@Trinity M well its not directly about her but rather about the body type itself. This channel is to learn and understand. It wouldnt be a direct attack on selena and suggesting so would mean that you have negative feelings about bigger bodys. Its simply an obserbation without any judgement to learn how this body type changes and what that would mean considering fashion choices. I think that its important for bigger bodied individuals to also see themselves represented in a body type and most celebrities that are shown are "hollywood appropriate skinny" and therefor easier to categories as one or the other body type
I think gamines are so easy to guess. It is very easy to distinguish them from other body types. Also the very structured crop tops and mini skirts look great on them as they have a girly and cute vibe.
Oh my I have to apologize, I read your comment wrong. I thought “gamines” was “geminie’ when I read this. Once I heard her go through the list and I saw “soft gamine and gamine” that I connected: Carissa she didn’t write gemini you just thought it was gemini at first read cause I literally didn’t know gamine was a word
I have a friend who from a bmi perspective is obese, but I just feel like she's a gamine, maybe she just has gamine essence, but she always looks great in gamine patterns and lines. I'd love a video on plus size people of different body types.
PLEASEEEEEE do one on Emilia Clarke, she is officially typed as Romantic and dresses a lot as a gamine of fg and with her weight fluctuating through the years, it’s really interesting :)
I have the impression that this "sexyfied" process that you said makes her look even smaller, like tiny tiny. Before, in other lines, you could see that she was a small girl, but it looked more moderate.
Ariana has always been my inspiration as someone who is roughly the same age as her yet extremely petite with the doe eyes/baby face. People often criticize me for looking too young but there's nothing I can do about it it's literally just my structure.
You should do a video on Anya Taylor-Joy! People are speculating she is a Dramatic, but she has a few features that are very mismatching (soft, huge eyes), but she doesn't quite seem to be Soft Dramatic. What do you think?
She likely had surgery to “open up” her eyes more, like Taylor swift did Anya had bigger/ round eyes to begin with, so now they are even more pronounced Lorry hill recently made an analysis video on anya!
Loved the video! Always when experts talk about Soft Gamines style they usually recommend us to not look overly girly and cute, but to rather balance that out. But I would absolutely love a video on how you actually can achieve this Disney princess/ mermaid look as a SG! 💘
Please do Jessica Lange! Kibbe typed her as Romantic but there is no way that can be correct. He must have just seen one photo that gave him the wrong impression. 173 cm, very sharp bones, long vertical line, voluptuous figure. I think she is probably SD.
I wish you included more of her recent wardrobe change since the Positions era. Great video btw we got to see a recap of her body through the years and how she styled it to compliment this shape. I have adored Ariana’s style through the years. She looks so sweet, classy, cute and innocent also with a hint of sexy. I just absolutely love Ari lol.
Aly I looooved this video, since I would categorize her as SG as well and her style differs from what is recommended for SG but she makes it work. I am SG too, so I always appreciate when you make SG content! Thank you for your work🔥🦋
Thank you for this video! I'm a soft gamine and I feel left out of the oversized trend. It just never suits me, makes me look wider and smaller. It was really interesting to learn how I can balance it! I really feel like the soft gamine fashion tips are a bit outdated. But I should 100% try wearing chockers
So interesting! Love how you research and how you remove the types she isn't. And her wardrobe analysis. Expert eye! Yes SG. That high ponytail is key to pull off certain looks.
I really appreciate this because I am also 5'2 with similar body type. I also look 16, even though I'm 27, and want to look more womanly and taken seriously, instead of "cute".
Thank you! Exactly the same here... I HATE being cute! No one takes me seriously they only treat me like a stupid brat... it makes me SO aggressive... I feel so disrespected and walked over
I loved this new format of video! I love seeing your take on officially un-typed celebrities and understanding your whole thought process. It is also really helpful to see celebrities of different body types working with (or against) their type in the style the chose for themselves, but also on red carpet and in casual outfits on the street Looking forward to more like these!
I always thought Ariana Grande is a FG who's imitating TR. She's had work done, I wouldn't put it past for her softness to have been added artificially. Though I can see pure Gamine as well, especially when placed next to a FG like Lady Gaga in Rain on Me, she looks softer in comparison.
