You can’t make this man support something that he truly does not support. He did nothing offensive, he didn’t disrespect anyone, he respectfully refused.

The league, teams, and players have big enough social media platforms to show support to whatever cause they wish to, but game time activities should be about the game only.

This is ridiculous. Everyone is being forced to tow the line now with this LGBTQ stuff, regardless of how they feel. Ivan did nothing wrong, he was being true to his religion and did not speak ill of anyone, and now is being lambasted by this guy Sid. He talks about tolerance, what about tolerance for Ivan’s freedom of religion? And i bet you anything that there were other guys on the team who prob weren’t too thrilled about having to wear it either, but the fact of the matter is it’s just easier to tow the line and not get crucified in the media. He's Russian Orthodox, which outwardly preaches that homosexuality is a sin and an abomination. Russia has a very clear history of abuse and mistreatment of gays in their country. As a Muslim, I respect Christians like this man a great deal. We need to differentiate not agreeing with lgbtq folk on their beliefs from believing they should be harmed for their beliefs.
