I think I've gifted two people with a Mass Effect game already, convinced at least two more to buy it and have recommended it to literally everyone else with a remote interest in sci-fi. I felt it would add to their lives a special touch of amazement, just as it did to mine... And now I watch all those wonderful tributes to the series, which is occasionally interrupted be the sad thought that I can share them with hardly anyone, since so few people have actually played the full trilogy, and know all the details...
Ive never felt more of a connection to any other game more than I have to the Mass Effect series. A truly inspirational game; I'm glad to say It's my favorite. :]
All of us felt that way. That is why ending of ME3 is so despised. If it was a game no-one play, the end might not suck, ok it would have sucked, but no-one would have cared.
I am just starting out, could you give me your opinion on my 2 tributes? Thus far I have 2 cinematic tributes: /watch?v=BEsQ2HiTQ8w /watch?v=twau4CFa36E Hope you enjoy! :) Note: I love Mass Effect too!! Amazing trilogy!
amazing job ! That Quote " Boldly they rode and well" was used at the ceremony for my fallen brethren at the MCB Hawaii after thier CH-53's crashed into the ocean so seeing it used so well here brought rivers of tears to my face. Well done , well done indeed.
I get goosebumps every time starting at 1:43. To hear Shepard say, "You're not in this fight alone" and then see the entire Sword Fleet warp in... it's a thing of beauty.
They give your character so much...character. I love this game, they let you life out your person to the best of his/her abilities and idk this game is honestly a very satisfying work of art.
Thank You for the great tribute to an Amazing Game. Im not afraid to admit that when Grunt, Legion, Mordin, Thane and all the others sacrificed themselves for the greater good that it brought a few tears to my eyes (especially Legion)....
Sorry for late reply. Differences between original and Extended Cut. Make a choice - synthesis, destroy, control. You die in all except 1 possible destroy scene with high galactic readiness. Mass Relays are destroyed, Normandy is stranded on a strange planet and your crew is trapped. People can't travel through the systems anymore. Extended cut talked about "Relays are damaged but can be repaired" as well as showing why your crew was on the Normandy. Also added an ending in which you lose.
I liked that there was not a huge boss battle. Every game seems to end in some climatic fight with the arch villain. It was refreshing to have this one, such a HUGE and EPIC tale, end in the simplistic route. Shepard doesn't need to go out in a blazing fight - he already did that in ME1 and ME2. He needed to stop, think, make his choice, assess the situation, and decide the fate of the WHOLE GALAXY. Such a huge decision. That's even more climatic than a boss fight in my opinion.
I feel like I shouldn't have watched this before playing through ME3, but I couldn't resist the siren song of a new Genol3oost video in my sub box. Fantastic work as always!
Amazing video, Plus Two steps from Hell music is perfect, in fact i have the album and have it as part of my Mass Effect playlist because i cannot hear the music now without thinking of your videos.
In the "Jaws of Death", you'll never be alone. You will have brothers and sister right behind you, they are the one who will stick with you through the thick and thin. And you know they are your friends because, you wouldn't be in the jaws of death in the first place without them.
they do impact the game, just in minor ways. the rachni queen/clone, the collector base and the outcome of the geth heretics change the value of some war assets. Tali and Legion both have to be alive to get peace between the quarians and the geth (preventing her exile also helps) and if grunt isn't removed from the tank, sure he gets replaced but that krogan dies at the end of the mission. It was only really the very end where they completely fucked up.
I could be mistaken but I think that the scene of ash and Shep together a second time and onward is supposed to be postwar events with the Reapers defeated and Shepard finally able to relax with his friends.
Listen no joke i you do amazing with whats just in the game if you were able to create it like the devs i truly think mass effect would be 500 times better, well done again.
@Genol3oost, I have never watched a video that made me return over and over. It even made me create an account to say this. But i have looked over and over for amazing mass effect tributes, and i found it Thank you
Have you noticed that EVERY time you watch a mass effect video, or talk about it in a forum, or anything about it really, relates you to the ending? The Ending is THAT bad that the fans just can't get it out of their system!
Mass Effect has always, -ALWAYS- been about beating impossible odds. Shepard did this in Mass Effect 1 when Sovereign almost brought the Reapers through. Shepard did this in Mass Effect 2 when he was resurrected AND when he survived the suicide mission. I'll be damned if Shepard can't pull one last act of beating impossible odds to save the galaxy. That's the theme of Mass Effect: hope. Shepard doesn't need to survive, all he needs to do is save everyone else, without destroying the galaxy.
I killed so many, for reasons still unknown to me. For what it was worth I will never know near know what was needed. Life is precious, so much for the need of soldiers for me or against I hope the future mothers/fathers can teach us to respect life.
i cry whenever i see this, especially when it gets to 1:50 and you see a whole army coming to try to save earth. imagine if this were played on earth during that time. it's remembering when it was just shepard and his crew against the reapers that make one really appreciate that this time they aren't in this alone: they have a whole army to fight with them now
a salute to the BEST sci fi epic of this era a salute to the men and women that made this series a series for the ages AND DOWN WITH EA um i mean the reapers i love this series and i always will even if ea fucks with it to no tomarrow
Nice vid. Btw I think that Garrus is the best squad member/friend in the whole serie, then probably Liara and Tali. Wish all the others were pictured as good.
The original ending for the game had the relays exploding (implying a supernova for each system they were in), damaged the Normandy and stranding the crew on a jungle world with probably no hope for rescue due to everyone else being died. Also, your shepard died in every playthrough except for those who managed to use an app to get their readiness level to the max possible and then you got the breath scene at the end. The Extended Cut did fixed some issues but the ending still felt lacking.
Bioware has already announced the plot of ME4. At the end of ME3 the catalyst says "The created always revolt against the creators" or something along those lines right? Well earlier in the game Shepard calls Garrus "king of the bottle shooters" and says he will call him whenever the bottles revolt. Bottles are created by people. The people are creators of the bottles. ME4: Revenge of the bottles. "A more menacing threat than the Reapers has revealed itself."
If you don't talk to him, he just dies off-screen (Presumably from his illness) anyway. You'll find his name on the memorial wall later on in the game.
@goldenthao oh no he doesn't actually die but the game sets you up to make you think hes going to die... you know when he tackles the Ravager off the cliff
there is no final boss, but the last enemy you kill is a Marauder, and you know how bosses always have their name over their hp bars well his reads Marauder Shields so hence Marauder Shields, tried to save you from the ending, he died to protect us :P
apparently casey hudson and priesley were the only people who wrote the ending if you dont want to blame bioware or ea blame them for false advertisement. One good example of the false advertising is that they said me3 will not have an abc ending
I don't know, maybe it's the awesome choice of music, married masterfully with the words and pictures? This tribute is better than any of the trailers that were done. Also for all you can fault Bioware, you can't fault them for their taste of Poetry! ;) "the Charge of the Light Brigade" By tennyson is fitting to the overall theme, but "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley eclipses it, it says in a few stanzas what the spirit of the trilogy was about. Ash is indeed the Warrior Poet!
Yes it is possible. You have to save Kirahee in ME1. However he might die another way then. Its because the scene where Thane dies, Kirahee takes the shot that would kill the councilor. Thane isnt even there :)
Mass Effect 3 will be on my best and worst of for games of 2012, I don't believe I have played a game that has such a polarizing ending, I can't explain ii, but the ending and the entire series will be talked about for years and years and the series of ME will be considered a watershed moment in gaming history. The ending will be one of, if no the most, controversial and debated endings of all time
I just feel pity for anyone who hasn't played the Mass Effect series.
I think I've gifted two people with a Mass Effect game already, convinced at least two more to buy it and have recommended it to literally everyone else with a remote interest in sci-fi.
I felt it would add to their lives a special touch of amazement, just as it did to mine...