Love this series!!!! I’d love for you to pick some Asian celebrities next since I’m an asian. Maybe some famous K-pop girl group would be fantastic!. Lisa and Jennie from Black pink for example 😊
Love these videos as we can see more examples of different body types and how you're analysing them. Would love to see more videos on Asian celebrities (korean, Japanese, Indian, etc)
It's interesting how you told us what you search for on Google to find accurate depictions of celebrity's bodys. I have typed in "celeb xy beach" before and felt like Google must think I'm some creep haha.🙈🙈 I check for the same things as you do, you did have some great tips though. Totally agree about Ariana Grande being a SG. It was between FG and SG for me right away just by looking at her but I'm not seeing broadly angular either. I think it's easy to confuse thinness for Yang or lack of fleshiness but those are very different things. She really has a unique way of disrupting vertical and balancing her proportions so that it fits with her style, it's quite interesting how many ways there really are to create a fitting silhouette.
I really like this type of video. I feel like I understand what it means to be a soft gamine now. Please keep doing them with celebrities of other types!

I just loved it!! It's so nice to see how your thoughts work when it comes to analysing someone's body type! And please also brings the Brazilian singer Anitta!
To those complaining about pictures of Ariana from many years ago in the video, there are also pics of Ariana in her latter 20s where she looks much younger than she did in a lot of her teenage pictures. She's a tricky one because for awhile it's like she was aging in reverse somehow. She looked her age in her teen years, but her features somehow became more baby-faced and she is like the youngest looking 29-year-old out there. Amazing genes or work done, I don't know. But good for her.
Wow Aly, this was very interesting. I have learnt a lot from your strategy of analysing her bodytype. It makes so much sense! Can you please analyse Olivia Palermo? She is Dramatic Classic like me and her style is so unique.
Thanks so much for going so in depth about your thought process! I had always wondered how I could find out my own body type and your raw thought process certainly helps me to get started with doing so.
I am a soft gamine and now it all makes sense. I’m a little fleshier than her but that’s just cause she’s very skinny but we are extremely similar in body shape and I always wondered why I could dress like her and pull it off so well even though I don’t generally go for that style. I think her leaning into a 60’s style especially made me think we had a lot in common cause I always look good in that sort of style too
I have been watching all your videos of kibbe body types, but i couldn't figure out which type I am. Thanks to this video, I finally see that I am a Soft Gamine. I don't know why, but somehow with the explanations in this video it "clicked" on my brain and I finally can see it!
Great idea! I love this video. As for suggestions, well, I would really love if you did Victoria De Angelis, the bassist of the Italian band Måneskin. I've never seen her typed before, but she has a lot of pictures dressed in very different styles and zero surgeries, so I think she'll be a good pick. I would also like to know what the body types of Nina Dobrev, Candice King and Kat Graham are, the girls from TVD. I feel like the show -unintentionally- played a lot with their body types, sometimes giving them outfits that made them look great and sometimes...not.
10:21 she doesn't look like this in 29, in this particular photo she's in her yearly 20's I think now she looks her age or kinda 26-27ish, still younger, but not THAT much
I would like to see Sabrina Carpenter because she is always dressed really well, and you wouldn't know her height just by looking at her with those outfits. 🌷🌷
Mick jagger is always interesting and there are tons of photographs from over the years. He's like some kind of famine I think since patterns and textures look so interesting on him.
Gwen Stefani. I liked her looks in the 90s. Also think she looks nice with long hair. Now I think she wears clothes that look way too rigid on her and her hair is too harsh.
Could you do Kirsten Dunst? She's a SC. I am a SC and I find our style guidance very limiting. Juliette Binoche would be great as well. Love this series!
just fyk, the pictures you picked are very old, or actually not so old but she changed sooooo much in the last couple of years. She changes a lot year by year. Of course she's always gonna be a SG but her style (and her face) are very different now. She's also way skinnier. Would have been nice to see more recent stuff and the change of style
@@kenpinkferrarii it's not the makeup... well not completely... but yeah her style didn't change as dramatically but I still think it changed a lot. She still uses the gamine lines of course.
Hmmm I would say for sure she is in Gamine family. I’ve always saw her as a FG though. Her pre-surgery self reminded me so much of Britney Murphy. I see her as a FG that dresses in SG lines. TBH it’s hard to tell because she’s had work done, but Ariana standing next to other SG’s like Sarah Hyland & she appears far more Yang than them. Her bodies musculature is defined IMO. She doesn’t look like she even needs curve accommodation. Her face has more vertical & a narrow chin (pre-surgery) Usually, SG’s have wider rather than longer faces like Ariana. Just my opinion though, nice to see how other people see her differently.
