@Arthur Kitchen Nope... Eric Bretch (Kurt's Brother) is the Drummer of the video... Felix had other way to play... check this video... ua-cam.com/video/_7VC2b1EYGo/v-deo.html and this photo.... drummerszone.media/artists/2000/4591-0132004020624.jpg
1st song: I dont need society 2nd song: Reaganomics? 3rd song: Commuter man 4th song: Plastique 5th song: Why? 6th song: Balance of terror 7th song: Fate to my hate
I grew up in the late 80's, I listened to DRI everyday back in highschool. In the mid 90's my punk band, Jedi Mind Trick, opened up for DRI on the Full Speed Ahead Tour, Corpus Chisti TX. One of the best days of the good ole days.
Bro, it WAS ages ago. They used to jam in Houston wherever they could. We had one of the hardest scenes in the country back then. When Black Flag did the My War tour even Rollins commented on it. Good times. Kids today don't know what they missed.
Must have been fucking awesome! I saw them with blast a couple of weeks ago! There was so many older dudes telling me that I was going to get fucked up when blast started playing haha
gREAT STUFF, THIS reALLy TAKES me back!! Thanx for posting it up! At one time i knew all the lyrics of their first album of by heart, found myself singing along with this one : )
The first time I saw these guys was in 1986. There playing Hollywood in December. Right down the street from my house at the key club. If I'm not in jail I will be there.
I don‘t how old you are and how used to have the internet all the time, but it could be interesting for you to be back in 1984 without any internet. You would need to find a MRR or Flipside and a telephone book to get in touch.😊
LOL man this brings back some memories, I stole my moms car to take my g/f to see them in SOBE for this tour. I was so amped up I only left the pit for a few seconds when I got my nose broken.
I agree totally, this is just after the dirty rotten lp appeared. Only these and the Neos at the time played real hardcore thrash. It was very hard to get in England in 1983, but I managed it, ;-)
I'm amazed at the quality of video and sound here. Not much classic punk left of this quality. I think it really illustrates what a lot of people don't know about punk rock: it wasn't about mohawks, heroine addicts or skinheads. It was raw energy and emotion. The guys looked more like your math teacher than social misfits and the folks in the audience went on to become dentists and lawyers. Because it's what you least expected...
i seen them in sactown cali with slayer in about 85 or 86. they ripped shit up. true thrash. rock on.the pit was so crazy couldnt move without hurtin for a week.fuck yea !
fuck this makes me feel young im 33 today and fuck this takes me back to grade 6 when i was handed my first dri tape forget witch one but ya im still hooked
Fuckin right!! Most of my friends were into metal when punks and metalheads didn't get along. I was one of the ones that liked both musics because they fuled each other into a ferocious intensity!!
They changed hardcore forever. Rocket speed songs....awesome. I saw them a few times before they did the "metal" thing in the 80's, definitely one of the better bands of that era.
I wish the punk "scene" was still like this...
They need to bring this type of music back
Hell yes!
the early 80's were something,
The 80’s 🤘🏿
the only band that could play a whole concert in less than 5 minutes
djpaulywood the concert is actually 30 minutes
Hahahahaha I know right pure speed on this band
Trumpanomics killing us!
drummer is sick!

DRI and Badbrains are reigning Kings of Hardcore. Don't care what anyone says.
In 84 there was nothing like that out there. Game changers.
