You blew my mind with this episode! Lace window screens! Made your own hamper! Sailboats from napkins! LOVE that lace with the wool blanket! It’s going to be gorgeous!
You inspired me to repair our boat tarp. A new tarp costs minimum $3,000 and I would have to hire someone to pull my boat our of the water and take it to the vendor. With a needle and thread and picked-apart canvas bags I found in the basement, I bound the edges (15 feet x 2), repaired a destroyed casing for the shock cord, reinforced large burn holes (from sparklers), whip stitched the seams inside, threaded a new shock cord ($14) through, rebuilt the corners and all of that took about one month, 5 hours a day. Last week, my son replaced broken staves and broken hooks and now the boat finally has a tarp. It was about 30 years old. Thanks for your dear posts and emails.
Sarah, you are truly a blessing! In this crazy world we live in I find comfort spending time creating and being with creative people like you to keep me “in the light”. I appreciate you sharing your talents, life, styling secrets lol and hope you never tire of doing these videos! Thanks for being so uplifting! God Bless💕🙏✝️
I have found so many nice linens while out browsing my favorite thrift stores. Lately I found two embroidered white linen pillow shams - king size - fifty cents each! Your advice always helps me use them in creative ways. I love, love your ideas.Thank you for sharing your talent.
Just beautiful! I love the wool blanket and the trim you added to the edge. I think we have some old fencing in the back of the shop. What a great idea! I really enjoy watching your videos so much.
So many have said how fabulously talented you are Sarah and you are! I loved this video! Look at the wonderful pieces you have found and how you have so creatively used them. LOVE LOVE your ideas, so inspiring to me :) Those screens are the BEST!
Love what you’ve done with all the pieces but especially the inherited ones, giving meaningful but awkward pieces new life, be it the wren skirt or the driftwood sailboats. I’m sure your grandmother would be thrilled!
I learned to iron on pillowcases too! This was so inspiring and also relaxing after a tough week.. thanks for always being uplifting💕 I love using linens as decor and got some wonderful new ideas from you today..brilliant! Thanks for sharing!
I always love what you do with the treasures you find. I wish we had thrift stores in Argentina, I miss being able to shop for the delights that are out there! But you manage to inspire us to look at things in a new way and repurpose what we may already have. Thankful for you and your videos!
Love linens n lace!! My booth is called the linen closet... N it's filled with linens, lace, doilies,;dresser scarves, table toppers !! You get the idea..lol you gave me so many ideas.. loved them all but the window screens are magical!!! Thanks, so glad I found you,!!!
Love these ideas and it just adds the perfect touch to everyday items. Very feminine which I love. I just purchased your Pinterest online class. See you Monday.
I've found a couple of those small cloth bags with drawstrings while they doing. I've used them for packing shoes in a suitcase. So handy! Of course, I like what you've done with yours. Thanks. I always enjoy your vlogs.
This is so much fun!!!! I have had so many beautiful old things throughout the years but always gave them away...because I didn't have a vision for them. Makes me sad sometimes! I love watching you! You are just beautiful! Thanks for helping folks like me see the beauty! God bless! Until next time.
I love to collect vintage textiles but I never have any creative ideas in using them except for the purpose they were intended. Love, love the laundry basket idea with the K pillowcases. Gorgeous ideas.
Hi Sarah🙂, I so look forward to your videos and this one certainly didn't disappoint!! The sailboats from your Grandmother's handkerchiefs, make your own window screens and hampers - ingenious! I will now be checking out the linen department. Thank you for sharing🙂❤️
Fantastic ideas, dear! King pillowcases in the fencing hampers... so clever 👏 and I too regularly find amazing linens in my thrift stores including antique quilts, if you can believe that!! (BTW the CC is translating muslin bag into Muslim bag)
Another beautiful video filled with inspiration. Your talent is amazing. My favorite is the linen skirt with the lace bird. Thank you for linking your blog post about Wren. It's beautifully written and reminded me of my own two miscarriages. Had I known you then, I would have sent you peonies too. God bless you, Sarah.💙
I am a lover of white sheets as well! Especially if they are edged in crocheting or lace edging. Embroidered ones are lovely too. I can't believe you have a free box. Wow. Love your ideas! Lovely. Oh and the name wren...sigh.. blessings to you.
I have so many doilies and linens that were my Mom's and they are not being used. Thank you so much for the wonderful ideas. The hamper with the king pillow case is also a great idea! I'm so glad I found your channel and Thank You for sharing your talent and ideas. You are precious!
I absolutely LOVE this episode!!!! Everything you've done with these linens, so creative and brilliantly done!!! Sharing this to my messages so I can actually go back and take many many notes! Thank you for all of you inspiration!!!!
The antlers suit you LOL. I love the lace screen and will def try it! I also love the hampers -- altho we've no room in the laundry area for them. Maybe on top of the machines, without the wheels. Thanks for all!
When my sons were in the speckled face stage of teenage angst... I crocheted some little face cloths for them to use and bought some masculine kind of soap for their acne. They whipped that face breakout stuff using those cloths. PS, I used a plain stitch not a scallop so they wouldn't think it was for girls. Boys are so wierd about that kind of thing, but they really don't know how to take care of themselves. That's what moms are for and later, their wives. 😍😃
Great video - full of creative and useful ideas. Now I am wishing I would have picked up vintage lace trimmed sheets at a garage sale this weekend. I am looking forward to the class!
I lost a little one 6 years ago. It is still painful for me. ❤ that little one has two little brothers and an older sister. We shall be reunited in heaven ❤
Loved this video, Sarah! I especially loved the ideas for the bed skirts. I pick those up whenever I find them and I like to use them to throw over chairs that my cats love to sleep on. Keeps them from getting dirty and no kitty fur! I would love to make one into a blanket so will check out that video. Do you happen to have a great and somewhat inexpensive online source for purchasing linen? Loved the window screen - an amazing dual-purpose decor item for the window or the wall!!! Happy Sunday to you and your family!
@@SheHoldsDearly thank you dear! My neighbor just gave me his leftover chicken wire and I had remembered seeing yours and am really hoping to have enough to make one. So cute and functional.
I imagine it's for the particular effect. I often will hand sew when I don't want the obvious stripe of stitching showing on the back. When you hand sew on a thicker fabric like her wool blanket, the stitches are nearly invisible and it's a more finished look I guess you would say. I know this was directed to Sarah, but I thought I'd chime in :o)
I really want the trim to sit right on the edge of the blanket and be a little floppy. Hand-stitching with wide stitches is the only way to achieve this. I WISH I could use a machine!
I love the crochet edge on the wool blanket! Where did you find the green printed pillows on your chairs? They are exactly what I have been searching for……..
Maybe you could have the girls iron those lined lace table clothes. They would look so much prettier. My grandma even starched her's . They really are beautiful. Joyce
I already threw away some hot pads, hand made and given to me as a Christmas gift. But I could have used them as wash clothes, which would have been great. . 😒

