This isn't complicated stuff. I'm just long winded and thought I'd give details since I like details myself
    - Spend time outside
    - Eat whole foods & real ingredients
    - Read and/or listen to the Word, Journal, Pray, Talk with God throughout your day
    - Move your body, whether it be an actual workout, walking, stretching, gardening (involves lots of lifting, bending, stretching)
    - be hydrated: drink your minerals
    - read books

So exciting to see your old Bible and Dictionary! A few years ago I studied the history of the Bible and gained a deep appreciation for the King James Version.
To increase my comprehension of the olde English and to help me better read in context, I have paired it with the Websters 1828 Dictionary which references the KJV.
I am discovering the importance of looking up words, even ones that I am familiar with as my modern education has influenced not only what I think certain words mean, but ultimately impacts what I think these words mean as I read my Bible. It truly is sad how much knowledge and understanding has been lost over time, but praise God for these old books that help lead us back to the old paths and the good way. 💗✝️💗
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16

It had been a blessing! There is an app for the Webster's 1828 Dictionary. I have compared it to my hard copy and found the definitions to be word for word.
For anyone who feels hesitant about the olde English of the KJV, look up your favorite scriptures in the KJV and compare them to your favorite modern translation. Then use the Webster's 1828 to look up key words that stand out in the KJV and consider all the differences you see.
A few years ago, I was trying to pick a Bible Version for my yearly Bible Plan. As I compared 6 different modern translations side by side (NLT was favorite), I was shocked and disappointed to discover how much they varied and sometimes would contradict each other. Wanting to find the best English translation initially led me down this path.
My first year reading only the KJV was a bit cumbersome, but I am grateful for the help of the Holy Spirit to perservere. The more I read, the more familiar it becomes, the more my comprehension has increased, and my faith has grown stronger than any other time in my life.
There truly is something so special about the KJV that came at great sacrifice by the martyrs through history willing to lay down their lives, so we could read and know the Bible for ourselves today. 💗✝️💗

Hey shout out from Sri Lanka!! 🇱🇰I'm so curious to know who the Sri Lankan pastor could be...??
Anyway, I've been glued to your channel ever since I discovered it about a month or 2 ago. I think I've covered half of your videos and a few from your other channel too. I've come to realise we've got soo much in common with regards to how you met your partner, the time periods, the number for years married, the time of year married and life after marriage, not having kids for the same period of time and I can go on.. It blew my mind. And now getting to know that you have connections with a "Sri Lankan". Hardly anyone know we exist as a country. How God works and connects is mind blowing. I'm so grateful to God for exciting me in ways that no one else can!!
But your channel and the other channel have been a tremendous blessing to me in a very very special way. I thank God for you both. I'm truly truly blessed. And I bleed you both in return too. Love you loads

We compost everything that doesn’t go to the chickens too. All of the non edible things from butchering chickens, whole animals if something happens to them (for example we just lost a ewe and a lamb, ☹️ sad that something happened to them, but grateful they can feed future grass for our livestock.). In the garden we usually find a random chicken bone or two too. 🫣
I love the old bible and dictionary! So beautiful and I love when you share things from them because it’s so different than our culture today. Maybe you should make a habit of reading a definition with each of your videos! 🥰

Thanks so mich for this video, Kelli! I have been listening/following your channel for a little while now, and have seen you put into words some things that I have been feeling but couldn't get into words. That is such a huge help for me, as I love and feel led to share with other women what God is teaching me.
I am learning to love (or rather to get into the habit again of) looking up the definitions of words, yet I had never considered looking up the definitions of habit and routine, which I know realize are two different albeit related words. This revelation seems to take an enormous weight off of my shoulders... I've been struggling to make good habits and routines in my home (with our 15 month old daughter) and always felt like I'm failing at it. This puts things into perspective and I know with God I can do it.
May God bless you both and the generations that He is calling forth through you two!
Also: my husband and I are desiring to build up our own UA-cam channel with content like this - just in Spanish. We have not found much on biblical worldview, Christian homemaking, biblical parenting, etc. in Spanish, so I am so thankful for your and other godly women's channels on this platform that teach and equip me!

This was a perfect compliment to your last video.
We use the Prime equipped protein powder.
I mix it with cream, and it's a very tasty chocolate cold foam.
We have grown the lemon basil for 2 years now.
It's lovely in tea and a salad also.
I impressed myself with saving seeds from my plants last year.
I sprinkled the seeds randomly through our garden.
    We were blessed....Praise the Lord!
Would you consider doing a video of preserving your herbs?
    I am air drying mine.
I don't own a dehydrator at this time.
We are being intentional with being in the sunshine for 15 to 20 mins and some physical activity.
I am deficient in Vitamin D, and this is the all natural way to absorb it, plus the other benefits you mentioned.
I definitely will add the grounding also.
We are intrigued about the mouth tape.
I have never heard of that.
Is that to promote breathing through the nose?
Also, the hot cocoa sounds perfect.
I suffered from insomnia before I accepted Christ.
Praise the Lord for healing me from that.
I typically abstain from anything chocolate before bed.
This does not disturb your sleep?
I would love to try it.

