    Happy New Years you two! Great timing with so many people making resolutions to get back into exercising. Hooping is a fantastic way to ease back into motion without any heavy pounding on sore or stiff joints. Thanks for teaching & encouraging others!

    Helpful information. I measured the height of my bellybutton and chest to find an average starting point.
    I did not know "hoop dealer" was a thing. I'm a little concerned about asking my friends, "Hey, can you hook me up with a hoop dealer?" :-) But I'll keep looking.

    Amazing video. Thank you so much! I’ve been called to start hula hooping for some time now but I tend to over think it.... in terms of the actual hoop. So I really appreciate this video. Thank you. Now I just need to find a local hula hoop person😅
    I’m 5’10 average built woman. Long & tall! I know the hoop will come to me

    Hi. I've been hooping about 9 months. I don't really do waist hooping but I'm trying to master shoulder hooping. How long is considered " good" amount of time to waist hoop? I did 1 minute 50 seconds just now with my 33 PP. Meaning that's how long I could keep it up standing still. I didn't move around and that was my first time timing.

    • @hoopsmiles
      @hoopsmiles  4 роки тому +3

      I don't know. I'd say a good amount of time for waist hooping is when you are to the point it feels like the hoop could stay up as long as you want it to. If you are still struggling with the hoop slipping or you can't move or spin around while waist hooping, then I'd say there is still more to master. However, it sounds like you are already using a smaller size hoop which is going to be more difficult to hoop with anyways.

    How tall is Abbey? Also what if there isn't a store near.? What kind of height/ weight hoop should I guesstimate

    • @hoopsmiles
      @hoopsmiles  3 роки тому +2

      Let me ask her. I don't recommend people buy their first hoop online. If you can't test out and buy in person, and your only option is to buy online, then the best bet is to buy a hoop that is collapsible, that can be made bigger or smaller with multiple hoop sections. In some cases, if you need a bigger hoop, you might be able to buy 2 collapsible hoops and combine them, depending on the type of hoop you get. That way you can see which size fits you best.

    I am a beginner, I want to start hula hooping to reduce my waist of course alongside healthy eating and other activities. I am 4” 11” inches tall, my options are a 90cm and an 83cm hoop, which of the two is most suitable? My other question is, is 1.97kg heavy enough?How heavy should a beginners hoop be?

    • @hoopsmiles
      @hoopsmiles  4 роки тому +2

      Well the weight of the hoop depends on what your intentions are. Having a heavier hoop if you only plan to waist hoop, could help you lose weight. In terms of the weight you should use, I'm not the biggest fan on advising on how heavy a weighted hoop should be, particularly because the heavier a hoop gets the more likelihood one could injure themselves or bruise easier. If your intention is to learn hoop tricks then a weighted hoop is not the way to go. I would recommend a hoop under a half kg in weight for learning tricks. If it's your first hoop, I would go with the bigger hoop.

    Nonsense - Blah Blah Blah.... useless information. What is the size of the hoops in inches? MOst important info is missing rendering this video absolutely useless.

    • @hoopsmiles
      @hoopsmiles  3 роки тому +3

      I disagree. The size in inches doesn't really matter as much as one may think unless you already know what size of hoop fits you. But if you have never tried hooping before and you watch a video on youtube and it tells you to buy a hoop x amount of inches, many people may end up wasting their money and time buying the wrong size because the hoop size mentioned in the video was meant to fit the person using it in the video, even if the person in the video has a similar body type as you. Even people on the bigger plus side may use a smaller hoop than the one used in this video or perhaps an even bigger hoop. So in that, the hoop size in inches is variable if someone has never tired it, meaning it could be bigger or smaller. Whats more important is the process of getting fitted to find the right size instead of just buying a hoop size in inches that someone else told you to buy. That's what hoop sellers will do Amazon. They will claim a 38 to 40 inch hoop is for beginners, when many beginners may need a much larger hoop than that. Anyone reading this reply, I recommend getting fitted for a hoop in person to determine your hoop size instead of blindly buying a hoop size someone online told you to buy. But if you can't get fitted in person, and have to buy online, buy from a seller that offers free returns so you can send it back if you try it out and its not the right size.