Well done, Katherine!! That is a lot of work, but I bet it feels great now to be finished! I'm impressed!
I do gentlework or slow stitching and the old linens and fabrics work so well, as well as old buttons and trims.
It was my weekly task to iron the pillow cases and table cloths. That you for stirring up that old memory.

Sigh for moving back to California - where we have no storage space for linens! But yay for great weather!
Unique or dorky - get out of my head!

You could add dried lavender to the small linen bag and make it a sachet.

Thank you, Sarah!
Great ideas. Just wondering - how much do you spend on each vintage shopping trip. Do you go with a budget?

@@SheHoldsDearly awesome, thanks!!
Love the color of your fireplace can you tell me what it is Thanks
Me, too
Sandi
It's "Analytical Grey" by Sherwin Williams!
Love everything...i don't see the link to how you make the hamper. Can you help me find that episode? Thank you for the inspiration!!
Hi Rita! This was an older tutorial, so it's over on the blog! sheholdsdearly.com/diy-hamper-tutorial/

Forgive me if you mentioned it in the video, but I love that gold framed print above your fireplace. Is it something you can link to?
That was thrifted, I'm sorry I don't have a link! :(
@@SheHoldsDearly What a great find! Thanks anyways :)
I love what you are doing with the blanket and adding the trim. Question, why not use a sewing machine? Is it because of the fabrics?

What is the free box? We don't have that here:-/ Love your style!!!
A box at a garage sale that is not priced, items given away for free! :)
I can not find your video on how to keep your white linens (sheets, pillowcases, etc.) crisp clean white. The can you please help me?
Here's the one you're looking for! : ua-cam.com/video/Et6r0k57_Xk/v-deo.html
👏
Does anyone know what the green paint color of the chest of drawers in this video? I’ve searched the channel but no luck.
It's "Boxwood Green" by Miss Mustard Seed!
How to fix a big rip in a sheet...?
I don’t, once a sheet rips the fabric has become too old.😔
Nice ideas. the cloth bag is muslin, with an "n". the other one is a religion.
Yes, I caught that after! Thank you!
K. I've been doing all of this for decades....guess I'm way ahead of "whatever."
Those aren't crochet wash clothes... they're hot pads for under a hot dishon your table.
That's another possible use! They hold up well as dish cloths, too!
I already threw away some hot pads, hand made and given to me as a Christmas gift. But I could have used them as wash clothes, which would have been great. . 😒
It’s all very lovely. Are you ok? Notice your skin on your face has been getting worse and worse in the last couple of months.
