Actually the current South African anthem was adopted in 1996, from 1994 until 1996 South Africa had two anthems that were played always the one after the other, the original version of Nkosi sikelel' iAfrica and the Call of South Africa in Afrikaans and English.

I am proudly Mpondo(an isiXhosa dialect of people that live on the Wild Coast and north of Transkei-Eastern Cape). I am a descendant of the Tolo clan that dominates the Ntabankulu region as the royal chieftancy in Mpondoland. I recognise isiXhosa as my spoken language. I schooled in Natal(present day KZN) my whole schooling life even in Tertiary so my school taught languages that I mastered were English, isiZulu & Afrikaans throughout my schooling life. My mother is an isiBhaca(another isiXhosa dialect) speaking Swati woman and a descendant of the Royal Dlamini clan that migrated from Eswatini to Mzimkhulu. She also has reason to believe there Bushman/San/Khoikhoi blood in her family. I have lived amongst amaBhaca in Mzimkhulu so I can speak the isiBhaca dialect. Not sure what to call myself 😂My husband is of Sotho, Zulu and Irish descendant. Not sure what that makes my kids.🤔😮. Probably a South African Rainbow nation that speaks a medley of languages🎉

You have your facts slightly wrong. The National Anthem from 1910 to 1936 was God Save the KIng. From 1936 to 1957 it Was Die Stem van Suid Afrika and God Save the King/Queen From 1957 until 1994 it was Die Stem alone
Thank god old flags of South Africa as gone for ever. Now we got new flag of South Africa of 1994 of black independence of South Africa of there languages it will be for ever.
@@tfmkhonza1430 the Transvaal flag doesn't have anything to do with Apartheid. Actually none of these flags do, but the milk drinkers we have today have a problem with the oranje blanje blou and they use apartheid as an excuse. Same for basically everything Afrikaans.
I personally didnt like the colour combination of orange and blue and there's also another flag in the middle of it😒. It was colour blocking on another level and too busy for my liking. whereas the current one has meaning and interpretation to the colours and the colours compliment each other😉
Before you do please 1st bring back British colonization over the Dutch(that upgarded themselves to become the Afrikaaner Voortrekkers) 😂.. I wanna see something 😂 Just play it out like that and we will see😂

The last bit of the anthem of post-apartheid South Africa is the same melody as the old South African anthem.
Simple reason: it's the same tune. They just altered some of the lyrics (to make them more politically correct)
and of course to incorporate English into the anthem