Thank you Sonja, your comments are always lovely to read. I've never thought of putting lemon basil in salad but I can see how that would be delicious! And at our old house I would hang dry my herbs on one of those folding clothes racks with string. Our house now is so humid, I mainly just use our dehydrator now. But hanging them had always worked for me in the past if you can manage the humidity in your home! And that's exactly it with the mouth tape, helps me breath through my mouth at night and encourages my tongue posture to be pressed flat at the top of my mouth.

Hi Kelli, I have also been reading the Bible this year using a plan that will have me finish by years end. I have found myself wondering about listening to it but then decided against it. I may give it a try since my sister and niece both do and are also quite happy with it. I have found the Old Testament to leave me with so many questions. Although I enjoy reading the stories I have also been puzzled by lifestyles etc but I’m loving it.

I’m new to watching your channel, and I love the idea of women embracing the home and family. I’ve never enjoyed dragging myself to work every single day; it really impacted my mental health. I still work part time now that I’m married, but I’m at home with my son too.
But…women need a higher education. Not because other wise they’ll just end up flipping burgers, but because without exposure to that boarder framework and way of thinking, they’ll be unable to deconstruct the left woke narrative. I’ve seen so many women who aren’t educated in bad relationships, or ending up as single moms or in and out of relationships with men who are unwilling to be husbands and providers, who allow themselves to demeaned by embracing ways of life that are leftist and endangering women. Educated women generally chose partners who are stable and want home and family.
    Just my thoughts!

As an older woman, I can tell you that life is full of surprises. Some great and some not so great.
I would encourage young women to have a skill that will help you both in a home or in a workplace. I do recommend young girls in high school to work a part-time job after school. This will teach them to appreciate a husband who works hard so she doesn't. If you can do a dual enrollment with a vocational school or community college. Get a degree in finance. This would help you in your home and in the workforce if you and your husband get in a tight spot.
Many women supplemented their families' income during the Great Depression. How? Doing everyday things like pressing clothes, laundry, and babysitting, and they would sell baked goods. I almost forgot hair cuts.

My husband and I were in several tight spots while raising children. We just tightened our belt. No matter how tight, I wouldn't let someone else raise my children. Plus I could of never afford the daycare either.
Saying that, I liked your ideas at the end. 😊
PS I am an older woman, too. 😊

That is what we have encouraged our 2 young daughters to do. One just finished getting licensed to be a hair dresser at a vocational school. I figured this could be a career or she could work out of her home, if $ was tight in her family life. Or at the very least her skills will save her family $ if she can provide pricey services for her husband & kids (& her mom once in awhile *wink*wink). The other daughter does not know what she wants to do, but we are NOT encouraging college. College really caused me to lose my way in life & with my walk with the Lord. Actually it just about killed me (& I am not exaggerating). They have both worked part time jobs which have taught them how to be good stewards of money & time & to put value on how hard one has to work to earn a living. I have actually made a contribution with all the things you listed LOL. I cleaned elderly folks homes & I could bring my girls with me. I would bring their laundry home & do ironing. I have babysat, ran errands, & sold baked goods. I have a farmstand out in front of my home & sell eggs, veggies, pies, plants, sewing projects, etc... And I DO have a college degree, but it never got me very far. I have gotten farther by being resourceful & helping my husband. (and by farther I am not talking about $$$$, I am talking about security, confidence, happiness, contentment, friends, a feeling of success)

Kelli, can you recommend alternative places to shop instead of the big box type stores that support values we don’t hold as believers?

    • @homewithkelli
      @homewithkelli  5 місяців тому

It depends on what you're looking for. So for food, we try to find it as local as possible first. Through farmers markets, realmilk.com, upickfarmlocater.com or pickyourown.org, facebook. This is how I've always found local food sources near us. Then if we can't get it from there, we buy from Azure, if not from azure we shop from Publix (the heiress of the company is very conservative) and another semi local health food shop near us.
For art and craft supplies, I have local fabric or yarn shops that we got to, if I can't get it from there, Blick.com or Jerrys Artarama, and if I need it asap I'll go to Hobby Lobby.
How I've done it, is when I have a need I'll look up local places to try and find it and usually there is somewhere that's an option! It just takes a little extra time to research!

I just started this video. Miss Kelly, is fasting safe for women? I just wanted to ask while I continue to watch this.

I did these longer fasts several years ago. I think everyone will have their own convictions with it. I think if a woman does feel lead to fast for spiritual reasons, then it's best to do it at the beginning of your cycle.

Hi, goata exercises is what I mentioned, not yoga. Goata is a form of stretching and working out that helps with correct posture position and realign our bodies into the positions that we were created to be in. I have linked their website in the description.

Is it wrong to pray for your future good godly husband when you are currently married? I got married when I was 19 (pregnant at 18). Neither of us were Christian at the time. He was terrible to me when we were young. It's now almost 30 years later....I am Christian, he is not. We are different people now than we were when we were teenagers. I'm so scared to leave...is it wrong in the eyes of the Lord? ...The current state of the world. ... I've never been alone...I'm afraid I'll be alone forever. I am a homemaker.

All your answers can be found in the Word. Praying for your future Christian husband can still be your current husband. When the Lord gets ahold of us, we ARE a new creation and the old is made new.