If you take into account her limbs she is SG. Her arms and legs aren't long for her body. She has small hands and feet. FG have longer limbs for their height and larger hands and feet for their height. I can see softness in Ariana in her face (pre-surgery) and in the shape of her hips and thighs. Her thighs have tone for her but they are definitely soft. She is toned because she works out but she's still relatively soft for someone so slim. If she gained weight she would only be softer and more rounded. Whereas when FG gains weight they become more stocky and square.
@@engchic Actually, FG’s come in all shapes & sizes. My niece is a FG with SHORT legs & is pear shaped exactly like Jennifer Love Hewitt. I feel FG is poorly understood. Not all of them resemble “boys.” I don’t see SG in Ariana Grande because for one in weight gain they become quite THICK. More so than TR’s & Kibbe has said this type appears thick even at a low weight & may feel they are overweight when they are not. It’s just the illusion of the SG weight gain. It is apparent in Sarah Hyland, Jenna Coleman, of Lucy Hale. You can see all of those women have similarly that is completely different than Ariana. Sorry, it’s just my opinion. I still believe that Ariana is a FG.
I have to disagree The Gamine family are the most diverse types to me I'm a FG for sure but when it comes to my face the only Gamine thing about it is that it looks 12 since I was 12 and I'm 25 now lol the rest is not Gamine according to the rules: my eyes are very small, wide nose , wide forehead , full lips but I'm still a FG So I'd say when sit comes to Gamine the only rules that apply to them concern the body, not the face so much
@@somebody7070 I believe in slight variations. But Ariana is far too Yang & not on the spectrum of SG to meeeeee. :) Jennifer Love Hewitt & Emma Roberts are both FG & have different shapes but same structure. That’s point I’m making, Ariana does not have a soft structure to meeeee. She is far too Yang. Ariana looks amazing in with added sharpness in a way that SG’s like Reese Witherspoon or Lucy Hale could never pull off. Just my opinion.
Her way of speaking and mannerisms are also playing on expectations others have based on her essence and body type. She speaks softly and uses her eyes in an innocent and girly way. Funny how if she dressed more classic or natural she would look like a little girl playing dress up but when she dresses like an innocent small little girl she looks flirty and playful and it works.
I think she is romantic as well, I am just curious about Aly’s in-depth take on her and why she sees her as R, since some people are ‘convinced’ she is SN.
Thank you, Aly! 🙏 Actually, this kind of analysis helps to pay attention better to the details in order to identify your own type 🤔 ...as I am still trying to understand my own body type. Could you analyse Sarah Paulson, please? P.S. Your sweater is so cute. 😊

I understand why you say that but I've also been typed as SG and I look exactly like her. She's not rectangular enough for FG I don't think
thank you so much for this detailed & informative video 🤍☺️
It would be great if you could analize Miley Cyrus
Love this series!
Hi Aly! Can you do Erika Eleniak or Jasmine Bleeth from the 90s?
This was very interesting and educational!
I would love to see Candice Swanepoel as flamboyant natural. 😍
I really enjoyed every bit of how you broke this down amazing.
Could you also do Camila Cabello? I would like to know which body type she has.
Genius Aly….very entertaining and informative!
I'm going to love that series !
Great series! Looking forward to seeing more videos. Please do Dakota Johnson and Zoe Kravitz. Both have great style
Can u also do a “does she know her color season” celebrity edition where we deep dive
HI! Love the video can you do Michael Jackson!
Emilia Clarke!
I'm pretty sure she is romantic
She is a Romantic, indeed. And Aly mentioned this on some videos, at least, in the pictures.
I think she is romantic as well, I am just curious about Aly’s in-depth take on her and why she sees her as R, since some people are ‘convinced’ she is SN.
Love ari ❤❤❤ great video and thought process. Thank you
With my wider face and wavy hair I could never pull off the high ponytail but it is a very fun and youthful style for those who can !
Great video! I love your makeup, btw! 🔥
I like this format 👍
So excited for this series. Hope you can do Amy Winehouse or Angelica Boyer
Thank you, Aly! 🙏 Actually, this kind of analysis helps to pay attention better to the details in order to identify your own type 🤔 ...as I am still trying to understand my own body type.
Could you analyse Sarah Paulson, please?
P.S. Your sweater is so cute. 😊
I was admiring that sweater too.
You should do
Michael Jackson,
Helena Bonham Carter,
Kate Moss,
Angelina Jolie
Love this thank you!!
Please do Kylie Minogue! I feel she’s similar to Ariana 😇
Agree, they're very similar. I think Kylie has a bit more of a booty though.
What about a video about Emilia Clarke?
