Great video! I love how you looked up old definitions & then followed up with the Bible. This was very encouraging and timely for me 💛 I appreciate you sharing about how we all go through different seasons. We can so easily fall into the comparison trap but with the reminder of being in a different season can help fight against that! Thank you for sharing another awesome video! You are a blessing!

At 52, I don't even recognize this country. It's not the America I grew up in. Then I look at Russia and the way they've embraced their Orthodox Christian faith after over sixty years of not being allowed to practice openly. They aren't letting go of Jesus. I watch Baklykov Live with Sergey Baklykov based in St. Petersburg Russia when he is walking through various cities within Russia, and it looks like the America I grew up in. Women look like Godly feminine women. Men are walking around with the waist of their lands where it belongs: AROUND THEIR WAIST. The women aren't tatted out looking lunatics. There are flower shops everywhere. Gardens are abundant throughout cities there. Open free for all to enjoy. Hearing you talking about the ugliness in America made me think about this drastic in America from when I grew up and now.

Comfrey grows back so eagerly, I usually cut it 2 to 3 times in our colder climate and use it as mulch around my growing plants to feed them, snd it still manages to grow put again. It breaks down supper quickly. I'm very curious about the compost/fertilizer tea!

I've been feeling the tug to wear skirts and dresses only. I feel so grieved and sad, because I'm so comfortable in pants (and as a soon-to-be Medical Doctor, pants are very practical for my work; imagine straddling a patient to do CPR in a skirt 😅). But I also feel guilty for not wanting to yield. I don't know how to feel.

Thanks so much Kelly (& Scott) for your content! 🙏 I am a homemaker myself but very much in the beginnings of figuring out how to create an economy, how to get things done when no one tells me to do them (after a lifetime of that being the case!), eventhough I have so many ideas & have a very supportive, providing husband, it’s such an uncommon “job”, especially as we haven’t been blessed with kids either. So thank you so much for your guidance & inspirations! My question is, how do you stay positive and patient when it comes to conceiving? It seems like you guys have tried for years, whereas we only started trying this year, however, I find myself getting really sad about not having kids yet & even feeling “unpurposeful”. If this isn’t too private to share (which I totally respect!), then I would love to hear how you do it 🙏 I am sure you would be communicating with the Lord on this manner, but even the practical things you do to support your fertility would be very interesting 😊 Lots of love from Australia 💗

I appreciate the definitions from the 1800's. I also like to look into the definitions of words to get context, a greater perspective, and deeper understanding. I usually use a concordance for biblical words. I'll have to be on the lookout for a dictionary from the 1800's! Thank you for the video.😊

I remember when I was younger (I’m 59) I lived in a neighborhood that was full of women homemakers. And usually once or twice a week, around 11AM the women gathered at someone’s house and had coffee and chatted. Sharing stories of there days and what they were doing at home to make it flow better. There was a lot of laughs, tears and encouragement… and occasionally a tad bit of gossip😂😂. But it was just the norm to be at home and they loved it!!

I'm around the same age as yourself and my childhood was the same in the 1970's. Yes 11am coffee at someone's home with maybe a tupperware or jewellry party occassionally. All the Dads worked, could only get a mortgage on the Dad's wage, so housing fairly cheap, all the gardens kept nicely. Kids all played together out in the street. Real sense of community.

Have you ever gotten taunted or made fun of because you want to wear a more feminine clothes? I am visually impaired legally blind, and I love to wear dresses simply because it is easier because I don’t have to worry about a top or a bottom matching I put on one dress and it already matches. I get made fun of a lot because of it not that I’m against pants. It’s just a lot easier to get dressed in the morning. I don’t have to ask what colors go together. If you have ever gotten made fun of, how did you deal with it.

11:37 timestamp....this spoke to me big time. This has been a topic of conversation, round & round in my life for the past couple of days. How timely! My younger daughter just reminded me of a simple thing we used to do together (take a walk every morning, after I put her sister on the school bus). I was trying to lose weight & get in shape, but she just thought I was trying to entertain her. She retold a memory from that time & I was blown away that she could even remember ....she was only 2!!! I had to work for the first little bit of my older daughter's life. I missed her first smile, her first steps, & other important things. The babysitter would make a big deal out how she was the one getting to see the things & how I was missing out. I was so devastated during that time period. I actually ended up having a clinical nervous breakdown & was forced to quit working. I just could not keep up the pace. It is a very sad time in my life, when I look back on it. I actually have very few memories of my older daughter being very little, as I was not really present and suffering from a serious mental illness. Once I quit working & started focusing on my kids, home, husband, & developing hobbies/interests the mental anguish I was suffering started to subside. I had developed Clinical OCD (not the kind that people glibly joke about having. the real deal) that ruled my entire life. I would consider myself completely cured of that now - no medicine or therapy... Upon reflection, I have come to realize that I didn't have anything truly positive to focus all my attention on, so my mind made up false things to obsess about & worry about. Very irrational stuff. Once I got to be home, I had some motive for those 'obsessions' or compulsions....and I had time to delve into truly rewarding ways to spend my time! I am a much happier wife & mother, with friends & time to do lovely things.

