Your videos are very calming. You have a very ASMR like voice.
Keep it up
Thanks so much. I appreciate it a ton!
I totally agree! 😂
I'd also recommend OzTalksHW, I believe it is. Both have excellent, professional presentations. Wonderful creators 😊
Thanks for the excellent review of the Ally X. I haven't had any experience with a handheld but this review made me decide this is the one I want and need. Bought one today, picking it up after work. Looking forward to playing with this very much. Thanks again for the great info and review.
Glad I could help! Let me know what you think of it.
I love my ROG Ally X, such a wonderful handheld which totally fixed the issues I had with the OG Ally
The upgrades from the original Ally to the X are really worth it!
Really good. My first handheld pc. Been playing many games with it. Even massive AAA games.
What’s your favorite game to play on it?
@@VladGamingTechWorld The persona series, even the Trails series as well. Something about JRPGs on a handheld just feels so right. Also been playing GoW Ragnarok. Plays great! ❤️
My first handheld PC as well! Downloaded all FF13 series, indie titles, and recently purchased Forspoken. I really want to try FF16.

Love persona on the deck
I dont have a rog ally and I really want to have one , but I just cant get over these bezels , I wish the 2nd generation of the aly has an 8 inch screen , just fill these bezels and I wouldnt want anything else
You get used to the bezels but I agree I would have preferred thinner bezels so will just have to wait and see what Asus does on the next one!
Stop crying and play
i have the same issue with the right trigger, but it should be easily fixable.
also, you might want to disable some of the features such as CPU boost, and use manual mode to set your watts as you need them.
and make sure that you have at least 8GB of video memory set up, if not more.
i usually play at around 16-18 watts for older games and ps2 and ps3 emulation, and 20-22 watts for more demanding titles.
in manual mode, that usually means i get enough juice to run those titles, no black screens ever.
(i did set my screen to 120hz and capped fps to 60 though)
Same! My settings are similar to yours. I think the only thing I didn’t do was turn off cpu boost. I’ll need to do that and see if it stops the black screen.
Same here. It’s weird, it got the issue 2vweeks after I got the handheld, but all of sudden it just went away by it self. Now it’s perfect
This. Such videos are what I was looking for when wanting a gaming device considering I'm away from home, in another city. But just as a reference material, could you put out a video showing how the video editing experiences would be on this device? Be it davinci resolve or Premiere pro? Please?
I’m working on several different videos right now, so not sure if I’ll have time for it. But I’ll see what I can do.
I almost exclusively use my ally x with bazzite with few exceptions. I even dual boot my main pc with bazzite now
As of right now I’ve been using playnite.
Man this reminds me of my Sega Game Gear growing up.
We've come a long way from the '90s handhelds of yesteryear.
I still remember having the original GameBoy.
Nice to see another NFS Heat player haha. Great review video man!
Appreciate it, thanks so much!
Appreciate it, thanks so much!
Creaky triggers, dpad, and body and also janky windows made me make the decision to return mine.. you can fix creaks with silicone oil but man.. $800 dollars!! Other than that, was great. Thanks for the video!
Well it’s good to know I’m not the only one having these issues
Thankfully my dpad and triggers are all working fine. Only been a week though. Also, gotta agree with windows issues, command center doesn't always open or close immediately upon button press. Sometimes they just get stuck in animation. Also, my start menu crashed once, had to restart to fix. Hope these will get ironed out as I'm really enjoying gaming on this in my spare time. I want to keep this device for at least 3 years.
My face buttons squeak, but it just makes me subconscious playing around other people.
Actually $855 after taxes
@@LucidCoder 🤣🤣🤣
Unfortunately the squeaking isn't an isolated issue, and it's the reason why i returned mine. Had squeaking in three different places 😢
Oh really? Thanks for sharing and letting me know. I appreciate it!
Btw does the sd card reader work now trying to decide between this and the legion go and that’s one of the things I hated about the OG ally
Why theres so many frame lags in the games you've shown in the video? I'm thinking of moving from Steamdeck original to this, but after seeing your video... I dunno anymore. Is the lag that bad? Thanks mate
I’m here thinking the exact same thing came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed that
From what it looks like. The video only is in 30fps. The handheld itself has VRR so it shouldn't be skipping.
