I believe that I still have a bash guard for that model. May be a different year, and came from a redish/orange with black spots Performer I had. Broke it, welded it proper, broke it in a different spot. I had original Suntour freecoaster hub 48 spoke, and Installed Standard Unbrake with cro mo axle. The engagement was good enough for dirt and ramp. Good vid. Reminds me that I'm old
I've only ever seen one other 90 gt performer with the purple/yellow decals on chrome and that's the one I have now that I have owned since brand new in 1990.
Hi,great video I think I have just picked up the same bike thats in very similar condition,im not an expert but is there a way of knowing for sure the year of it?
that way I won't swirl the chrome at all. be prepared to buy a lot of polish and they even sell those extensions that go on the end of a drill. they are soft spongy extensions made to spin out all that rust ur looking at
I got the 2016 modern of this and my friend had the 2019 yellow newest model. I wish I could have a older model cause they are what I liked that caused me to get a performer in a modern model. I want a late 90s model sooooo bad.
Super helpful. What a great video. Thanks for posting. I’ve watched it multiple times. Great job!
Thanks so much! Maybe a few people out there will consider restoring their old bikes instead of turning everything into an 87 Performer clone 😆
Awesome set of videos, I've watched em all. I'm going to attempt a mid 90's GT refurb. I'm going to use your technique for the rear pegs. Thanks

Awesome! Yeah I had a 91 that was the lava splatter at some point, but by the time it got to me had been spray painted :(

I had the crome crash dummy pro performer tour it was over 500$ i had the gt wing crank it was the nicest one on street
A ball of aluminum foil and water works really well to clean the rust off of the chrome
I guess it is kind of off topic but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released series online?
@Kyson Dawson I watch on Flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Ellis Clark definitely, I've been watching on FlixZone for years myself :D

@@hightimes7106 awesome! Good luck
Diamond in the rough
I have the same 1 done to logo
What are you talking about? Really the only difference between a 90 and 91 is the winged seat and different decals.
They are certainly similar. Did 91's have a different stem?
I’ll Buy it
What about dyno gt old school scooter
I've got an old BMX style scooter somewhere. Future project maybe, we'll see
@@joelyoung9519 ok can’t wait to see it
If you don’t have this bike today you would be kicking yourself I been buying as many rusty pieces of junk I can afford
Thanks! Best of luck with yours, let me know if you make a video
just buy mother's polish and buff the hell out of it with a old t-shirt
