Al día de hoy la mayoría de los chilenos no sabe el privilegio que tuvo al escuchar esta versión.
What’s remarkable about this performance is that it’s almost note by note exactly the same as the original. The phrasing is identical also. Given that there are so many acrobatics involved in the original version, mimicking it perfectly is remarkable.
It’s also evident that he is an incredible performer, absolute virtuoso, his voice is masterfully controlled throughout.
Altho on the album version does he not say 'the knife wants to slit me' rather than in this concert version where he changes 'slit' for 'cut'?
There’s also a demo version that is slightly different, but the majority is exactly the same which, agreed, so incredible

No se que es mas impresionante si la canción de los Smiths interpretada tan majestuosamente como solo Morrissey puede hacerlo o el publico que no tenia ni puta idea que estaba haciendo ahí.
creo que no revisaron quien iba a estar en el escenario o creyeron que iba a estar rihanna de invitada, dudo que esta gente sepa quien tenian en frente, a lo mejor lo googlearon cuando llegaron a su casa.
una cosa es lo que se ve en la televisión, y otra cosa es lo que realmente pasó allí... la mayoría de los que aparecen en el video son actores famosos en Chile, gente que va a mostrar lo cool que son, etc... pero no filmaron nada de la galeria, ahí estabamos los fanáticos de Morrissey y la atmosfera era completamente distinta. Además, si oyen bien, hay gente coreando las canciones... gente que no sale en cámara. Es facil comentar y quejarse siendo fanático y no saber lo que pasa del otro lado.

Wow, the way Morrisey holds himself when performing this song is incredible, it's clear he wrote this during a turbulent time, the fact he has to stop to compose himself shows this.
Such an incredible lyricist, I cannot express how much of a genius I think Morrisey is when it comes to songwriting. His lyrics capture cynicism and misery with such accuracy, to the point where it can be so painfully truthful.

Incredible to see Morrissey playing to a crowd who clearly came to see something else! Each time the camera cuts to the crowd is hilarious.... someone trying to mouth the words who has never heard the song before - a woman yawning - another laughing at Morrissey’s vocal gymnastics.
Interesting though because he hasn’t let it affect him at all. A beautiful song, beautifully performed!

Viimane my best guess is that it adds character, and allows room for more expression. for example, during the “if you’re so clever” section, you could sing out of beat to make it sound like you’re mocking the other person.
