- Drunk History will teach you all about how Teddy Roosevelt saved football, fought for the environment and left his mark on Christmas. (Contains strong language.)
About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

"In his spare time, he was President." That's a pretty accurate summary of Teddy Roosevelt. . .
I cannot think of a more accurate way to sum up Theodore…
In the best possible way.
Devoted more time to being President than 45 ever did.
@@elizamccroskey1708🤡
@elizamccroskey1708 you're a brainwashed corporate shill
Theodore Roosevelt is the reason why Ron Swanson was willing to work in the government
Haha perfect
Is a study of history loving that comment thank you I don't know much. Especially why my comment was highlighted over this one but thanks everybody I love you all
Well said
@@irvingramirez2335 thank you mr. Ramirez. Once everybody realizes this the world will be a better place! Until then keep fighting the good fight my friend.
im gonna "ackshully" you peepers here, and point out that Teddy Roosevelt is kinda the opposite of Ron Swanson lol Teddy Roosevelt was for government oversight more so than almost any president before him
The personal chef tackling the deer was pretty epic
“I represent the people not the party.” Our media can’t even say that now. We could use someone like him now
"Well this guy just told me to "suck it bro" so, I think the meeting is adjourned."
I've always loved this presidential address Teddy Rooseve gave.
The only thing that was a bit off was that Roosevelt didn't drink. He did, however, downed about a gallon of coffee a day so we was WIRED!
"We're young and dumb and nobody reads a god damn book anymore." Accurate af.
That's obvious if your all watching this.
also they praise fdr as an amazing president who in fact was one of the worst presidents we ever had.
being young has nothing to do with it. What it is that people are more obsessed with conspiracy theories
13:52 I love how he tried to do a Kermit The Frog impression in the middle of speaking 😂
We don't need a Trump we need Another Teddy Roosevelt. What a fucking legend there are so many more stories of crazy shit he did it's ridiculous
The world can't take another Roosevelt
Trump did a lot more for this country than the past 3 presidents... You are just too brainwashed by the liberal media to understand it... Im not judging, just stating the facts. The "mean tweets" are better that 7 dollar gas, 8% inflation, unchecked immigration and a dementia Joe... Just saying...
@@defaultlogos2976 honestly you could say it for both but atleast Modern Roosevelt would be making changes for the better/trying to do so
@@binglemccringle705
True, but there is no way he could be national Republican with the current G.O.P.
They would stop him at every opportunity.
Teddy would either be a Justice Dem. or a Populist Independent/Third-Party.
@@defaultlogos2976
This. Roosevelt would be crucified by Trump and his QAnon cronies
Roosevelt would defeat bezos in single combat and then take down the tech monopoly.
13:47 the voices he made for the kids killed me 🤣🤣🤣 he gave the deepest voice to the littlest one too 🤣🤣🤣
Imagine if Teddy were in charge today with social media and 24 hour "news."
It would just be him climbing Mount Everest while strangling a bear
I've always loved learning about Theodore Roosevelt when I was in US history
“... and put pentagrams on and dance around and do weird shit” 😂
I came away from this learning one important thing...
Katie Nolan is really cute.
U boomer bruh
She looks like my math teacher 🥲
Nobody:
Teddy: I’m just here wit you and my chef
John Muir: OG granola #1.
They need to make a T.R movie with Nick Offerman.
Theodore Rex
You own me seven pesonal chefs
One of my favorite books of all time
She was funny. And the dude talking about the park, that "thank you man" was so sincere, he was really sweet 😂😂
every now and then theres these genuine, down to earth moments in this and i sorta wish there was a "heart touching" compilation
Actually there were more than just three people. There were 5, Teddy Roosevelt, John Muir, (and two of what would be the equivalent of park rangers before the area was actually declared a park) Charles Leidig (having been the first Caucasian or person who wasn't of Native American decent basically, from what I gather, born in Yosemite Valley) Archie Leonard, and an Army Packer named Jackie Alder. Charles Leidig was the good camp cook apparently.
