I really think it's so important that people get to see everything. I really wish we had done this at our old premises as well but back then it wasn't as simple as it is today to have a blog x
My dad wanted a solid mahogany coffin with raised lid etc. He got his wish but we had to wait 2 weeks for it to be made as we were told nobody around where we are has that sort of thing. Do many people opt for solid hardwood or is it mostly laminated chipboard?
Great video mick as usual. Bit of a soft question but how much does your average coffin weigh and the way they are stacked do you ever worry about scratching the lids of the coffins below. Cheers mick
Good question around 4st on average. And we have sponge between the coffin rack . So hopefully by taking care when putting them away we don't have any problems
Well I believe all funeral directors should offer this service. When they decorating the office or Chapels there all over Facebook showing what they're up to . Yet nothing about the most important place at a funeral home. Where loved one's are Resting. I believe if you have nothing to hide let people see.

@@MCF155 hi thanks for kind reply so it is possible for me even tho so tall but slim to be crematted will i need bigger coffin and whats best type for basic cardboard wicker or the pine wood type thanks
@michaelskuce3677 If you speak to you're local funeral director they will help you decide. Obviously there's so much to choose from. And yes it would be a special order coffin
Hi Michael, how are you ? So when somone dies and you look after them, do you have coffins ready instead of order to size ? I always thought the families chose the coffin and you had to order it in, its interesting to see, love these kinds of videos :)
Good afternoon Lucy we keep a stock of around 40 to 50 coffins in different types different sizes. Obviously we can't keep every on in stock when a loved one is brought into care the person is measured and if we have the coffin in stock that's fine if not we order one for the person. X
We used to use Steve sault, we used to use bradnams in haverhill but my ex boss fell out with them, in fact, he used to fall out with everyone, including me 😢
My opinion, and only my opinion, is that the Independent Funeral Directors offer a more personal and sympathetic service to Families, as most are Family run, with Family values. Its a shame when these get bought out by larger corporate types.
I love these behind the scenes videos.

I remember the old hand cranked scissor lift at the QMC in Nottingham in the Human Morphology department when I worked there as a Security Supervisor.

It Depends on if its for a cremation or burial.
Most choose a Vinere for cremation but a lot of families choose a solid for a burial.
What happened to Batesville Caskets there?
Nice to see you both though something had happened to you both 😢
It's been a busy week for us my friend sorry we haven't had time to blog.

Here in The US we got rid of Coffins in the early 1900's
Well in England the funeral service is still very Victorian.
Obviously more people are cremated in England then buried.
So wood is the best option.
Ours are steel ones
When you get butting some on miss show