Great question! As mentioned in one of the comments. I shoot my videos in 30 frames per second. The gameplay was smooth but in some of my clips it would show a lag on camera but not while playing. I’ve been able to play demanding games quite smooth on this device.
Great video 👍👍 trying to decide which one to get msi claw 8 ai or the rog ally x?? Msi claw 8 ai has 8 inch screen which one?? Thank you new subscriber thx
Thr current MSI doesn't have the new Intel chip. That's the Acer your talking about that's releasing soon.
I would go with the ROG Ally X.
@@VladGamingTechWorld thank you
Hey bro can you suggest me which tablet should I buy the Ipad air m2 or Samsung galaxy tab s9. My main priority is watching movies animes and little bit gaming
For performance I would go with the iPad due to the powerful M2 chip, but do remember it still comes with a 60hz refresh rate as well as an LCD panel. As for the Galaxy Tab S9 it comes with a better display as it comes with an 2x AMOLED display and also comes with a refresh rate of up to 120hz. The Snapdragon Gen 2 is a powerful chip just not as powerful as the M2. If you only care about watching movies, anime and a little bit of gaming I would go with the Tab S9 due to its display and 120hz refresh rate. The AMOLED display is great for watching content especially anime. Also you can probably find that tablet for a way cheaper price now.
Thanks 😊
I have the same issue on black screen freezing😂 found out from the Reddit that it usually occurs when you push the Y button.
Wow such a weird reason for a screen to go black.
Should I get the rog ally X or the PS5 Pro?
Rog ally X , PS5 pro is a scam . I just got an ally X and it's literally the best handheld I've ever played with . And I had a legion go and a steam deck .
It depends on what you’re looking for in a gaming console
How the performance on the tv? Any latency or lag?
@@strawberrycupcake1993I'm looking for handheld confused between SD Oled VS Rog ally x . Which one is better? Is windows difficult cause lot of people love steam OS . Thanks
Get the Ally X.
The PS6 will be the real upgrade to the PS5, and there's no new software on the Pro-to warrant the price.
My sticks are crunchy since day 1 with the o.g white ally.. they are cheap sticks, they need to use what the ps5 use!
That would be amazing if that were the case. The ones on the ROG Ally X do feel great though.
That's why there are so many returns on the white one. The X has improve sticks but you can also buy 3rd party non drift sticks.
I literally use ge force now for ultimate for more demanding games and xbox game pass
I just started using GeForce now to see what the experience felt like on it.
Im thinking of getting one. Can this run epic games and gog?
yes it can
Yes it can!
You should try ge force now ultimate on the rog ally x
I actually just added it and looking to give it a try
@@VladGamingTechWorld you mind making a video would like to see your input on the ultimate tier using the rog ally x
is he sponsored?
@@f8llen no I wasn’t sponsored for this.
for $799 you could get a gaming laptop and connect a ps4 or ps5 controller to use as the mouse
the handheld still looks good tho :>
Yea you can also get a desktop with more power. Your buying a weaker pc for the handheld experience not mounting on a table.
@@NatsumeKonno like the victus 15L desktop?
@damdøggy-g8o I saw a 3060 rebuild at costco $800 but come on your not gonna carry that around with you. Laptop is more Ideal but not as more portable as a handheld. The issue is the power and cost. But we choice handhelds anyways.
@@NatsumeKonno yeah imma get a gaming laptop for both portability and home gaming, I'll use DualShock 4 controller when I'm indoors somewhere like a friends house and when I'm home I'll use my Xbox controller :>
What pad is that in the thumb clip?
I love you videos
Thank you!
Are you sure those triggers and sticks are hall effect?
They aren't hall effects. The new Acer that's coming out has hall effects but it's Intel base and no back buttons.
@@NatsumeKonno no back buttons is a shame, I use back buttons on my ally x all the time. Much more comfortable than pressing the stick buttons.
It’s so good
I definitely think it’s worth the price tag!
If it had oled screen it would be perfect, now Meh
U can't say it's the best when u haven't used any other handheld
The screen is way too small.
What size would you prefer?
Lol try looking at a 5.5 screen that's on the switch lite and the gpd win 3. The 6.5 or 7 inch is the go to standard now.
Asus have problem with Warranty.
Best buy is known for having a great warranty so that solves that problem
That they do!
That’s the reason why I buy most of my tech from BestBuy!
