On a ranch in South Texas, biologists are tapping the latest technology, and fitting turkey with tiny backpacks, to learn where the turkey lurk. With this data, scientists are gaining a better understanding of the habitat needs and preferences of Rio Grande turkey populations. See how these findings may benefit turkey and all who enjoy them.

I just wonder, if the farmers where able to raise chicken and quial. Why dont they do it with wild turkey to raise wild turkey. Having the eggs to hatch and release them to the wilds. Im just curious.
Its hard to re-integrate them into the wild; the turkey we raise for example don't have the instinct to roost anymore, and that's their main protection from predators when they are sleeping.
