Yeah, I think it's important to emphasise that Stevie saying "he's a dick" about Raven is based on *initial* impressions. I think even Raven himself would tell you that, especially back in the 90's, he was an asshole. Probably in part because of the character, in part because of his real personality and his personal demons, which were really bad back then. Raven of all people should have one of those producer jobs they give the former pros. When you listen to him on his podcast he knows how to do so much with so little. Wrestling truly is a soap opera mixed with roller derby. There is drama, a mixture of combustible personalities, and no lack of people talking openly about their feelings towards other characters.
Raven sounds like the kinda guy, who you had to hit for real in the ring. Some wrestlers wait for just the right time to punish you for disrespect. Andre put the Warrior in his place a few times. Of course they can tell on you, so you'd have to make sure to have friends in the locker room. They could defend you to the boss, or discourage the guy from telling. There have been times where, one guy hit another for real in a match. Knowing the people would think, it was part of it.
You don't know because you weren't there, Stevie had to spend every single day working with Raven on and off the ring and at the time in ECW had a closer working relationship with each other professionally but also personally knew each other very well. Raven would tell you how he was even if he may not reveal the whole story since many people, not just Stevie have their stories of Raven and how he was and they all pretty much make similar points about him, plenty of people who have been at signings who Raven had an issue with over minor things that Stevie had to step in and apologise for and try to make the situation better. It's not a 'maybe it's you if you don't get along' situation, so you're telling me someone can be a huge dick causing problems in some situations just because they have their own personal issues that they take out on people yet the person who has done nothing wrong and tried their best to do things right and even apologise, held his hands up and tried to move on was the person who had the issue? Maybe you are also a narcissist.

Wasn’t going to comment to the last second. We met Raven in a bar. He was ok. We bought him a drink. He toasted, to himself. Lol
Lmao
Feinstein is such a weird interviewer.
Stevie did his best to get ever idea they gave him over, I wish more guys would do that.
Stevie Richard's. The Family Dollar HBK 👍
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Better than the Young Bucks though.
@@msmpassat no question about it man.
Bruhahahahahaha
Actually, Stevie's in better shape, still has his hair and both of his eyes point the same direction so I'd say Stevie's doing better these days.
"WHAT ABOUT ME? WHAT ABOUT THE RAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I saw raven wrestle on wcw thunder live ecw house show in Richmond VA then in WWF back when they was on tnn raw ...But my favorite moment of his career was at the raw show I think he was the hardcore champ for the 14th time coming back to my set a black guy jump out in front of me and said yo that mother fucker is wearing a raven shirt 😅😅😅😅😅
I'm met Raven 2 years ago at a comic thing here's my favorite wrestler for a long time had so many questions for him but I couldn't spit them out he was cool with his fans telling he was a different from his wrestling days
Other than that making sure six-year-olds can see drag shows is essential.
@@sandyunderpants4376 what the hell are you talkin about
@@paulcarpenter7844 Don't act like you don't know.
@@sandyunderpants4376 no for real elaborate
i met raven at a waffle house in nashville during his TNA days. he couldnt have been a nicer guy
He sounds a LOT like Edge
If I'm getting paid 85k a year in the 90s (over a $160k today) to be squashed, then I'm getting squashed.
This is sooo old. He says now he wouldn't have had a career without Raven.😊
He said that in this video, too.
Wonder if Raven/Scott ever reached out to Stevie to apologise and make amends. He really should.
Slurs aren't truth. If that is what happened.
Stevie actually wrestled in ECW and he was dam good
My memories of Raven were of him being a great guy from my meeting with him
I remember Raven calling a pod cast. I think Steve Austin's. He called just to complain about some insignificant thing Benoit did 25 years ago. He just went on and on.
It was about how benoit did his moves too fast not giving his opponents time to sell Benoit's offense, austin agreed. I never really noticed it tbh
@@felixcolon599 That is what made him the rabid wolverine.
@Dave Thomas. It kinda sounds like you are the one complaining lol
Raven was an asshole. I fought him after a match in Philly at a bar on Broad st. I was drinking with Dreamer and my man Jimbo (Sandman). Raven showed up and was harassing me, calling me Mark. It's a long story. New Jack showed up and bitched me up. Lol. Yes I fought Scott and I backed down to Jack
@@felixcolon599 I could see how guys with a big ego could hate Benoit. He was small but mentally bigger than most. That was his character
That music is obnoxious
Really sucks that Stevie had to go through that with someone that he looked at as a mentor. I hadn't heard that Bishoff thought of maybe giving him more of a character or giving hom the chance to get higher up the card. Sad it didn't materialize do to not only the politics of WCW but also some insecurities from ECW and Stevie sadly.
Went to a signing back in the day with Stevie and Raven and Stevie was cool but Raven was standoffish...
He was a heel
Mr. Anonymous Yeah but so was Sandman but at his signings he was fantastic
@@scoonman Yeah, the guy who made his every entrance through the crowd, who sung his theme, as he drank and gave his fans beer. Huge heel.
Holy shit this wasn't at Montreal by any chance. My uncle and I had a real bad experience with Raven and stevie Richards came over afterward and apologized for Ravens actions. Stevie Richards is a stand up guy in my opinion.
