Woohoo! Saw these guys at the Channel in Boston on their 4 of a Kind tour...Kreator opened for them! They shut the power down on DRI and the place went ballistic #15
Great Review!! These guys really moved it up a notch when "Metal" was supposedly dead. This is some of their heaviest shit. Fucking killer stuff \m/\m/ If you like this, you should check out Pasadena Napalm Division (P.N.D.) if you haven't already - 'Bleached Blonde Despair' and 'Failure' are my favs. Also 'Grinning Like An Undertaker' (The Accused) is another killer Crossover album that was really heavy as well.
This one has a sacred reich vibe to it, to me… I was in a band in college, the canvas butt holsters (1992-93) we played only two shows: an apartment party for our art school friends and once at the lost horizon in Syracuse, a famous venue for the alternative, hardcore and metal scene… we played originals and a bunch of weird covers: big black, scratch acid, dead horse, bob mould, ministry etc… we also did “I’d rather be sleeping” by DRI… that’s it, that’s the whole story… thank you… if you’re interested in hearing a practice recording of the canvas butt holsters from exactly 30 years ago, please send me a blank cassette in a self-addressed, stamped envelope 👍🏽
I met there guys in 95. We were eating at the mercury cafe before the show and bypassed the ticket line. I love the music, but I didn't really recognize the guys, and they came in, equipment and roadies and everything. I asked Spike who was in the band, he pointed at a roadie, and i asked everyone about 40 questions. I guess they liked me, Because they finally admitted Kurt was manning the merch booth. I introduced myself and told him how much the music meant, and he gave me a look, and said thanks, and excused himself to finish his nachos before the show. He probably would have been cooler if I had actually bought something, and I wish I had bought some of his books. Great show, Great band and definitely dirty rotten imbeciles. I'll always love them
they are still killing it live. I didn't see them until the 90s, but they were great. Their DEALING WITH IT is in my top 10 HC albums since I first heard it in 1990 or maybe it was '91.
I remember the song...a former co-worker of mine was heavy into D.R.I. and he would sing this at random when he was caught up in moments of apathy, which was seemingly often. No disrespect to him but this sounded a hell of a lot better than he would wail on it. 😸 I haven't heard this since the 90's (maybe early 2000's at best) and it's still a decent jam. 💥
got burned out on these guys awhile back. But this sounded pretty killer. I like when they get heavy and lose the happier vibe some of their songs have. They just played my town this week.

Kurt has a side band called Iron Reagan and they are really similar.

Thrash zone is my favorite
@@GodWeenSatan that was the first one I heard just a few months before finding Dealing With it.

Yeah! Thanks Shane! Love this band but they said no more albums when this sold basically nothing.
