The look of absolute glee on Al's face when panel Beater Mark asked for more trimming. Priceless! Also his comedic chops on the paid advert are awesome.
I think that phrase is fair game by now. "Release the schmoo", "polished to a Clickspring finish"and "get the funk out" are just common youtube lingo these days :P
GTR-cloning Hakos *is* 'purity,' that's the beauty of it. :) (Admittedly I might go another way than a V-8 but I just kinda dream of inline engines and multicarbs or ITBs in these. : ) )
The precision in old mates guard cutting is incredible. Absolutely loving this build and when purists cry it makes me love it even more!! Keep up the good work blokes.
"Came from New Zealand, got here pretty quick" That's funny, because at the moment over here, it can take a week for something to arrive from a couple of suburbs up the road! 😂
I have a 1972 Toyota Crown hardtop (MS75), owned it since 1988 here in Canada. One of less than 400 sold in Canada. Rare yes, but rather than treat it like a rolling museum, and eventually run out of NOS replacement parts, I am going to restomod it with a 1JZGTE. Thanks Skid Factory for reinforcing my plans!

Best project on youtube! The new mics sounds really amazing! Panel Beater Mark sures does have a steady cutting hand, absolutely perfect cuts. I'm guessing the space between there would have to be welded up or the trunk will be filled with sand, water, rocks and rubber from the tires?
Love the new mic setup, can hear Al much easier.. 🙌🏼 Not sure I could bring myself to make or have those cuts be made! Kudos, I’m sure the finished product will be awesome.. 👌🏼
Bitter-sweet 😢 As a fully quality mechanic, i have still learned so much from you guys. I look forward to what the future holds. Hopefully see you around Al. Woody we'll be definitely seeing you!
Its funny, I realized it's a lot harder to watch someone who isn't a professional hack up a classic than it is to watch someone with talent and experience. This is going to be an absolute legend of a car!
You guys have way too much fun at work, I'm jealous! Also glad to see I'm not the only one that likes to keep my empty cardboard slab chilled until it's ready to throw out :D
Enjoying the build fellas, I’m in the beginning stages of a 510 SSS Coupe build which has a very similar IRS setup as the Hako, looking forward to see what you’re doing with that one.
I'm proud about what you guys do. And actually that's not even a rare model of c10. Couple days ago i saw a true unicorn of c10. Left hand drive 4door, called 2400gt. They made maybe only 100-200units of those.
"Not stupid if it works", but dry power tap with an impact gun has to be an exception... Thanks for showing bandsaw operations. I recently bought the same model and it has been brilliant.
Yeah, it's one of those things I wouldn't personally want or need Aussie burnout power in, but I'd sure love a GTX with the added flares and maybe an L28 or something like they made all the time in Japan. If anything I'd probably just want to update suspension and ...I dunno, 250 HP or so ought to do more than adequately.
If we could harness the anger of the purist, it could power the world for centuries I think. I can feel it radiating through the screen while I'm watching Mark cut bits off.
A small part of me is aghast, but generally I reckon fair play! This car is going to be better than rare, it's going to be fricken unique and very very rad!!!!!
I completely support the idea to do whatever you want to enjoy your car, but damn that clean panel being cut made my guts feel bad ! Cut was super clean though, you can see it's not his first ^^
Big Al’s Adaptors & Engineering! Impressive work mate👍 Nice job on the guards Mark! Are you sure you’re not Al’s older bikie brother🤣 Nice commentary Woody Attenborough👍😎🇦🇺
At the start I thought it would be easy to watch, cause it's "Just an old Datsun", but have to admit to feeling stressed watching those rear wheel arches being removed ;)
Good stuff as always guys. To late now but, being such a rare car might have been justification for making fibreglass (or carbon fibre) front guards and keeping the originals. Loving this project. 👍👍

He's a troll look at his account there is nothing in it.
Easily the best Australian car building/modifying channel on UA-cam. No BS, just some blokes doing what they love and well filmed and informative.
I don't know, Nugget Garage is full of informative "industry standard" methods not seen on the skid factory
I still can't get a handle on Al's sense of humour, but definitely worth the watch.
@@lewdog9647 I will check them out, thanks!
Id say the best world wide 👌
To be fair, there's plenty of BS... Just not fake tv drama.."If we don't get this done, we're going loose the shop!" Kinda stuff...
Haha the finger pointer is back, love it. Also the new mic is excellent in terms of sound quality and how silly it looks on Al's hat. 100% win.
I feel like it should be a middle finger though. 🤔
I like both the finger and the hat mic. Lolol
TSF should offer the finger pointers as merch!

No-lube rattle gun tapping... BRUTAL!
I agree with Kris lubrication makes a better set of threads!!!! And saves the Tap!! All the best from Canada
Confidence.
Never thought about it while he was doing it, but some Trefolex would have gone a long way there to a cleaner tap.
I’m waiting for Al to say “get the funk out” before a music montage
