I said making the game _better,_ not _worse._ which usually means diversifying artwork, adding more intricate detail, ensuring little things like an ice attack melting when it hits some small unimportant thing that reasonably should be hot like a lightbulb are added, thereby making the world more interactible and feel like a place rather than an obstacle course, making the characters more lifelike and diverse both in terms of individually and adding more, and changing around the environment to make it feel and be better.

I realize now that these words could be taken drastically differently depending on their tone. To avoid confusion and hostility, the tone of the text above this is: confusion in the first sentence, neutral tone in the second, and the rest is me explaining passionately about something I like.

maybe we will find him in a DLC, and he will be the true finale boss that shows us how the world became once void toke over, kinda like slave knight geal from DS3
I don't understand why the godhome ending would be a cliffhanger if the hollow knight and him aren't in the game somwhow.somehow. they wouldn't make a cliffhanger ending like that for no reason.

Im not sure how would they make him work with the gameplay of silksong as he seems to be closer to something you would see in terraria BUT if they can pull that off I'm all in.
I think it would be one of those unbeatable bosses that you cant truly kill but instead convince to spare you.

the idea of fighting yourself from the old hollow knight is great because it would be like progressing past your former power to be even better.

And it makes total sense because it's Hornet vs Shade Lord after all. It also makes sense that some of Hornet's theme is present whereas the Knight doesn't have any theme present in any of the themes, because Hornet has a "voice" to speak, whereas the Knight doesn't.
The Shade Lord would make the perfect secret-final-boss.
It would be just the best way to conclude it, having both game's final boss be a God.

Oh my GOD! AH! This is so good! Seriously, I love this so much. It's such a unique sound, with some of the choral elements (getting heavy Shriek and Ori, from WotW vibes), but still feels distinctly Hollow Knight, especially with the strings. I love all the leitmotifs, calling back to Sealed Vessel, the main theme, Hornet's theme... The idea I'm inferring from this (and the artwork), that the Shade Lord from the Godmaster ending is the final boss, and it's Hornet fighting it? Ah, that's so cool! And this perfectly captures it, I think- it'd be such a different fight, and feel to anything else in the game. Absolutely incredible work, please continue making music man, you're amazing!

We see in the final arena the challenge prompt when facing the world's crescent moon, but then its revealed that the shadow across it was the Shade Lord resting on it making it a crescent when it was actually a full moon.
genuinely stunning, this music is loaded with i̶n̶n̶u̶e̶n̶d̶o̶ references. i love the use of various leitmotifs, this is truly a masterpiece of composition. keep up the good work, you're very talented!

Apex of the Abyss - THE SHADE LORD
Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! It's so fitting with the style of Hollow Knight's musical style while also applying Silksong's seeming inclination over string instruments across it's own. Not to mention how ominous and opressive the "Heart of the Abyss" part is contrasting with "Queensoul"'s strained hope. It's so powerful and memorable, and i can only hope the real thing can provide something just as incredible as this. Amazing work overall!

It really feels like the song of the ruler of the abyss. We can assume that the boss is the hollow knight in the most powerful form ever seen, and I would love to see all the songs related to a silksong motiv in the game, and then you fight THIS, and the song is more related to the original game. That would be absolutely NUTS.
In all honesty, this song must be the best song I have ever heard. From the start to the finish, there was a beutiful composition of synergy between all the major themes in Hollow Knight, like, for example, The Hollow Knight's theme, Hornet's theme and many others which all combined together with the excellent playing of the violin, make a canvas that in it of itself is THE definition of Hollow Knight's music. Calling this work of art anything other than a masterpiece would be criminal. Bravo mr. Dutonic, just... bravo. You fully earned my subscribtion and my respect. Keep it up.
This is SOOOO good. I imagine the first phase being you fighting "the knight", well, at least whats left of him, and then on the inbetween we have a cutscene where the knights shell breaks open and the shade lord finally breaks free, revealing his true strengh. You fight him a while, untill you eventually get him into a Radience style escape phase, where your "Silk-soul" (a combination of the silk of spiders and soul of the higher beings, which Hornet unites) gains in strengh and like the shades in Radience, you start winning and taking the upper hand. Ending in finishing the shade lord off, perfectly timed with the music ending. I cant wait to see it all myself.......... in about a thousand years:)

@@ElGoobero-jv7xb No, "little ghost" is what Hornet called him, and its very likely that the names are stemming from the main character themself, who make up names for what they are fighting. Also, "little ghost" sounds better and is a reference to Hollow Knight.
This is amazing! You did an excellent job of capturing the dread and terror of the abyss. When Hornet's theme kicked in, I got chills!

