Great place is an understatement. What a oasis of beauty, charm, peace and warmth. I could move right in and not make a single change. The wood is so natural, strong and full of charm. I love the wilderness style. The pathways, trees, bridges & extra little prayer house, and all is certainly one of a kind. I love the creek and sound of water just takes away any stress. You dad is an artist, you are blessed to have him. See as much of him as possible because once he is gone, you'll never be the same. I lost my parents 6 yrs ago and think of them every day. You had a great time growing up there. Pure perfection. Thanks for sharing, such a cool dad, I am sure he loves you being there. You get lonesome as you get older.

Timmy, that is probably the nicest cabin I’ve ever seen. I built a basic house myself, started on it when I was 27, but that is 20 times more work than mine. How on earth did he handle all that heavy material on the side of a hill, not to mention just getting it there? All the hand carvings, what a masterpiece. I was so close to my Dad, lived 500 yards away, he died at 91 1/2 in 2018. See your Dad as much as you can, while you can

The woodwork, rockwork, and artwork are truly something to behold. Your talented Dad built the childhood home of a kid's dreams. Wizardly building ability.

Your Dad built an incredible home with personal touches everywhere. I loved the sounds from the porch. I noticed the stairs didn't squeak. He did a good job there to. What a calming place to live in nature with all the trees. I love it!

You should take a year and live with your dad. You need to help him and do things together. He needs you but will never come out and ask you. He is older and he needs you now. You can ski with your friends later. That one yr with your dad would be an experience you would never forget. You can really get close when you spend time together. I would give anything to spend a week or see my parents again. When they are gone your life will change and you will have regrets, I so every day.
His dad is one in a million. Did you lose your mom already.

From seeing how your dad lives is the Perfect example to show that strong disciplined parents create the most awesome children 100% of the time. The best professor someone can have is there parents and your dad is one tough creative beast to have achieved all that. No wonder your tough as nails both physically and mentally, it was engrained into your blood from childhood. That house is a masterpiece I can’t imagine how many hours goes into the detail of building something like that. Thanks for the tour!

My grandpa used to build vertical log homes in our area. He was as a horse logger, so, he'd harvest all maple himself, then build the homes. Obviously took years but, 70+ years later they're all still just fine!!!
What an incredible cabin! When you walked through the door it was as if all the nature followed you throughout the interior. I don't think I've ever seen another place where the interior felt so in tune with the exterior. So beautiful!

Beautiful. My dad grew up in Germany in the Hartz Mountains, Braunlage. He and I always wanted a log cabin. He , like your dad could build, wood carved,. Butchered animals. Just loved the woods like your dad. My mom was city. So we lived in town.
My sweetest memories was visiting his Mountains Braunlage, GERMANY. I asked for one thing. Dad, would you yodel for me❓❤️❤️❤️🀄🛐✝️. He did. The MOST IMPORTANT SOUNDS and love I HEARD in my heart. Never forgot the echo's