@@russellcampbell3500 Top man Stevie
Maven..Raven..WHAT??
Watching this as stevie and raven are standing in the ring on ecw
Raven never seemed to deliver. He would come in with this huge momentum and this just fizzle. Waste of talent really.
Never will forget raven telling me as a kid qt rhe royal rumble in Atlanta 2002 or 2001he wasn't gonna sign my randy moss jersey.
I love Raven
Raven is a trash interview also
Eric Bischoff has said repeatedly - that he found raven absolutely insufferable as a human being - difficult, extremely negative, always complaining, bitter. He probably felt a bit sorry for Stevie being stuck with him.
“Daddy wasn’t there!
To take to the fair!
To change my underwear!
Daddy wasn’t there!”
Yeahh Steveie's Dad issues quite sad 😔.
Couldnt take a better hint from a human being
I've even heard Tori(Terri Poch) had heat with Raven as well!
there was a point when i thought jeff hardy and raven where the same person
Raven is one of my all-time favorite wrestlers but sucks to hear he's a jerk irl. Sadly, not surprised. May have been why he was a good heel.
Always been a big Stevie fan as well. Underrated talent and seems like a decent guy who put up with a toxic abuser.
The glory days are far better than anything in wrestling today and Raven was a treasure to the wrestling business. Still is. Don't knock someone for doing what they needed to do to fight some pain and/or get out of their own heads for awhile. Comes off as intolerant, Stevie. Raven was a master at everything he did. PERIOD!
Big Stevie cool
Wow great podcast. What does Steven the jobber Richard’s think of raven the jobber raven?
He reflects on when he saw him last 1997, he is s as jerk.
Boring
Wrestling truly is a soap opera mixed with roller derby. There is drama, a mixture of combustible personalities, and no lack of people talking openly about their feelings towards other characters.
Bristol high school in Bristol. Neshaminy high school in Langhorne.kinda crazy you guys were there. Any idea what year that was?
May 1995
1980s late drugs turning into 90s drugs Duhh
So the whole "what about me?" thing wasn't just a character.
Stevie voice changed because he had neck surgery.
Armchair psychologising, Scott seems to have power issues and trouble controlling his dominant side in an empathetic, humane way.
I didn’t think the Raven gimmick went over very good in WcW.
I never really got into the whole ecw raven and wcw and wwe I remember Stevie was Victoria's valet
Stevie sounds like the whiner here if your trainer and your partner both don't get along without you maybe its you?
@@codesm96 Alot of words with not much point. Stevie whines about people and people say Stevie was a selfish shill but ya I'm a narcissist lol. Who do I believe him or everybody else? The BWO does shows why isn't he with them? Surely not selfish nonsense lol.
Sad, the money maker in ECW was Taz, no one else and I do not like Taz. Raven only drew a bit of money in WCW as a midcarder. Stevie never drew a dime, great worker but just keepin' it real.
Is the interviewer Todd Grisham?
i dont think he said anything that raven wouldnt agree with
I’m confused….Didn’t Rob Feinstein get outed as a child predator??? I’m legit asking, like maybe Im wrong. I don’t get why wrestlers kept doing these interviews with him…
Sounds like Shane Douglas...
Is there anyone Stevie Richards won't talk shit about?
Cold Philly streets will chew u up & spit u out. Don't let em wreck u. Need to adopt an attitude like a coconut. Hard on the outside but stay milky in the middle.
Johnny Polo!
Stevie wasn't lying raven was not big money draw like he thought i mean he was entertaining but he was no hulk hogan
He wasn't a face, and he could have gotten just as many people want to watch Hogan beat him as any of Hogan's big opponents.
@@mr.anonymous5501 True but when Hogan turned heel he still drew
@@phillipconner1213 Yes, although mostly in the same way as any heel, people paid to come watch him get beat up. That still requires another great babyface. Although, as it was Hogan, I'm sure there was always a percentage of people who just wanted to say they'd seen one of hid matches, and who weren't even invested in the current storylines, but the Hogan character in general. Still, that's no knock on Raven. All the great heels; Piper, Jake, Flair, Lawers, all only drew when paired with an equally great babyface. Raven's definitely one of the best heels of the last 30 years.
What’s the “New York clique”?
Kevin Nash, Triple H, Sean Waltman/Syx Pac, Scott Hall, Shawn Michaels and sometimes Billy Gunn
Seems like the only people who say raven was cool were the ones traveling with him in wcw (steve austin/mick foley)
Thank God that wrestlers today don't have this mentality anymore.. And look where Raven's career ended up. the gutter
Stevie Al Snow got all the answers but never made any money
Al Snow in ECW Was Huge and Stevie had a Preety nice Run as a Mid carder , so I don't know what your talking about 😂 Guess you only saw their Wwe run , Vince didn't like to push Talent he didn't invent himself
Stevie is so emo

He was so annoying as Johnny Polo, especially on commentary.
Yeah but wasn't raven also part of creative, setting up the matches...some people become dicks as they move up the food chain
Raven was smarter than other people around him so it's why he was offputting to others.
Did he say he was money in the ring?
Bischoff saw the Stevie kick and called him Shawn Michaels.
This interview sounds like an alternate reality.
I could see Bischoff saying something like this and then immediately moving on to something that actually matters.
