  • The WallyPower 118, is this the fastest Superyacht?
    This iconic stealth carbon fibre superyacht produces 16,800 mHP through three gas turbines with waterjets to hit an incredible 65 knots top speed!
    Designed by the founder of Wally Yachts, Luca Bassani
    Correction: Thanks for the range comments :) you're keeping us honest! The 380nm range on the stats card came from the Wally Heritage website, but the website doesn't say the speed that corresponds to that range. There's a Boat International article that says the yacht can do 1,500nm at 9knts, which seems much more likely! Apologies for the error, sadly there's no way for us to make the correction and reupload the video :/

    It is 20 years old, yet it looks more modern and better than 99% of new boats now! Best boat design ever.

      You are spot on! I think the shipyard have realised that too, as there has been some news recently that they are going to build a new 165 inspired by the shape of the 118 original: www.wally.com/news/165-wallypower-when-the-stars-align.html

    • @cryptohouse1676
      @cryptohouse1676 3 роки тому +7

      @@TheTenderGarage I don't think it was just the shape of the original that made it look good. It was the proportions combined with the minimalism and the reduction of clutter like grab-rails, radar masts, seats, winches, sun shades etc.

      It looks so futuristic it actually made it into the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. They modified it slightly, maybe to avoid copyright issues with the shipyard, but the influence is blindingly obvious : ua-cam.com/video/Ysdz71M2ix0/v-deo.html. If I recall correctly that's supposed to be the yacht of a corrupt Night City official in the year 2077, when they have flying cars and people living inside computers.

      Same. I saw for first time in that movie and i fall in love with it. Now i making a scale model of wally power at 1:36 scale. In fact, this boat have some relevant factor durante all the movie. At first, represent the connection betwin the clone and his real life counterpart. Also represent the intelligence and singularity of both. But at the end, in the very final scene, the boat represents the fredom and a happy end, the dream comes to reality.

      There are two versions of the yacht, one with three gas turbines that does sixty knots, and one with two 370 HP Cummins diesel engines, the one with diesel engines can only do nine knots and go longer distance.

    Honestly, she looked allot smaller in person. Very low profile. She was parked here in San Diego, California for a short period of time a few years ago. Still to this day, one of my favorites. Just a tad utilitarian with the interior design and layout. Great for 1-3 day key employee team building of 5-10. Exterior is super cool.

    The Island, love that movie because it shows how evil people are, one day it will be reality, a lot of people think movies are so unrealistic I used to think the same thing, but as I've gotten older I am willing to bet humans are more than enough evil nowadays to make that movie a reality. Thank God I'll be dead and gone when it happens. Also say the movie was reality there would be no separation if you were born you could become one of those clones and have a very short life, nature is not going to keep it separate, in the same way it was just luck that you weren't born in a really poor country starving to death. Human beings are the most disgusting thing that has ever existed on this planet trust me. I like to help poor people and the homeless, on the other hand I do not associate with wealthy people or help them, I will not even save them from a burning car or house. I think everyone else should follow suit and be realistic. Do you think I rich person driving in their Lamborghini with all their high-end clothes is going to get out of their clean car and clothes to save you from a burning car, I don't think so, so what the hell are you doing saving them. The line has been drawn, pick your side, stop drinking the Kool-Aid.
