Lovely! The music was beautiful and the video (childhood photos, family scenes, etc.) added such a warmth to the whole thing it felt like a personal connection listening to this.
Thank you for sharing.. it really touched my heart:) Bach is soo amazing... he is the only composer who can sound happy in a minor key:) O.K. maybe not the only... Good luck in all your future performances...Let me know if you come to Chgo:)
WE say, whatever comes from heart sits on heart. Literal translation (word by word) from FARSI and might not make sense but I'm sure you get it... Very touching interpretation..
Another example of how serious music today continues to be dumbed-down, degraded and commerciali(s,z)ed. Instead of it being about Schubert and his innermost soul it is about this narcissistic woman who is certainly no Clara Haskil.
+James Vaughan So shocking, a musician for whom Schubert's music evokes real emotions and memories from her own life! I think it's a beautiful video and a lovely playing of the piece, and the images go along very well with the changing moods of the music. I have to admit I know very little of Schubert, but I doubt he'd be as horrified as you are. From what I have heard, he played for people he knew personally, and would be delighted his music continued to speak to people with real lives outside of musicianship.
Yep -- Dinnerstein spent thousands of hours practicing and self-financed her first album with the sole aim of dumbing down and degrading classical music by -- God forbid -- connecting to her life. The nerve.
I don't want to connect to her life, only to what she does (or doesn't do) with Schubert's music. I don't want to be distracted by the sounds of footballing, laughing daddy and son while I am listening to this masterpiece. I don't like narcissistic ego-documents that make the music subordinate to the family life of the player. It doesn't make the playing any better. It gives me a bad taste in the mouth. It's glib marketing at the expense of great music.
This is Schubert from the soul. Every note is sung from the heart and communicated so effectively.
11 years ago, but saying thank you will never be too late. Greetings from Chile
What a treat.

exquisite , thank you
This was a treat to watch. Thank you.
BEAUTIFUL Schubert impromptu!! I am very impressed
La musique de Schubert tombe goutte à goutte sur votre solitude, hymne à la confidente, à l'intimité, à l'amour...
Simone, Did you know that you are mentioned in Kate Turabian's "A Manual for Writers of Research Papers... 9th ed"?
Thank you for sharing.. it really touched my heart:)

Some pianists impress me with a profound, striking interpretation. Others, like this one, impress me with a happy family life.
