    I agree. I have a GMX-212 equipped with 2X60 watt Bugera speakers. If you crank all the knobs to the top while you're playing and kill the speakers, that's not a reliability issue, it's a user issue. I've had mine for two years and it sounds just fine.

    Diode Clipping is a distortion achieved not by the saturation of the power valves, but in the pre-amp stage adding a circuit similar to a stomp box. So the distortion of the signal is achieved by a diode or a transistor saturation like in solid state amps. This system was first increased on Marshalls JCM 900. So the sound is a mix of tube and diode saturation. No big deal, is a matter of taste, since almost all the rock guitar players do this when they use a overdrive for boost.

    Great point there - It's beter to make reviews of amps with mid price range guitars, because it's not like everyone can afford a 3000$ gibson... And that way you can show really what the amp is made of...

    @ultimateinfinite, No, its was Randall Smith, owner/founder of Mesa/Boogie hotrodding Fender amps. He use to use the Princeton output transformers and the 59 Bassman circuits as the base for the early Mesa's. His first amp not built on a Fender circuit or with a Princeton output transformer, was the one that Carlos Santana played, the very first Mark I and thats when Santana said, man this thing really "boogies". Hence the name Mesa/Boogie.

    I just recently bought this amp and I was astonished at how much gain it had. Then I realized I was only plugged into the low gain input. This thing has more juice than Tropicana. It kind of has a wishy-washy tone to it though, but for the price I was happy.

    @wowspare It's been said time and time again, but yes, it's based on the Peavey 6505 and the 6262+ is based on the 6505+.

    The "fizz" issue is largely one of the bias. Like the 5150 and 5150 II, the Bugera 6260 and 6262 are biased cold with 6L6 tubes for long tube life. You can adjust the bias hotter to eliminate the crossover distortion problems and fizziness that sometimes happen if the tubes get old or are biased too cold. Check Eurotubes for advice on this with Bugera amplifiers.

    When asking the Chinese to build something for mass production they ask you if you want 1) high quality 2) medium quality or 3) low quality. In other words they are capable of building to a higher quality, depending on how the order is set up. And they prefer building to a higher quality. The Bugera has been an amp that has crapped out for some folks. . however, Behinger, the parent company does stand by their warranty and will replace something very quickly if you have a problem.

    Separating out the clean/crunch channel pre-amplification means that the 6262 lead channel has less gain than the 6260, but more headroom, with better articulation. Give a listen to the several 6262 clips mtuck5150 has done, or the comparison between the 6262 and 333XL dingle1 did. 6262 has a nice dark, metal distortion, especially if you don't abuse the presence setting. I like doom metal sounds so to me, that's cool.

  • @TheBackwoodsMassacre
    @TheBackwoodsMassacre 14 років тому

    @Julesw01 Dude, you can make almost ANY amp make whatever sound you want. This thing has a clean channel... with a little overdrive (such as an ibanez ts808) you could get a great blues/jazz tone even. Then dial back the gain on the amp'z distortion itself, keep your overdrive on maybe, and you'll have your leads. Any amp is as versatile as you make it.

  • @whoobibi
    @whoobibi 14 років тому

    I'm not sure I consider the 6262 and upgrade over the 6260, so much as a difference. The 6260 has clean, crunch and lead modes also, with independent reverb and master volume, the major difference is that the 6262 adds an additional pre-amp tube in order to separate out the pre-amplification on the clean channel and has independent eq for the clean/crunch and lead channels. The difference is intended to track the difference between the 5150 and the 5150 II. Better clean on the 6262?

    I've been playing since I was a teen and I am 34 now. I played a 333XL half recently and it was 'alright' at best. Then I saw why. Made in China on the back of the head. This demo sounded better than the 333, but if it's also Chinese I have my doubts it will last any amount of time. When they say these amps are cheap...they ain't kiddin'. Nice try Bugera.

    Did you notice what guitar Paul is playing?
    It's an Epiphone LP Custom. Pickups are just average. It's about time someone demo'd without EMG's, or playing a real LP or EVH Ernie Ball. My crazy ass point is, this amp makes average sounding guitars sound HUGE! Thanks Paul for reprosentinting with a guitar that the masses own.

