to other projects, including starting a fan club, which appears to rule her out of ever being an Avenger again. Kano Fujihara has graduated from Sakura Gakuin on August 30, 2020, a near 4 month delay. However, she and fellow Sakura Gakuin graduates Soyoka Yoshida, Tsugumi Aritomo, and Momoe Mori in the formation of @onefive. Which leaves Momoko Okazaki as last standing Avenger with no new commitments. However, Kano was technically in Sakura Gakuin, @onefive, and Babymetal all at the same time for almost a year so it is possible she will still be an Avenger. All shows since COVID pandemic they have done in 2020 and in 2021 have had Momoko as the Avenger.

    Japan is a very private culture, so personal things are not talked about to outsiders. So it is highly unlikely we will ever know what caused Yui to have to leave the group. Another example, do you know anything about Su and Moa's private lives? To me this is great, they can lead their lives as they wish.
    When Yui's departure was made official, the Amuse management proposed disbanding Babymetal. Su and Moa told Amuse they wanted to continue as Babymetal. The Amuse management agreed with the girls, who says there no Fox God!
    Kano and Rhio apparently are no longer available as Avengers, sooo it looks like Momoko is it.

    On at least two occasions, Yui was on-stage wearing a fairly obvious back brace. Also, her facial puffiness was thought to be due to cortisone treatment for said injury. The simple fact is that, due to the private nature of Japanese people, unless Yui herself chooses to say differently, we will never know for sure. It is important to remember that Yui has never been officially "replaced;" the three backups are NOT her replacements; they are part of the continuing lore. Real fans will continue to support BabyMetal, but the loss of Yui and Mikio are very real. The One understands that...and, I was sickened by some of the vicious rumors about Yui's departure. I hope that Yui recovers and can return to music...but, Yui is a very smart girl and might be excellent in university or in another branch of entertainment.

    About the foxes (kitsune), they are a symbol of Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples dedicated to the "Inari" deity, but the foxes aren't gods themselves, at least in Shinto or Buddhist thought, although Babymetal (namely Koba-metal, BM's impressario) has elevated the foxes to god status. Basically, it's part of Babymetal's shtick.

    There is a far better guide to Babymetal by CrypticMisery, a short and a long version. The best thing you can say about this "Unhelpful" guide is that it's outdated. It practically skips over the Kami Band, who are the "metal" in Babymetal, spends too much time on the Avengers, of whom only one remains, and treats Yui mostly like a clueless sideshow.

    99% of BM fans have moved on from Yui's departure (I might still be in the other 1% 🍅😉) and support BM and Yui on their separate paths. But, Yui has become a bit of a Yui-nigma because she hasn't been photographed or seen in public for three years while remaining under contract to Amuse. She recently contributed some comments to the SG 10th Anniversary Book, but other than that...nothing. So how long can she stay under contract to Amuse and on hiatus? Maybe she's working on something, but her strange public contract/work status must surely change at some point.

    • @otobokegaijin6218
      @otobokegaijin6218 3 роки тому +6

      It's not accurate that Yui hasn't been seen in public. There have been sighting reports of her in Kawasaki and Yokohama, in Kanagawa Prefecture, which is her home (an hour or two drive, depending on traffic, from Tokyo). A number of Japanese BM fans have concluded that she's been attending university there. Although Yui is still listed on Amuse's roster, it's not known what her "contract" status is. It's not unusual for Japanese entertainment management agencies to keep people listed on their rosters for sentimental reasons even if they're inactive or effectively retired. Another way to look at it is that Amuse is leaving the door open in some way.

    • @cuttysark8017
      @cuttysark8017 3 роки тому +2

      @@otobokegaijin6218 I don't expect her to be locked in a tower etc., but there have been no photos and no Amuse sponsored public appearances. I hope she is going to college as that experience is something that I think Su and Moa might regret missing later in life. All we know is that Yui is still attached enough to Amuse to have a page on their website, but is doing nothing for them publicly, and any further comments on her contract are just speculation. So until her page changes or disappears the "we just don't know" status quo will continue, but 3 years is getting to be a long time given that SG grads like Hana and Ayami got dropped quickly when they had nothing to do.

    • @otobokegaijin6218
      @otobokegaijin6218 3 роки тому +2

      @@cuttysark8017 True, ultimately it's all only speculation. It's interesting, by the way, that on Amuse's profile of Yui her Sakura Gakuin years are listed but no mention of her Babymetal activity. Does that mean they're holding out hope for her eventual return (i.e., they don't want to list 2018 as the final year), or on the other hand, does it mean she's persona non grata as far as BM is concerned? I guess OTFGK.

    • @cuttysark8017
      @cuttysark8017 3 роки тому +2

      @@otobokegaijin6218 There has naturally been some distancing of BM from Yui. Her leaving must have been difficult for all involved and BM needs to put space between themselves and Yui to forge a new path. I know that privacy is still important in japan and Yui has said that dignity is a quality a "Super Lady" should have, so I think that if she continues in entertainment with Amuse there will eventually be a statement and if not her page will just disappear.

The newer guide could have also been better but Cryptic knows that full well. I was hoping he/we would find someone real to do the voiceover and not the robot voice he chose.
