Just like Dark Soul, you'll learn more about the world by the item description. Rabbit key Soul of head-hunting beast Vorpal Sword + Jabberwock Interaction + the dialog if you fail to "tame" her
That’s the lore you’re asking for: «He took his vorpal sword in hand; Long time the manxome foe he sought- So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought. And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. “And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” He chortled in his joy.»
To be honest, this feels more like fighting Guts in a form of a demonic rabbit... Hell, at this phase, the game literally states Vorpal is unleashing the *_Beastof Darkness_* . Can't get anymore Berserk than that.
Red hood describes being saved by a white rabbit Which while I think it is a bit of a stretch especially since the bunny sprite of vorpal hunter is a bit purplish I like to think it may be related to the vorpal hunter probably before the madness of the cycles bled into the garden since from what I can tell this has been going on for a while With black souls 1 not having any jabberwock or yonsoth or however she’s pronounced fight unless I missed something critical with the black goat or wonderland Would even explain a bit of the books of the old world are scattered with Dorothy implication of survival and Jean dying outside of a castle environment from the first game despite dlc 1 showing their deaths leads to a contradiction which I can only really rectify with the crawling one trying to remix the previous garden and trying and failing to make the previous books work in this new world probably with additional cycles that are not shown sorta like implication of Mary Sue and mr Carroll Alice torture with the 3 sisters
"That sword..."
"MY sword..."
A dragon hunting rabbit!? Holy hell!!

Vorpal, Hunter of The Wicked Dragon
Everything about Vorpal is so fucking badass. His appearance, his fight, and his sword. Heck, this is too badass for an optional boss
Favorite boss tbh, wish there was more lore around him

I didn't know about this boss at all.....
I got this fight by pure accident on my first NG+ cycle. Immediately became my favourite.

More like a combination of Maliketh, Ludwig the Accursed/ Holy Blade and Artorias
Really good music, but... Where is Alice?
He is literally ludwig the holy blade, wth?
Underrated traxk
Did Jabberwock curse him with badassery or something, implying he's Vernal's kin? Or is this one of Node's citizens?

The best part is that he isn't just hunting a dragon, he isn't just hunting the Jabberwocky. He's hunting a great one, a god.
