- I caught a rare sighting of some Skyfish, sometimes called Flying Rods or just Rods on my Crittercam!! There is alotta controversy of what they really are, but we'll leave that decision up the viewers!!

They have been around in photos since 1910. First came to big news around late 90's early 2000's. Many photos and reports. No insect on Earth has two pairs of wings
@@shanephillips144 thats false. Butterflies 🦋 have 2 pairs of wings. Beetles have 2 pairs of wings. Etc etc. Its not 2 wings though, its 1 wing and the body is elongated because of how fast its going. Its a bug, but a camera cant capture how fast its going so it looks like 1 long bug because the bug was in 2 places in the same frame.

When I was 7 years old I saw a documentary about these and believed they were real for 9 years. One day I saw one on a live camera feed. I waited at the window below where the camera was, watching the monitor for it to return. When it finally did, I looked up and could see that it was just a moth.

I guess we are all here because we saw this on Jojo’s bizarre adventure.
These are insects - likely moths - which move faster than the frame rate of the camera. Their wings also beat a lot faster than the frame rate of the camera. The result is this rod like appearance. You can go outside with a handheld spotlight and attract moths at night, record them, and get the same exact results.
nope, they are ghosts , when they travel they appear as these things known as rods I have them in my videos where I live and I learnt that 2 guys were killed here on this property and surrounding areas , they were murdered, rods are fast moving spirit orbs, I've filmed some and captured the image , I'll show you 2 images of these things that had slowed down enough to be visible on film, brace yourself these are real images ,

Grab a spot light and go outside in the warmer weather and attract moths and record them… I guarantee you will get rods. I have done this and gotten them every single time. Not one legitimate and credible paranormal investigator claims orbs or rods are spirits or ghosts.
@@ghostdetective5949 lol dude you can't convince me man, I blew one of the orbs in my videos up there's a face in it, clearly a face very detailed face, and the really creepy thing about it is, it looks like me, I tried to show you the pic but you need to go via email , see they protect themselves, in between the moths and dust particles there's spirit orbs and rods, rods are the spirit orbs when they move, they are bullet speed, no dust particle or flies or moth moves at bullet speed and they are not in big clusters like dust particles, and dust particles moths and flies don't fly thru brick walls etc

yeah its most likely a moth but due to motion blur ( a video artifact ) it looks elongated and some people think they are alien life forms or UFOs because they just don't know about motion blur common on cheaper cameras like outdoor cameras.

Various tests are already done and proven it was moths. They tried to captured these rods using a large net, they saw rods being captured and upon inspection those are just moths.

Finally figured out what these are called. I saw one in the air in 2008, never knew what it was. And just randomly remembered it. Me and another guy both saw it hovering, about 30-40cm in length if I remember right. Then it took off. The other guy said, “look it’s one of those things” while looking up and pointing. I saw it and have never got that image out of my head and seeing it in this video, that looks just like it

I have a trail cam in my back yard. It's so much fun seeing what is around the yard. Mine has a motion sensor. It can takes stills or video. I use the still mode mostly. Raccoons were trashing my yard. The camera showed there were six of them. Got them all in one week including a opossum. Not much action since. That was one very interesting looking insect.
Yeah it's amazing all the activity around your house at night that you don't know about!! I've had Coons, Skunks, Cats, Dogs, Possums, Fox, Deer, Turkeys and Skyfish!!☺

We used to catch them on a yellow tailed wiggly jig on warm humid nights in July, after some dandelion wine and stale cigars.....or maybe it was just the dandilion wine.....its fuzzy...never mind.

Yeah, I understand about the slow shutter speed. But, I have seen them with the naked eye. I live in central pa and on a hot summer night if you set outside with no lights on you will see them.

if you look you can see the same smearing effect at 0.55 but it does look really cool. The bugs must sync up in some way to be so clear in 3 sections. i would not discount the idea that some species of insect has this behaviour though

If you all think it’s a moth. Just take a good look at one as it flies. Takes them about two minutes to fly into a lightbulb. They fly into and around the light, not fly away so fast from the light that they cause distortion from the camera.
I learned more from Jojo than any school formal education 😢
Monster Quest did a segment on these things and determined they are just moths flying really fast and that cameras are just capturing motion blur, which causes the moths to appear to be stretched out and have more than a pair of wings.
Omg 😱 please tell me. I'm not one on this one !! Just found out these were called "rods " yesterday after having multiple amounts of real raw footage allll over my outside. Idk what they are but some dark from the sky beam into the ground and explode and go nuts in odd directions, and some are very fast like this one and others can move and hover at different pace and oddly 90° angles . I have to upload it. I swear . They shoot through my walls onto outside around back out on camera . It had to be some type of plasma energy. Or ET
It's not what you think it is. Really, it's just insects flying at high speeds -- that's why it created that rod shaped appearance.

@@SundayNightGames it's the framerate of the video combined with the speed they flap their wings. Their are vids on yt with higher framerates where you can see them with less distortion.
I just got a pic of one lastnight on my trail camera so it has nothing to do with frame rate that was the same shape in the still photo explain that
@@kcoutdoorsmissouri4052 easily explained. Its the shutter speed of your trail cam. The bug is moving quickly and a slower shutter speed will blur the motion of the object you are photographing. If you took the same picture with a good quality camera it wouldn’t look anything like what your trail camera took.

This is cool but not uncommon. This will happens whenever slow shutter speeds are used in a area with lots of bugs. You won't find this happening in cold weather.

It's a moth. Artifacting and smearing due to aperture and shutter speed. University team tested it years ago with a regular camera and a high speed pointing the same direction. Any time a rod showed up the high speed clearly showed a moth or other flying insect.

These are regular flying bugs distorted by a slow frame camera, under high speed camera (2000 frames per second) you will see only bugs history channel did an experiment that conclusively showed this

i have paused some of the hundreds of videos i have to where the image is clear...NO BLUR....they have eyes and a mouth. the "wings" are flaps that run along both sides of the body, no legs at all. there is a saltwater fish that has fins like their wings
i love when people say they are insects but they can never explain what the insect is or why one has never been caught. Some people are so scared of the fact that they do not know what they are so they have to lie to themselves for comfort and pretend they have everything figured out.

i learned about rods way back in the 1980’s they exist i sometimes see them in sports games when you slow down a video rods exist.

When the light is just right I once saw them with my eyes. There were so many flying I couldn't count them all as they were fast but all were this shape and basically invisible. I was laying on the ground and my eyes had been covered because of the sun and I didn't know what I had seen. This was 35 years ago when I first saw them and we are told their some sorta bug?