But their first entourage included way more people and that was correct including a whole Army detachment, or whatever, and then when they got to this one little city, at the halfway point I guess, where people had traveled to see him and set off fireworks and all that stuff he basically declined, had a glass of champagne with the people he had too. Then got awarded the 'key' to Yosemite Valley and then ended his tour with a camp at Bridalveil not staying for the fireworks. But before he left crossing back over this bridge that had a big welcome sign on it, which was his first hint that he was gonna be running into a big crowd of people waiting on him when he had crossed it the day before. Anyway on his way out he was seen hugging a little girl he called an Angel, Ellen Boysen, daughter of a photographer, who was holding a miniature flag, and he also ripped some male kid, they think his name was Chris Degnan, (and said that the cause for his I don't know lack of cordiality was due to his big brother or whomever the head of the household was being away at school), anyway he got ripped a new one for calling to him too familiarly with, 'Hi, Teddy!" Instead if Mr. President or President Roosevelt or whatever.
But this was all from an account I found from the publication, "Yosemite Association" 1994.
You seem fun
No better sentence to describe him than saying Teddy liked anything “violently manly” lol
All jokes aside thats my favorite president, God Bless America.
Franklin was better
Agreed teddy was the greatest American
@@Sam-cn4gv I wouldn't say greatest, he done some crazy shit. In general he a good President compared to other Presidents.
Aside from being notably racist and having hate in his heart for Native Americans he was a President that much is true.
As is mine. Been since i was 12. Ineven got to go to Sagamore Hill. It was beyond awesome.
Thank goodness for Teddy Roosevelt and the Roosevelt elk there here in Oregon LOL but when you chop one giant tree down and leave a bunch of little trees guess what that's more s*** on the ground simple math lol I love you guys thank you
Thank you, Teddy Roosevelt. Without you, those parks would be bare. 👍
And Riggle is a Marine, this is truly my favorite episode. THANK YOU FOR KICKIN ASS
Katie Nolan was awesome! She should do more of these.
Crackle crackle 🔥
Theodore is the man! Best president ever
Nah she good, we got CGI
This video goes great with my yeti full of rum and OJ. Happy holidays y'all!! ☺️
If for no other reason, TR will always be one of our greatest presidents for his protection of our counties beautiful national parks and forests. Let's continue his legacy and continue to keep them safe!
The biggest thing I learned from this video is that Katie Nolan is a total charisma vacuum
Why would they ever cancel this show?! I miss it so much.
Teddy DEFFINITELY did mushrooms on that hike in Yosemite ! lol
Maybe spoiled whisky
New subscriber - 😂🤣 … I love it! Great format and intoxicating content ;) … 🤣
Teddy was one of the manliest men ever despite how much he tried to be manly
Okay but this is how I talk when I don't take my ADHD meds

"I can do one of the two things. I can be the president of United States or attend to Alice. I cannot possibly do both."
I love how each episode the narrator asks Derek, what was i talking about? And he just replies "subject".
This is awesome
Is it wrong to find this better than history channel
There’s a school in L.A. named after John Muir. I didn’t go there, but it’s really cool to learn about him. I never had one moment of curiosity about why he had a school named for him. I now wish I would’ve. He was a cool dude 😎.
I went to that school. Burbank ca. It has really nice views of the hills and mountains in the area.
Very nice
Smart beautiful funny and on point girl😍
Lmaooooo. “We got CGI.”
Love her.
When he said “Moab” they showed a picture of Arches National Park. 😂 Native Utahn, so I caught that right away.
Rascal is such a Teddy Roosevelt word.
I used to checkout/ never return or steal every TR book I came across. Dude was the goat. Need a TR right now bad
Ms. Nolan is ENTIRELY my type 😂. Funny, beautiful, brunette with cool glasses. I'm tripping over my own feet just watching this video
4:29 Let's hope football in 2020 is different.
