    Usefull video , if possible make a video about a film making kit with F6 which includes microphones , boom carry bag etc might be useful for many new users

      I have been voicing that idea around for a while. I think I will do a classic “What’s in my Audio bag?” Video. I feel that can help guide people. The issue is, I use equipment that is way out of most peoples budget. i don't know how well it will be received by people on a budget. Once i start writing a script, i feel it will come together smoother.

    May I ask, is there a way to change the function of the fader knob to adjust gain?

    • @RebelTech1990
      @RebelTech1990  Рік тому

      The only way that the fader knob is a "gain knob" is when you are using 32 bit float. Hope this helps, thanks for checking out the video!

    Apparently, for those direct-to-camera users, you can just use the headphones out into your mirrorless camera and you don't get that line out noise. Quality definitely is different but it is almost not noticeable if it is for run and guns!

      For scratch audio that’s all you really need. The Zoom F6 is definitely not for people trying to use the line out as regular audio.
      Thanks for checking out the video!

    Line out still noisy in 2022 with latest firmware? Still needed atenuator cable?

    • @RebelTech1990
      @RebelTech1990  Рік тому +2

      Unfortunately you’ll still need to use a attenuator. I think it’s a hardware thing. They tried to fix it in firmware updates but some people it worked and some it didn’t. For me it helped. Just got lucky.

      @@RebelTech1990 Here in 2023 with firmware update 1.9, is there still a line out problem?

    Do you ever feed the line out from the F6 to an XLR camera and if so, are there any issues you have run into (aside from it being consumer line level)?

    • @RebelTech1990

      Too be honest I never use the Line out. I have tried 3.5mm to xlr cables but never had much luck with them. Sorry I couldn't give you more info, but try asking Chris Spiegl about the line out. He does a great job with F6 videos as well and he is cool dude. He should be able to give you more information. I'm not sure if he has the cable but he might so just give him a shout out and let him know I sent you.

      @@RebelTech1990 Ah that's pretty much answered my question really. I've just got a Rode VXLR Pro, which converts the unbalanced 3.5mm to balanced XLR and need to test (only got an older H4n at the moment - which I don't use anymore as I normally go straight to camera). I have a lot of panel discussions coming up and the idea of the automix, having a 32bit float version of it and running to camera seemed like a very good solution. I know that doesn't necessarily convert the consumer to pro line level but again, this I could live with if the line out on the F6 works.

    • @RebelTech1990

      In my opinion, if you get the F6, just trust your XLR tracks. In my tests, afterwards, the AutoMix only exports to the LR tracks. The individual track files are still raw. 3.5mm to xlr Converters don’t work at least with the F6. I never had any luck with them.
      So if you plan on getting the F6, I would only get if if you plan on investing in a applicable XLR mic. So depending on what you are doing will determine which one you get. Example: Interior Dialogue - Pencil Condenser
      Exterior/Treated Room Dialogue - Shotgun
      Podcasting/VO - Condenser/Dynamic
      I have a bunch of video covering all of these. Also my friend, Chris Spiegl, covers affordable Pencil Condenser mics.
      Hope this help, let me know if you have any more questions

      @@RebelTech1990 The automix going to the LR is great for what I do, which would be getting that feed to camera for live/panel discussions. My mics are the octava mk12, rode ntg1 and then a mix of rode wireless go's and their filmmaker kit. There is the possibility of podcasts layer on down the line and I've got podmics for that.
      Is the LR track recorded in 32bit float or as a separate 24 bit file?

    • @RebelTech1990
      @RebelTech1990  2 роки тому

      If you have it on, the LR output will be in the same folder as the track take. One will say the track number and the other will have the LR instead. This is if you use Mono/Stereo. if you use Poly, then its all in the same file and you will have to separate them afterwards. I know in premiere it's very easy but in a Daw there are some extra steps.

  • @livemusicreportscustommusi4245

    If I understand correctly. There is on way to adjust my line out level without going into the menu... And that the knobs are only to adjust the record level. Am I correct? Thank you.

    • @RebelTech1990
      @RebelTech1990  Рік тому

      The knobs adjust the gain in 32 bit. They also adjust the output LR. The line out is a separate adjustment, because it’s a different signal. Hope this helps! Thanks for checking out the video!

  • @JerzyCarranza

    So, does this only affect the Poly record mode?

    • @RebelTech1990
      @RebelTech1990  2 роки тому

      This just allows you to adjust the L/R track (Stereo Track) and Line out volumes. The Poly has all the tracks and the L/R track files lumped into one file. Then it can be expanded in the software that you use. When you expand the poly file you will see the L/R track is in there as well. I did a video on Poly and Mono stereo, it may explain some of it further. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Is it possible to get 32 bit float recording on line out to camera? Or no?

    • @RebelTech1990
      @RebelTech1990  2 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately it doesn’t offer 32 bit through the line out. I believe it’s capped at 24.
