My family of 5 (including 3 children) were lucky enough to stay at Puerta Azul when we visited Roatan in 2019. I can't say enough about Talia and her staff. The resort is a small hidden gem off the main road with it's own private beachfront and dock - perfect for snorkeling, swimming and relazing. We spent at week on Roatan enjoying the local cuisine, shops and diving. At the end of every busy day, our return to Puerta Azul was private and peaceful. The homemade breakfasts daily were amazing! If you're looking for a small boutique resort on Roatan, I can't recommend Puerta Azul enough.

You are right, it’s not quite the same without the “white butter” on it. “White butter” is a cross between sour cream and butter.
I love the tortillas with mashed Honduran Red beans cooked with coconut milk, scrambled eggs, avocado slices, grated white queso, and white butter.

A Baleaaada. This video was enraging watching a foreigner explain Honduras and not only pronounce a baleada wrongly as well as make it wrongly. Please don’t ever do this again. As muchas I appreciate the exposure of my country to the rest of the world, it would be more appreciated it was through the lens of local. Not someone who decided to escape New York.