Nice
It’s actually Theodore Roosevelt the third. President Theodore Roosevelt Is actually jr. and his dad is Theodore Roosevelt senior
@ 3:17
"what was I talking about?"...anyone can relate to this?
What about you me and my personal chef 😆
I'm drunk right now
@14:06 The face of a European drunkard named Paddy.
Teddy Roosevelt is one of the few politicians I respect
i love you Teddy Roosevelt
:What was that
:It was a mouthh ffart.
😂
Ethel is a badass. @13:56
Last night before I went to bed a ate a whole 30 pack of pizza rolls.
The first storyteller was beautifull
❤️
Sooooo. He goes off for days into the woods with another guy without telling anyone and brings 40 blankets? Are we sure nothing else happened out there? I’m just saying maybe they were doing more with wood than just burning.
Ah yes the russo-japanese war nobody paid any attention to that whatsoever because they are all drunk and that is history LOL thanks guys I love to write for you
1:50 weeee!
17:34 😂😂😂
10:56😂
I haven’t even watched this yet and I can already guarantee that they’re not going to talk about one of his most important achievements (creating labor rights) in Scranton. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is objectively the fourth most historically relevant city in the entire United States, and everything that happened there is either completely overlooked, or stated vaguely as happening “somewhere in Pennsylvania”.
You mean Teddy Rosevelt was the guy who had the idea of playing football with the hands?
In an extremely strange way I feel like I'm in love what a wonderful yes thank you darling keep those glasses
Not that it probably matters this long after the video came out, but Teddy's personal chef was actually a woman. Alice Howard.
Imagine how sketchy the electricity was, like in 1929 AT christmas. Bet it was the electricity. lol
The Time Teddy Roosevelt Traumatized Dr. Seuss
I’m Kermit lol
8:00 is that Tom Hanks?
Yes
My favorite president
I love Katie Nolan sooo much
Beaver lol
Teddy Roosevelt was a tea totaler. He didn’t drink.
Ultimate Chad.
Is this episode about soccer?
4:57
tR. Thanks bro.
Is watching this drunk Drunk History x2?
I'm 90 percent sure he's the manliest son of a mother ever in office. It's close for me between him Lincoln and Washington. if tell me you wouldn't watch that fight, you're spiritually unamerican.
Was gonna add Jackson, but that's more borderline psychotic than manly. Dude went second in a duel ON PURPOSE
Who plays Teddy in the last clip?
simon something
Amazing we had a president who has a long list of achievements and being president is effectively a sidenote
Merry christmas american fellas
Merry Christmas 🎅 gift I subed you
@@daniel_7234 thank you fella me 2
Teddy Roosevelt was the most American American to ever exist
I don't know if me and Katie would agree on everything in the world of politics, but I found it very attractive when she said, "F*ck them if that's what they think." Mmm. America.
Wasn't Teddy a red head?
In 1899, Teddy Roosevelt wanted to be the VP candidate, but McKinley's first term VP, Garret Hobart, refused to step aside, but then Hobart died in Nov. 1899, age 55. TR and McKinley were elected to office November, 1900. McKinley was assassinated September 1901 and TR became president. McKinley’s campaign manager, Sen. Mark Hanna, wanted to challenge TR in the 1904 GOP presidential primary. Hanna died in February 1904. TR was reelected in November 1904.
Ball is life. Fuck my feelings.
Pay Dave Chapelle.
You know, if Theodore Roosevelt was alive today, I'm pretty sure he would be a Democrat similar to Bernie Sanders and not a Republican given how Progressive he was on certain policies.
Too bad Abraham is racist now, Roosevelt too
Well he did start the Rough Riders...
Maybe but because of his stands on taxes he would most likely be a Republican
He’d dwf be for preservation of national lands, not leasing it to drill oil. & he’d def be down for Paris Climate Accord.
I think he would be in the green party. But if we are going on Dem/Rep, then I think he would be a center right Republican.
