Huss Ali This model costs a ridiculous amount to maintain so their resale value is not great. An 08 model in my area is being sold by a private seller for 27K with 22K miles on it in excellent condition with a clean title. There are many others as well. Been almost 2 years now and here's a quick update with the problems I've had; 1.) Pulley locked up and shredded belt.. All pulleies had to be replaced plus belt. Cost = $1,500 2.) Center console mechanism broke; $300 7.) New Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric all season tires- $1,000 8.) Kids at my school stole the tire caps; $10 for all 4 lol And brakes are gonna need to be replaced soon too.. Probably another $500-800 there.. But after 2 years total maintenance: $4,430 + Tax haha yeahhhh.... X_X
In case you haven't found the answer yet, cls63 is top model with best handling, hp, torque, and options. cls550 is below the 63, and the 350 would be like a base modelish version
For me the BEST LOOKING Merc post Y2K. Wish I had the privilege of owning one.....I love that there is still plenty of analogue buttons and knobs. I really cannot stand too much digital touch screen fodder in a car.
in late 2020, I picked up a ,100k example for $14k Original sticker was 109k (140k in 2020 money) so I paid 10% of the original retail price... I have had very few problems with it (and can repair myself if I did) best 14k I have ever spent.. except people think I have money! (I don't) I like the w219 (06-10) styling far more than the latter versions... People find it hard to believe that I could have purchased TWO of these beasts for what they paid for their Camrys... LMAO... love used German luxury!!
The actual residual value of this car in 2014 does not exempt the fact that it is still an expensive car to own. If you factor in the cost of ownership for its daily maintenance, tyres, fuel, tax, insurance and few other electrical niggles that may go wrong and which you need to put right during the course of ownership, you will quickly realise that these cars go hand in hand with deep fat wallets. Being able to afford this car even at 10k as you said which I strongly doubt does not mean that you are financially capable of maintaining these cars. Bear in mind that as these cars plummet, they fall into the reach of people who can barely afford them but cannot afford the daily upkeep or associated running costs. But if you find a very good independent specialist who will do the services for you, you will still pay a good sum to have them maintained but it will not be anywhere near what Mercedes stealership will charge you for even a simple 'A' service for a car of this calibre. Cars of this nature depreciate quickly because not everyone can afford to run a huge naturally aspirated V8 engine or even worse supercharged engines but the cost of maintenance is still colossal because of the high price tag when new and for the type of engine size associated to the vehicle. I have had my CLS (W219) 5.5 388 bhp 'designo model' for 4 years now fully loaded with AMG performance package and from experience, I can tell you that these cars are not cheap to run but they are pretty much bullet proof and I still struggle to find in 2014 a car to match the look of the former CLS. My car just had the CLS 6.3 AMG brake calipers & cluster upgrade and I still find her even more sexier like day one when I picked it up. Just a stunner !
Just find a guy that will do the repairs on the cheap. Maintaining this car isn't going to cost you a fortune if you're smart. The gas bill is the only thing that is bothersome but you can convert it to GAS and drive on the cheap. Sure, parts are more expensive but that's about it! If you're idiotic enough to go to the Mercedes dealership that's your own problem.

Hello Saabkyle. I enjoyed your review of the 2007 cls 63 amg. I will like you to make one for the 2009 cls 63 amg with the performance package i.e the 300km/h cls
I feel like the CLS takes on traits from all the other classes, like that center media console is the same as the one found in a W211 E Class. Not saying its bad but I find it pretty cool!
I was thinking the same thing but modern Benzes aren't the reliable beasts they were in the 80s. People get some serious electrical problems with them and do experience mechanical problems that shouldn't exist. They are solidly built cars and do drive great when they work right.
Go for it man! My father traded in his Black 2007 CLS63 AMG for a 2014 CLS63 AMG. He put 100k miles on that '07 and it never gave him any problems other than scheduled maintenance. He usually gets tired of a car every 2-3 years, but not this one! 7 happy years he drove this car. A buddy of his owns a shop that specializes in German car repairs and maintenance, so my father saved a ton of money getting the maintenance done there saving over 60% less than the dealer would charge... The hourly rate was almost 50% less too. He crossed shopped the prices. Luckily, all he needed was tires, alignments, brakes, and oil changes in those 100k miles, but it was nice knowing there are shops like this around God forbid something expensive broke after the warranty expired. There are other shops like this around if you search via google or whatever. Anyway, good luck man. You won't believe how freaking fast this car using all of it's 507 HP screaming to 7200 rpm banging gears through the 7 speed AMG Speedshift transmission! He took his bone stock 63 to Englishtown once and ran a best of 12.3 @ 116 and change with it beating the magazine times. It had about 35k miles on it though.
@saabkyle04 I really thought he did probably. Since everyone else was saying he actually DID trade it for the Hyundai. Good to know though, Thanks Kyle and keep the great videos coming! :D

procletnic yes, but luxury cars need more special maintenance, that is more expensive than regular cars.
Yes especially German luxury cars
