Hi Lyme Bay Fisherman, thank you for using my music “The Galapagos” at 23:24 🙏🏽Glad it can support your storytelling and your visuals. Much appreciated :)
Beautiful film and a powerful story. I used to work with the MMO around Lyme Bay and it's great to see new ideas and collaboration for the survival of the inshore fleet. I now work with the fishing industry over in Australia and I see similar narratives playing out on the other side of the world (an aging workforce, challenging regulatory environment, tight margins). All the best with the future, many of us in your corner supporting the survival of the inshore fleets.
Absolutely superb, and I agree with other commenters that this should be aired on national tv. I know the area very well, having fished from Beer for the last forty years, and Axmouth too in more recent years. I am full of admiration for these smaller commercial fishermen, and I agree with all of their sentiments. They should be listened to and helped, not strangled with red tape and burdened with disproportionate fees. Long may they continue.
Where have all the fish gone… well we have eaten them .. as our population grows. We have also lost many fish to bycatch, .. however, in one form or another we have consumed them. It’s great to see artisanal, sustainable level inshore fisheries being supported, the tenacity and steadfastness of those interviewed. There is heritage here. I realize too, there are a plethora of other impacts hitting the industry, sand mining, pollution from land entering the sea, low oxygen zones, and so on. In effect, as man navigates his / her life with our heavy demands on this planet, we cause our own self destruction. So, waking up, these initiatives are great. Well done ..
Superb filming and narrative! I know some of the fishermen in Lyme harbour who work very hard to make a living. Good on the MMO and Blue Marine for funding this, giving the CIC a voice on the web. Let us not forget that regulations are there to save fishermen's lives and to conserve fish stocks, but the fishermen themselves should always have a say in what is done.
What a brilliant film, this needs to be on the tv. As a yachtie who loves sailing around Lyme Bay, I wish the CIC all the very best for the future. To the Lyme Bay fisherman who have us a lobster because my wife had never tasted one, thank you, I hope you enjoyed the beers.
Thank you for sharing your experience, I enjoy watching your videos,

Just wonderful - beautifully told and filmed, thank you. Would love to the same story to be told for Worthing Fishermen - its happening all round the coast 🌊
Great video, it frustrates me to see all the fishermen around the U.K. struggling to make ends meet, I personally think our government should be helping the fishing industry in this country and getting the next generation keen to continue with traditional ways , I’d like to see the government financially helping all fishermen and relieving them of debt so that they can invest in equipment and apprenticeships, thank you for a great video, all the best in the future 👍
Excellent video, well shot (if a little dark) and orated. If only the bigger broadcasters would pick this up, but they are so busy selling the woke and self admiration agenda, I don’t suppose any of their producers could bother themselves.
They are resource extractors not custodians. They cannot expect to catch fish that are no longer there because they have already been caught for profit. It's like a miner complaining because they've already extracted all the gold.
miserable git! - always has to be one - well dont watch then, annoy someone else, clearly everyone else enjoyed it, oviousily a lot of hard work was put into this film, if you didnt like it then dont watch the rest of the film and leave out the criticism, its ok for you to not like it but no need write bad comments - just leave them out, to you sound like a right w..... - miserable git!
1 of the best videos showcasing just how hard the regulations are against our fisherman -- bravo
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much.

Great film. Should be on tv
Superb informative, inspiring and insightful.

Anyone know what hull the My Lady E28 is?
Really great film! Who was the director on this. Way better than anything on fishing on bbc. Great music too!