@@johannestafelmaier616 Same here. The Mass Effect trilogy and The Expanse are things I can't recommend enough.

Thus far I have 2 cinematic tributes:
/watch?v=BEsQ2HiTQ8w
/watch?v=twau4CFa36E
Hope you enjoy! :)
Note: I love Mass Effect too!! Amazing trilogy!
Same here, it'll stay in my heart until I die. Seriously.
this video is a beautiful tribute to one of the most moving games I've ever played.
amazing job ! That Quote " Boldly they rode and well" was used at the ceremony for my fallen brethren at the MCB Hawaii after thier CH-53's crashed into the ocean so seeing it used so well here brought rivers of tears to my face. Well done , well done indeed.
Mass Effect is pure greatness if it ever existed.
I get goosebumps every time starting at 1:43. To hear Shepard say, "You're not in this fight alone" and then see the entire Sword Fleet warp in... it's a thing of beauty.
"Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell"
Tennyson in my Mass Effect
This game series will go down in history as the greatest achievement of the gaming industry
Coming back to this after several years. I loved the edits and the music. Insane job.
Grunt made me cry outright. The combination of the music and his valiant struggle. It was heartbreaking to think he died.
What an amazing series. A beautiful, deep story, with heartfelt characters one and all. Thanks for this.
You've done it again. I applaud you for this masterpiece that brought tears to my eyes.
my number one motivational video. I watch this at least once a week!
The mass effect trilogy is the best game series I've played in my life. I even liked the ending.
God... This is how Bioware should have advertised the game.
My friend, you have done great justice to this series with this video alone.
You made me cry. This video is the most brilliant piece of art that I've ever seen in my life.
That scene with Garrus and Shepard at the Citadel is the best character interaction I've seen in any game for a while! Music goes so well with it!
Ahhh I love "Nero"! One of my favorite tracks from Two Steps from Hell. Great editing as always!
I missed that opening conversation with Hackett on my playthrough. That was awesome.
U put everything into this one, this was a master piece, great job.
They give your character so much...character. I love this game, they let you life out your person to the best of his/her abilities and idk this game is honestly a very satisfying work of art.
Very very nice
Thank You for the great tribute to an Amazing Game. Im not afraid to admit that when Grunt, Legion, Mordin, Thane and all the others sacrificed themselves for the greater good that it brought a few tears to my eyes (especially Legion)....
All the feels. You put together a masterpiece here.
Sorry for late reply. Differences between original and Extended Cut. Make a choice - synthesis, destroy, control. You die in all except 1 possible destroy scene with high galactic readiness. Even with that shitty ending, you make the entire game awesome again.
There WERE some great moments in this game!
This tribute made me cry
I got goosebumps all over, I laughed, got excited, I raged seeing a kid.. and sighed happily.. I love this video!
As an ENORMOUS ASHLEY FAN. This is my favorite video on youtube to date.
Thank you for this, it summarized all that I loved from this, reminding me that there was more to this game than that ending.
best part was garrus saying " i am garrus valkarian and this is my new favorite spot on the citadel"
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
great video
personally, i cant wait until your compilation of all 3 games video. i know its coming.
Wow... just wow. I can't say anymore than that. This is brilliant.
This is wonderful and a magnificent tribute to an amazing game. Thank you so much for this (and for introducing me to Two Steps From Hell!).
Ashley's voice and form always confuse me in ME3 because I've never been able to bring myself to save her and let Kaiden die.
Great vid! This game, despite it's problems had some very nice moments and quotes. I am looking forward to what you might do next :)
I feel like I shouldn't have watched this before playing through ME3, but I couldn't resist the siren song of a new Genol3oost video in my sub box. Fantastic work as always!
Why do I tear up when ever I see this
Amazing video, Plus Two steps from Hell music is perfect, in fact i have the album and have it as part of my Mass Effect playlist because i cannot hear the music now without thinking of your videos.
Thank you for highlighting with was great about the Mass effect series.
no joke this almost brought tears to my eyes
yet another well done tribute video you made well done indeed
Gah this guy... Keeps turning me onto new music. Can't afford buying new albums every video man!
Seeing the united fleet always gives me chills.
Hackett says has some deep lines but that only contributes a small part to the awesomeness of what the Trilogy delivers.
This is absolutely wonderful.
That was amazing! Very nice tribute

