    I wish I had seen this when I first started hooping 😂 I did some research and ultimately let my intuition lead me, which turned out well but I still felt confused. This brings a lot of clarity. I never knew that the belly button measurement was a dodgy way to find the right hoop, but now it makes sense why. Going by dress size seems way more logical. Awesome video, Bee 💚💚💚 This is really helpful to new hoopers, but also experienced hoopers who want to size down or switch to polypro.

      Same here! Intuition was lucky and I wish I had even a fraction of this info when I started... but it's OK. We cannot start on the top of the ladder... we start with baby steps from the bottom, get things wrong sometimes but learn lessons and keep moving onwards and upwards and our skills and knowledge keeps growing... and our fitness and coordination improves and we get creative and playful and open-minded... these hoops do take us on a journey of fun discoveries 💖💖💖 enjoy all your discoveries and growth, Gorgeous Xandra❤️❤️❤️

    I added some dry pasta (maybe 12oz worth) to the inside of my dance hoop to add some weight to help as I learned the motion, then dumped it out. I’m on day 9 and can keep it going for about 50 rotations tops, hopefully I’m close to being able to keep it going for a full minute soon. Thank you, Bee! I watch your videos for encouragement and can’t wait until I’m ready to start the Of Course program.

      Hurray for PASTA 🎉🍝 🤣 that is genius! 🏆
      Indeed, it will work superfine! It helps initially if our hoop is a bit heavier ( you can feel it & keep it moving better ) and then as we get more coordinated - it is good to reduce the weight - bit by bit. Because eventually you can learn cool moves all around your body and you will feel your hoop so well, you fine tune your every body part & you soon hoop like a pro!
      You shall soon stop counting rotations and days! It will be effortless, joyful, relaxing & also energising! Hooping will forever help you take your mind off the world & will help you learn how to give yourself your own full undivided attention! It's like meditation & a party that also get you smoking hot & confident & satisfied 🤪✨🪄 enjoy the magic unfolding for you with every single revolution, darling! Have lots of fun 💋

      @@BeeVargaTheHulahooper I love waking up each day and being just a little better (and less sore) than the day before! Today I kept it going easily for twice as long as yesterday on the very first spin. Your explanations about building up the muscle memory and neurological connections kept me from getting too discouraged that first week when it wasn’t clicking yet. Thank you ❤️

      🪄 if you are a beginner now, that is super exciting!!!!! This time next year you can be hooping like a pro, rocking your epic tricks & moves - partying & celebrating every day looking shredded & feeling more creative & playful every day!
      🌅It is a shiny new chapter, Gorgeous! Your 2024 can be wildly different! You can gift yourself an absolute glow up! 🎁
      By picking your hoop up: every time you get stronger, more powerful, more flexible & your energy levels will hit the sky! It is confusing at the start - so much to learn!
      💡But my top tip: RELAX!!!! YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING WRONG! You cannot have a wrong hoop or cannot get hooping wrong! etc. Even if you end up with a few hoops from here and there: eventually you will find epic use for all of them!!! and your moves will get chiselled, your coordination improves and with every drop of your hoop you will learn something new! When I started many years ago: I took forever to get started and I was over-complicating it and constantly worried or talking myself out. Let me be your loudest cheerleader, remember: you cannot get any of this wrong! It will all help you! Just keep going, Darling! 💗

I had suffered with depression and whooping has really been my rescue. An aspect not talked about much, but actually very relevant when buying a hoop is whether the diameter is measured from the inside or outside of the hoop. This can make a difference of 5 cm, for example, with a thickness of 2.5 cm!