Someone else I follow recently said something that really got to me. Just realizing how we are bogged down with endless noise from the world, from society about what and how we should be doing life. Even when we TRY to follow Gods standards and not our own or the worlds it is so hard to sort through all that noise sometimes, the things that have been beaten into our heads most of them totally wrong. Anyway, what she said was that we as women especially are constantly making life harder for ourselves in various ways, because we believe that “if we suffer greatly for __________ then when we ACHIEVE__________ it would MEAN MORE…..” then if we had just received these things and accepted them with grace. I mean most of us can’t even accept a compliment from someone we have to be down on ourselves somehow like we can’t just accept and receive Gods blessings. Motherhood, homemaking, being joyful, rested, calm, creating beauty, enjoying a happy husband and children, and home and having TIME to move naturally through our day, whatever the “blank” is that you think about. For me personally it is so difficult for me to stop, enjoy, slow down, rest. I don’t feel like I’m doing a good job unless I’m complete frazzled and dead inside 😩 that was my life experience and now it’s ingrained in me. Being happy in homemaking and receiving Gods blessings…many of us don’t even know how to do it and it’s so sad to see so much misery because of all these outside voices do this do that. We think to be worthy of all these things and living calm and being a well rested joyful woman is like only for the rich with slaves or something. It’s been a slow road for me to break free from this way of thinking but Ive made so many improvements. I always think about how God gave husband and wife their different work. And consequences of sin- He clearly said Adam was going to be working so hard to provide and that Eve would have pain and work so hard just to bring forth a baby. He didn’t then go on to say oh and Eve you’re going to have to be worked beyond your mental and physical capacity and do. It. All. Day In day out So you won’t have time to help Adam! But he’ll figure it all out it’s fine! And also-be miserable for the rest of your days being a wife and mother because of you enjoy it you’re doing it wrong! Nope. We have got to learn how to slow down and listen to God and we will know what to do, we’ve got to shut out ALL the thoughts that don’t seem to come from God. There are so many things I deeply regret with my motherhood journey so far because I listened to SO many wrong things, about what children need, and what is required of me or how important everything I do is, how to create and run a successful home economy. I had no one to help or teach me anything about what God wants…. This is needed today…..I’m so glad you have continued to put content out because it’s helping so many women. ❤

Interesting isn't it, growing up through the whole 70s my mother and grandmothers were housewives, it was the only term used, as one who stays home as opposed to a working woman, never gave it any thought and had no biblical association it seemed. It was just what countryside women did who had many children, looking after the home and family. House wife has become something so different today, it was not a derogatory term then as it seems to be now for some people who utter it. Sad really. I'm glad my mum was home with us, she taught me how to cook and sew and knit and craft many things

Great video Kelli (as always!). ❤️ Mother culture is a huge part of my day. We have nine children, including one-year-old twins, and when babies go down for naps, I get out my Mother Culture notebook (bought it on Etsy) and my reading journal, Bible, etc. and go out to the garden to pray, read and ask the Holy Spirit to teach me. I have learned more in my almost 20 years at home, self-educating myself than 20 years in “school”. Let the Holy Spirit lead education, whether that’s for mothers or children. He leads so much better! Many, many blessings!!!!

you are absolutely right! I have homeschooled for 10 years now (only have one more year until my 2nd daughter graduates yay!) and I have learned much more doing that than all my years in public school & college combined. Every time we learn new topic I am amazed at my lack of knowledge on the subject (& I consider myself a fairly well educated individual). I was misinformed on much of it, never taught a lot of it, or must be I didn't pay attention on the rest LOL. I truly feel like I have been in 20 years of self education since I decided to stay home. I definitely feel like I am a more well-rounded, intelligent, person than I was after college. 2 things I regret - going to college & not having more children. I actually have trouble conversating with women who work. It seems like they may know a lot about their job duties, but not much else. You end up listening to a bunch of gripes about bosses, gossip about coworkers, etc...very little in the way of pithy conversation. And I don't have any of the 'troubles' that they have, so it is hard to relate or keep my attention on the conversation. They seem to lack interest or curiosity in studying anything outside of their area of job duties and in their free time they are entangled in their kids' activities (which bring about the same topics listed above, except about coaches, teachers, other parents) or are more clued in to facebook or instagram than real life. My stay at home mom friends & I have much deeper, intellectual, & spiritual conversations & they tend to have more curiosity about the world around them.

@@pattyhansen7563 This is really beautiful. ❤️ I do pray that homeschooling, homesteading mothers could have tight-knit communities like the Amish and Mennonites do. (We live near some and know them well, but are not ourselves Amish or Mennonite.) I have found that many families like us are Reformed/Calvanists and we actually left a church like that. Now, we just attend a small Baptist church and there aren’t many homeschoolers or homesteaders. It can be hard to connect with like-minded people, but we are learning flexibility in our friendships. Personal and/or family convictions can be divisive, but the LOVE God gives us for the body of Christ can supersede that. ❤️ I loved reading your comment here! Many blessings. Kelli

@@kimalonzo3363 I LOVE having a big family! It’s funny. My husband and I have noticed that so many older people we have known wish they would’ve had more children. I’ve never heard someone say they wanted less. It’s a hard job, but the best job in the world. ❤️☺️
