I was so excited when I heard you describe my EXACT problem - irons up to 7 / 6 are good, 5, 4, 3 hybrid, 3 wood, driver (especially) terrible. But I didn't quite understand this explanation of how to correct it! I'd have loved a longer video, even if only by a couple of more minutes, with maybe a drill or two to help foster the right feelings of good vs. bad "hip depth". Love your work, love your other videos, this one was just a bit frustrating as it doesn't quite help me solve my exact problem.

Lord I struggle with driver in this respect, absolutely doing my head in particularly since I purchased a Calloway Paradym Driver and managed to worsen my slicing of the tee tendency (although interestingly this has been diminished somewhat by moving the 5g rear head weight from Neutral to Draw.. but I digress). Your mentioned sequencing in this video, would be very useful if you did a vid on sequencing. Realise how complex sequencing is but gee, anything you could do would be insightful as usual. Great vid this one 👏

Early extension messes up our swing plane. Yes. But eliminating it has been a journey of difficulty for me. I’m a month into daily drills and when I swing fast the hips thrust. This has just been the toughest problem to fix in my swing.

It sounds like you're out of sequence and probably spinning your shoulders out. You need to learn how to delay that rotation by using flexion.
Take the club back, allow the back hip to get deep and work towards the target, and shift a pinch to your forward leg and then take your back seam of your pants or shorts and point it to 10:00, (down the target line is 12:00) that will flex your hips allowing you to delay your rostation and drop the arms down , then you turn thru the ball using yiue front hip as Russell shows.
You will not early extend and it will help you not spinning the shoulders out.
Anither way to think about it, doing this will let you "keep your bsck to the target" longer.

I have the opposite, I am very comfortable with driver down to 6i where plane is a bit flatter and swing around the body, but really begin to struggle with 7 through wedges as plane gets more vertical.