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  Рік тому +3

      That's a very good point! I had a list of things when I scripted this video to make sure I include what people keep asking about and I already felt like this video was going on too long and nobody wants to watch a whole hour of hoop documentary 🤣 with me 🤣 that's why I included the hoops put on the scales but wasn't holding them for ages reading the weight because nobody wants to watch me weigh my whole collection of hoops 🤣 but if they do, they can pause if they want to take notes 🤪 and the inside or outside diameter is an epic point that is not here in this video. I actually had it filmed but cut it because I was desperate to shrink the video as always to not be too long. Online everyone is in a rush and they tell me I talk too much 🤪
      In my case I always measure my hoops for inside diameter because as you correctly pointed it out, depending on material it can be very different!!! My wooden hoops are super different inside and outside diameter... but the inside diameter is what mostly determines how fast it spins around us or what it feels like so I usually measure for that. I think that online sellers may differ but when people are in doubt, sellers probably reply if we get in touch with questions before buying. It's just hard when people look around online and don't message the seller but keep messaging me 🤣 how would I know all the hula hoop offerings of the world from the kitchen in Latvia 🤪🤣 like if I had superpowers... but I shall remember to mention inside or outside next time 💋 thank you 💖

      Thank you, Gorgeous 🙏 I was 25 when I started hooping & I already had love handles & my core & all my joints were weak at the start, I had extremely low cardiovascular fitness & overall I was a mess. It is not the looks... it is the feeling fit part that matter to me.
      I had no idea how unfit I was. I felt normal. Now I am wrinklier, with a body that got stretched out by pregnancy & giving birth, I could wrap my boobs around my neck after all the breastfeeding... none of that matters... what I love is my confidence in my body right now: I never felt so resilient, so powerful, so agile, so unstoppable... and now in my 40s even though I am a single mom with sedentary work: I don't have the love handles and I could effortlessly wrestle my 20odd-year-old me down in seconds... my joints are so mobile & still strong... my heart & lungs are fitter than ever before... I can jump & run better than ever before & hold inversions, toss & catch with ease and accuracy... like if I got an upgrade. Not in looks but in feelings 💗
      I hope you are super inspired to play lots, make amazing discoveries for yourself, learn lots, try all & enjoy amazing wellness both physically & mentally 🙏 lots of love to you 💋🫶

    Is this accurate for men as well?

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes, these recommendations are accurate for men, too. Of course it depends what your goals are and what moves you want to learn and practice. But in general the size & weight recommendations for the style of hooping that I do: are same for both men and women.
      My hooping style uses lots of bodyweight resistance progressions & the hoop is always used but it is not the main source of resistance. In my workout the resistance is your body weight and the hoop helps you diagnose + improve range of motion & power & fast twitch muscle fibre activation. The hoop is not the main source of resistance in my workouts - it is a tool to activate muscles and break down tension. So the hoop does not need to be heavy and beat the heck out of us. That is popular though to think the hoop has to be heavy but a heavy hoop just spins easily... it makes it less effort to keep it up.

      Hi, sorry about the delay🙏🏾 I’m moving house and got work, kid, dog, etc so on top of that to keep eyes on UA-cam, too I struggle a bit this week. I attach the links I have on my UA-cam videos usually:
      a Hulahoop for a Beginner Adult
      US: amzn.to/2U5ijpP “#ad”
      UK: amzn.to/38EcFjl “#ad”
      A Hulahoop for a smaller slimmer adult or child and for any adult hand hooping moves:
      US: amzn.to/3Bf27q4 “#ad”
      UK: amzn.to/2TW05Xp “#ad”
      The specifications may help if you check their descriptions - a great place to look is Etsy, as well. They usually can give all details you need and if you tell them about your fitness level, experience and goals : they probably can even make you one! That would be amazing ❤️❤️❤️

    Hello, thanks for the video and explanations. I'm searching for a fun training. I decided to try hula hoops but unfortunately started with the heavy one. It makes my belly, back and all around red. Is there any solution? Should i buy medium one?

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  Рік тому

      Hello Gorgeous 💖 welcome to the world of hula hooping 💋 I think a medium weight hula hoop is the best. Like I describe in the video. Something like a dance hoop that is made of HDPE tubing or something like that. They weigh between 350gr-900gr usually. Sounds like a wide range of weight but it depends on the diameter. In the video I help choosing the right diameter, too based on dress size. The heavy weighted hoops lots of people had serious trouble with and I would avoid them. The medium one will keep you entertained for a very long time and you will get super fit 👌💪💖💋💋💋 have fun 💖
