      Very good videos your like a brutish version of the gunman!
      Genuine question what’s the reason you don’t wet the floor?
      I find it I didn’t wet mine I would have dust issues?

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  2 роки тому +1

      The few times I have I’ve always accidentally flicked water off the floor onto the car so instead before I roll the car in the booth i airline the floor off into the filters with the booth running to get rid of as much excess dust as I can mate

      @@TonysRefinishingTV I was worries about that.
      Last time I was spraying I poured water on the floor and swept it around.. so no pudding or anything large enough that could be flicked up.

    Another great video! Cheers mate. I'm in the process of getting my MGB GT Sebring ready for paint. I've done all the work on the car myself, including the V8 engine swap and really wanted to do everything on the car myself if possible, but the paint was an area I was really worried about. I found your videos at the end of last year and have been binge watching like crazy. The detail you go into and how you show all of the steps in the process is awesome and really given me the courage to go for it and do it myself. This Mini series is awesome and it's been perfect for helping me know all the details needed, so just a huge thank you from me!!

    Hey I got some of that Kapci clear flows like glass. easy to spray. The only thing I found is that it likes when you use a clear blender underneath on a blend panel. So like a intercoat clear under it keeps it from fisheye. otherwise it does some strange stuff when over sanded clear. I used Universal clear blend panel then painted the base over that which eliminates the sand scratches on the blend. WORKED FANTASTIC....sprayed it to perfect gloss very little cut and buff.

    Beautiful work! I'll eventually be painting my project in direct gloss..... I've only done base coat and clear before when I did smart repairs. With direct gloss would I need a dry/grabber first coat? Thanks

      No mate apply it just like you would clear mate two full wet coats

    Awesome job Tony!..I have a question my urethane primer converts to a wet-on-wet sealer as well with the addition of reducer but I was always concerned of the edges being rough before I shoot the base and I see you used it like that without a fade-out spray, I definitely have to try it like that then. I’ve always just used transtar’s auto primer in rattle can and hit the little spots, wait the drying period, lightly sand with 800 and shoot but this method will save me a shit load of time!,

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  2 роки тому

      It’ll be fine aslong as it’s thinner down enough I also find some slow reducer helps it to lay smoother too

    Good video, enjoy watching. One question, If the car was completely bare metal it would be done with epoxy, why then on the rub throughs on the high build is it only gone over with WOW? Surely if its bare metal it would need protecting again?

    Hiya Tony ! couple of things. As you know I'm respraying my Riley RMA . Stopped just before Xmas because it was too freekin cold in my garage. So, in my garage I have a humidity and temp gauge. At what point am I ok to start again? I think celly is 50% humidity and 50 deg temp but Im using 2k now ?? I have got one of those "little Devil" space heaters but again, Im not sure if they cause humidity?? The other thing is , watching you "tweeking your gun as you look at the fan pattern, what exactly are you looking at/for? I bought the FLG5 and its great but I would love to know what to look for ??
    Cheers again mate...and Tony ..please look after yourself mate. take it easy pal !

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  2 роки тому +1

      I’d try and atleast wait till it’s say 10-15c ideally or above mate use fast hardener too that’ll help mate the space heater should be fine the humidity from that will be nothing compared to the heat it’ll pump out in my opinion but obv be carefull of exposed flames and fumes , the flg mate you can run full fan and at 2.0 bar air pressure 28-30psi as for fluid set it at day two turns out from fully closed , if it feels to wet shut the fluid off a tad if it feels to dry then add more fluid ect ect