    @ThomasMetal75 13 років тому

    Granted you can't get the Peavey 6505/6505+ for under $400 like with this 6202, but you can find used 5150's for under $800 and even $700 if you look at Guitar Center and other music stores with used gear. So, the 6202 is the next best if you really want one of the Peavey's and cannot afford it.

  • @InFuriatedShadows

    @MattiGardners, it depends if you switch from clean channel to distortion alot. I mean if you play alot of songs that have a very diverse sound in the clean channel compared to the distortion, or you want sumfin like that, then you prob want another EQ. I like having a jangly clean tone with alot of bass. When I want distortion, I want ALOT of mids less bass than a clean channel and more treble. My amp shares an EQ, I need to set it in the middle of my desired tone for distortion n clean.

    @ExplodeEd 6262 has seperate eq for lead and clean. clean channel has a crunch switch. thats really the only difference. no difference in sound or tone just extra features

  • @coma-body-stilllife
    @coma-body-stilllife 14 років тому

    well it gives you more option but what i find happens with seperate eq, when the eq on the clean is alot differant than the distortions eq it has no resemblance and sounds realy off. if your finacy about that sort of thing get the higher model, but with an extra 100 bux u can get a noise gate if you dont have one.

  • @ctalbert1
    @ctalbert1 14 років тому

    @Namnrax I agree, and can't wait to get a 333XL. I go back and forth between Bugera videos and A/B them immediately with videos of Mesa, Engl, Marshall, etc amps with similar riffs, & here similar tones. If I didn't know better, I would say that in many cases, the Bugeras sound better and MORE EXPENSIVE. Every brand of amp has a few bad apples. I have a friend who blew up two Marshall heads because he played them loud often. He didn't complain on YT about it, but will never buy another Marshall.

  • @LoganBoyle12
    @LoganBoyle12 14 років тому

    im gonna buy one of these and i had this same dilema, but in the end i thought about it and really, i want this amp for the lead channel for playing 80's rock stuff, so the clean channel sort of takes a back seat there, but it really depends what you want this amp for

    Well first off, these tube heads are LOUD and aren't really good for bedroom playing if you know what i mean. So really you should only use these for band practices etc.
    But the main difference is the 6260 has two channels, but the two channels share a 3-band eq. On the 6262 the channels have their own respective EQ's.

    no, no, not 'just' the headstock but their overall look. most epis look like they've been laminated like a piece of paper especially compared to their gibson versions. sure this is due to the polyurethane, i understand, BUT the gibsons to me i notice have this more defined, edgier, 'adult' look to them unlike the epis and most gibsons come with nickel hardware rather than the chrome which come with most epis

    @drugdrunkker definatlely the bugera 6260, it is tube driven and will give the great sound of the peavey 6505+ or 5150. The spider iv wont sound anywhere near as good (very muddy and unlcear) i have one, im looking to sell it. The down side on the bugera is that no in built effects are on board as there are in the line 6, but you can always add pedal on the fx loop for the bugera. I payed $630 bucks for my line 6 in Australia and i could get a bugera online cheaper. Go for the bugera.

  • @SufferDYT
    @SufferDYT 13 років тому

    @megaluisdeth yea but id get a nice od pedal to put in front of it so you can use the clean/crunch channel for rhythm and the lead channel for solos and whatnot. the crunch channel on this amp really cant get past ac/dc type tones. the lead channel is pretty bad sounding for rhythm imo. also dont get the matching cabinet because it is very cheap and very bad sounding. it makes the amp sound like a spider II if you play anything but clean

  • @evilpoptartz7
    @evilpoptartz7 13 років тому

    @gtjumper I'm guessing you have never played either of those amps. I have the 6262 and its sounds just as good as any peavy. The clean channel is punchy clear and sweet- most underrated thing about this amp. I could dial up a fat SRV in seconds. This amp is more of a soldano clone than anything . It looks kinda like a peavey but is a very versatile amp. The gain channel trumps my 1000$+ Marshall DSL. Its heavier than the DSL even when I have a tube screamer in front of the marshall.
