A wonderful person who says things honestly. Love his films and the way he does his craft.

I must find more interviews where he is encouraged to be open about his craft .
So many press interviews that I have seen, where the interviewer( usually American) is trying to get him to respond to trivia and you can see he is an intelligent man who doesn`t suffer fools gladly .
I go back to The Water Diviner more than his other films ,great though they are. There is something very much about the human condition that comes out throughout the film.
I do notice that the `villains ,if there are any ,are the British !

The Water Diviner will always be relevant, particularly if your grandfather was in The Second World War. It would be nice however to see Russell come home to make a few great Australian movies again.

Russell Crowe “was nervous behind belief” or beyond belief. Typo?

The interviewer is ignorant about the topic, it sounds like he is not educated on this topic.. Russell Crowe is a great personality, he immediately spotted out this mistake, politely..respect to Crowe's work..he is such an open minded person.

To add there has been perspectives from the German side for the First World War: The book All Quiet On the Western Front adapted twice on film.

he is just saying that english speaking peoples have fought against others in wars, eg germans and turks and others, but are just now beginning to think about it from the perspective of those they fought.