I love how it goes from the usual vessel motif into Hornet’s theme! And something about that part right at the end, before Hornet’s theme comes in (right near here 6:47 I think), made me think of the Radiance fight. Not sure how, just an odd feeling. This song feels like a passing of the torch in a way, like this is what solidifies Hornet as her own separate character, not just a character in another’s world. No longer is it Hollow Knight: Silksong, it is instead now simply: *Silksong.*
I suggested the idea of a void related song for the Silksong series like a year ago. I don’t know weather that’s why you made the song but it’s awesome regardless.
It sounds like that as you fight the shade lord you are slowly spiraling down into the void, getting farther and farther from the beautiful shining citadel at Pharloom’s peak.
The seed of this idea was actually planted in my mind on the Sharp Shadow video by @goddessdeedeebubblesofimag7789. But it wasn't until I got the idea of weaving Hornet's theme into the final boss theme that this song really started coming together in my mind. I would never have imagined writing something 7 and a half minutes though. It was pretty brutal.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Genuinely the vibes transferred through the music are so strong. Something specific that I heard in the song is the strong bee energy in phase 2, which gave me a sort of eldritch desperation vibe. You've broke down its physical form. It's out of the energy needed to present in a logical way. The end of Phase 1 also really does well to demonstrate the hope of finally striking the killing blow and having it on its last legs then you stab it in the heart and what comes out isn't blood but eldritch and horrible power and intelligence. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm just trying to process this music beyond the way that it's clearing out my entire brain. I wish you success. Keep making this beautiful music. I will be listening to your whole body of work. My brain chemistry is destroyed. May you become rich and famous. AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. It's so clear how much love and effort and tweaking went into creating this piece and I've already gone through your other Hollow Knight related stuff and I don't know how your two area themes didn't get traction because I really love them. I can feel the dread of how much your music is going to consume my thoughts. It's like approaching a waterfall and knowing that you're fuck. I can feel the autism stirring. This might be worse than the PvZ orchestral remixes. Oh God.

this genuinely rekindled my hype for silksong a bit imagining the amazing fight that would go with this phenomenally made track, absolute masterpiece right here. when the vessel theme kicks in around minute 2 it's actually godly I can't lie, same with hornets theme around the 5 and 7 minute marks. this genuinely sounds like something right out of hollow knight, well damn done.

The first part of the song gives me the vibe of someone researching or discovering something, perhaps some kind of weakness, or plotting a way to defeat this great foe
Around minute 2 it transitions into this moment of actually preparing this plan that he's concocted.
Around minute 3 the preparations are finished and this person is anticipating the arrival of the great foe
Around minute 4 the great foe arrives the person is seeing his plan unravel as his theories and plans are put into practice.
Around minute 5, through minute 6 they continue to clash against each other in battle
Lastly, nearing the end of the song the battle sees itself a winner.
Very fun non-Hollow Knight interpretation!

One other thing, this sounds like it could be in the official soundtrack, you actually deserve more attention than you have.

I'm imagining the fight starting with Hornet attacking different void tendrils. The tendrils close by fight back, but the main body doesn't even notice cause it's that huge. When you start to hear the sealed vessel theme at 2:13 I imagine that the "siblings" in hollow knight fight hornet as she makes her way further. When the sealed vessel theme suddenly stops and the track becomes spooky at 2:40, the Shade Lord actually notices Hornet. It then plays an animation of it turning around and getting ready for battle until 3:50. Then the fight starts by Hornet just avoiding the Shade Lord attacks and making her way up to the monster. The music notes go upwards like how Hornet platforms upwards. Then when she reaches the top at 5:06 she leaps to the face of the Shade Lord and attacks it. The Shade Lord screams in anger and void swarms the area and contains and traps Hornet and the Shade Lord in an arena. Then they fight until 6:54 where the Shade Lord is knocked back and the void surrounding them opens up. Hornet has gained control of the fight and wins at the end.

I’m speechless. This was incredible
I love how it has the background creepiness of the void, but on top of that it's aggressive due to the Lord of Shade's will and wrath. Then there's the sealed vessel theme, signifying the tragic past, which quickly becomes threatening, as that old self is gone. There's the chanting, which shows the LoS's divinity, just like the Radiance. And then there is Hornet's theme, as she gains the power to win (queensoul, cool idea).
And now I wonder if/how Hornet's theme will appear in Silksong. Unlike in Hollow Knight where the main themes show up when you discover important things, Hornet isn't connected to Pharloom (that we know of). I'm sure it'll show up somewhere, but she's not a boss this time.

While hearing this song i imagine in phase 1 all of Pharloom joining you in the figth and this being shown in gameplay as them being part of the background as you pass through the void creatures attacking the city.
In hearth of the abyss i imagine the shade lord taking everyone out and holding them with its tendrils; and in phase 2 start i imagine Hornet seeing the souls of the weavers and her mother just as the void start to take over her soul, the scream at the start being her ripping away her own arm to escape before the figth starts.
In queensoul i imagine the abomination about to give an undodgable attack rigth as hornet's eyes glow, not orange, not white, neither red, but with a gold ligth that burns the tentacles away, then she starts to climb through the now destroyed citadel and freeing citisen after citisen as she climb her way up again to the top to strike the darkness for a last time.