Yet another great Mass Effect video. You deserve so much more recognition!
they do impact the game, just in minor ways. the rachni queen/clone, the collector base and the outcome of the geth heretics change the value of some war assets. wow that was actually pretty epic, well done.
I could be mistaken but I think that the scene of ash and Shep together a second time and onward is supposed to be postwar events with the Reapers defeated and Shepard finally able to relax with his friends.
For about six months, I've been wondering what you'd do when ME3 hit. Holy hell, did you deliver.

This is the best vidéo on UA-cam !!!
Best Mass Effect video ever!!!!

just fantastic nicely put together well done
YOU MY BOY MARAUDER SHIELDS !!!
R.I.P. glorious hero of the people.
That scene where they dodge the laser makes me so happy.
a salute to the BEST sci fi epic of this era a salute to the men and women that made this series a series for the ages AND DOWN WITH EA um i mean the reapers i love this series and i always will even if ea fucks with it to no tomarrow
The track really suits this kind of video. I pat you on the back for a job well done.
The best thrilogy ever
Another amazing video - keep it up!
This song is from Mission Impossible 2. Injection. Great scene in the movie.
"Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell"

If you read the description you see that it say: "Synced to "Nero" by Two Steps From Hell. "
Bioware has already announced the plot of ME4.
At the end of ME3 the catalyst says "The created always revolt against the creators" or something along those lines right?
Well earlier in the game Shepard calls Garrus "king of the bottle shooters" and says he will call him whenever the bottles revolt.

If you don't talk to him, he just dies off-screen (Presumably from his illness) anyway. You'll find his name on the memorial wall later on in the game.
@Mclovin1234543 Pretty sure Bioware didn't plan that at all, but considering the uproar I would hope there will be!
boldly they rode and well. into the jaws of death. into the mouth of hell.
It might be a good idea if you make a tribute video which emphasize the importance of Alien species in Mass Effect universe, all of them.
I miss your videos.
This is my favorite video of yours
it is the journey not the conclusion is what mass effect is all about
@goldenthao oh no he doesn't actually die but the game sets you up to make you think hes going to die... you know when he tackles the Ravager off the cliff
This was amazing, can you do a video tribute about the Shepard and Liara romance please? :D
there is no final boss, but the last enemy you kill is a Marauder, and you know how bosses always have their name over their hp bars
well his reads
Marauder
Shields
so hence Marauder Shields, tried to save you from the ending,
he died to protect us :P
apparently casey hudson and priesley were the only people who wrote the ending if you dont want to blame bioware or ea blame them for false advertisement. One good example of the false advertising is that they said me3 will not have an abc ending
RIP Marauder Shields and Three Husketeers
Very true. Fair point.
I agree with you completely
Boldly we strode into the jaws of Death, and as I looked to my sides, I realized, Death rides with me.
awesome video! thank you for sharing it!
can I make request? can you make another epic video? and can you make video about aria t'loak and make it moving?
thank you!
I wish you read this...
I don't know, maybe it's the awesome choice of music, married masterfully with the words and pictures?

Good choice of music Thomas Bergerson is a damn good composer

@amanda24 If I had to guess what was next, it would perhaps be something about Tali.
Amazing game. Amazing amv.
Ending of the game = Greatest betrayal to the fandom.
