the atomization of that gun is really nice. I have a mango Bug and it is a slight bit dirtier color. I wish we had that kapci in direct gloss. I would probably use it too. Love the Kapci 6030....I also have used a bit of the Kapci Latica which is pretty nice inexpensive clear. They both go down about the same. Seems like you cant go too wet on the second coat or 3rd. just flows out really smoot. Of course if you burry it it will run but it is almost hard to do. It flows out really perfect. Polishes really easy especially after setting for 3 days. Great Value IMO material. Really good quality too.
Hi Tony, really enjoyed the video and the live chat last night it seemed like there was quite a few on the channel which was good. The WS400 OBS really seemed to put the 2K gloss down nice plus it was fairly quick doing it, as that setup is really meant for basecoat I didn't think it would be that good. I just watched the video again and I liked the colour even more so I may give it a try in base and clear at some point. Anyway mate it's great to see another video from you and I'm looking forward to the next one👌👍
Tony great job once again! I really enjoy seeing you work on these old bay window buses. I’m in the process of restoring a 71 bay and almost ready for primer. I have a few questions to ask you, if you was using two part base - clear will you still use the same method of going over it with a lower gun setting for a lighter first paint coat, like you did on this job? Also, what brand of seam sealer you use on the van? I will love to see a video doing all the seam sealing on one of these vans! Thank you for the videos and your great advice!
Hi mate could you by any chance tell me if I can use monofil fine stopper over cured 2k acrylic filler primer it's the novel 355 00 or do I have to use that dolphin glaze. It's just for a few pinholes. Everyone seems to say you can't use filler over primer but I see you doing it so it must be ok. Help appreciated thanks
Hi Tony was just wondering if when you are doing your voice over if you could include some discussion on how you work out the pattern of spraying ie where you start on a panel and which panel you normally start on. Thanks and still loving the series.
Like to watch the video big man and as I'm not a trained painter I learn a lot , that said I've been painting for 12 years and run two small in house paint shops , so back to my question, you are a very good painter but how many other guys in the shop paint and if any let's see a wee bit of theirs, cheers looking forward to the next vid
G'day Tony, Another great video. I've been following this van job from the start as im restoring my 67 split window kombi. I've used all the same products that you have used and it's looking good. Not quite at paint stage yet but I'm getting there. A question. The gun I have is a devilbiss GTI PRO LITE with a 2.5 nozzle. How do you think my set up will go using the direct gloss. Thanks for sharing man ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Hi mate love the video! i’m thinking about getting a series 2 obs myself specifically for direct gloss, i currently have the ws400 and ls400 series 2 for base and clear and i’m wondering if you would go for the obs or the ls400 clear for just direct gloss? i have used the ls400 for direct gloss in the past and was happy with the finish i achieved but if the obs gives a flatter finish i would much prefer that! thanks 👍
@@TonysRefinishingTV Think i am going to go for the Obs mate cheers! have you by any chance tried the ws400? i’ve used that with the standox direct gloss and found that was good too but im wanting to get something that can provide a nice flat finish for gloss for the bigger jobs
Its looking the boll*cks buddy , all that graft is well worth it again the owner will be over the moon. I've bought some Kapci 6050 clear and just wondering whats the difference from the 6030 i've been using is it just the high solid content or is there more advantage to it ? Cheers Tony.
So much work such a beautiful outcome I hope the owner is chuffed to nuts with it
0:09 top stuff mate and great to see the bus “in the flesh” yesterday!

People don't know how much prep work is involved in spray painting. So much skill involved.
Killer work. Just POV and voice-over is the formula. Appreciate your expertise and wisdom.
Stunning spray out Tony....Body looks really nice too. your hard work paid off.

Great idea
What was the cosy for this job?
I need the same for my bus but I don't know what I'm looking at price wise £2k-£10k?
For the sameprep and finish?
Great advice
Awesome paint job, now that looks like it is single stage not with the clearcoat.
Another great job Tony , what sealer do you use in the seams
Hi Tony. Can I ask how much gloss did this job take? Cheers
Gotta love it 🔥👌🏽
