I loved Feralas back in Vanilla. The atmosphere of the deep Jungle. And i got my first Epic drop there from some Standard Mob. Some stupid gloves 😂 But Epic Drops while leveling were so rare. Good memories. Greetings from Germany and thx for bringing Back those memories
You got very lucky with the drops. You didn't get "Edgemaster's Handguards" did you? These are possibly the best gloves in the game for warriors. They cost a fortune in WoW Classic.
That's so cool! back in the days I also had my first Epic drop in Feralas from one of those hippogryphs that roam with those Yeti's! I had the Nightblade drop there, great memories! and thanks Meisio for putting so much effort in your video's, it means a lot to go back to those days in some shape or form.
This will always be one of my favorite zone tracks of all time. The music is just as gorgeous as the landscape itself. Feralas was a real treat to anyone who had the courage to venture that far away from major cities. I will never forget my first visit to the zone, all the way back in 2006.
Enchanted Forest 1 is mesmerizing. And this zone had/has the Shendralar, probabably the most iconic, hidden and mystic members of a faction ever. Ive never managed to complete the reputation to max with them before it has been removed from the game with patch 4.0.
I lived in this jungle for almost a month, atop a tree off the main road with 3 close companions. We fought Horde every day amidst unwavering balance-of-power struggles and same-faction griefers, yet still managed to achieve BR1 every week. I can still see the portal my good friend Lukn fell into while trying to fight off the last waves of enemies who would hunt us down from dawn till dusk. You will never be forgotten my dear good friend. See you on the other side.
The cello is divine. I didn't realise they remade the music and ambience for the Vanilla zones in Cataclysm. When I played Cata I had the music turned off and listened to my own playlist. I feel like I missed out.
Ooo, this one is an absolute treat. I find lush forests (especially during rainy weather) extremely comfortable, despite the fact that they're often inhabited by dangerous predators.
Oh cool, story time: Classic WoW was out for a couple weeks at this point. I'd been slowly leveling, just experiencing the majesty of this beautiful game. Started the chicken quest. Being a solo warrior, this was clearly a death sentence. I made it past the first couple packs and was on the downward part of the road, heading towards the shore. My bandages were on cd and I couldn't stop to eat cuz this stupid chicken wouldn't slow down. A pack of gnolls (I think with a healer) spawned and started beating the crap out of my chicken. I tried my hardest to kill them one by one, but mr chicken's hp was dropping fast, so I had no choice but to start taunting them onto me. None of my cds were up and death was inevitable. I hit like 10% hp and out of nowhere, I was at 100% hp and getting buffs. This random person came from behind and saw my distress. They healed me and helped me finish up the quest. It's one of those memories where I'll never forgwt the area and the kindness that was bestowed upon me. I hope you had a great adventure, whoever saved me.
One of my most beloved night elf maps. The whole south-west Kalimdor sector is awesome in its pure wild and enigmatic state. These trees surely play majore role in Feralas estetiques - always under the shadow of ancient giants. The atmosphere of long forgotten place along with such in Silithus is what i love here the most. Cataclysm tracks surely added deep in feeling of discovery yet so relaxing at the same time. Praise Cataclysm.
I always liked Feralas...so atmospheric, and so far away from the main questing zones. Very mysterious place with a lot to discover! And the music was like Ashenvale, so wondeful!
Bruh... Straight in the feels, such an oldschool area (be it classic or retail)... been so long since I've listened to its soundtrack Thanks for the upload
The beautiful, primordial wild of Feralas is where my human Warlock first encountered the Tauren of the Horde. She was slaying the wild Hippogriffs when out of the wild greenery charged an enormous, hulking tauren. As she turned to face this monster, a second enemy revealed itself in the form of a druid who wore its lion image. Immediately, she sacrificed her voidwalker and was encased in the glittering protective sphere of its soul as the two huge enemies beat against it with fervor, each blow thinning that ablative fortification. Yet this bought her the time necessary to unleash a Howl of Terror that sunk into the minds of both tauren, sending each fleeing in opposite directions, allowing the warlock to cover one in curses and magical corruption that rotted his form away, while the druid, injured and seeing his companion decay and collapse, stealthed back into the wilds. It was a grim welcome to Kalimdors verdant, yet treacherous beauty, and an encounter with its fierce and protective peoples.
I like Feralas. Seen very few people there when I played. Really thick jungle. Harder to travel through compared to other zones. Probably why people avoided it. I remember taking the ferry to the ruins of feathermoon to do quests there. Killing the wolves and the serpent mobs.
Cata Feralas got too much light for a "old growt forest". Vanilla Feralas got that mystic feel. Sun, view distance and lack of green fog are main problems i have with revamped zone.
Man, all those vanilla zones really would have deserved the attention to detail they added with Cataclysm. Still remeber that zone from 2005/2006 and it was, like so many other zones, a mess with unattached quests and horribly long ways between flight points, just like Desolath and Stonetalon Mountain, was skipped so many times. Hell... im pretty sure i NEVER leved in Stonetalon besides a few sidequests. Only reason Feralas stick to my mind is cause of Diremaul, which had some pretty good loot, even for Raid Characters.
I prefer unfinished zones because they added to the feeling of mystery and sustainability Unlike theme park zones where every little corner was for some purpose and you just did the chores
I think it just became obvious that the maps are too small. Packed with hostile mobs, it becomes annoying. While Dire Maul always terrified me because it had tons of highest level mobs in the time of no dungeon maps it was no chance for a casual solo player like me. Presence of Dire Maul always impressed me, and the Feathermoon island was so mysterious too... They should have made one big world server for 10x upscaled world =100x population. But I don't care anymore.
damn i rememvber in vanilla pvping in feralas while grinding hypogryphs. I was a rogue and I was notorious for killling alliance on my server. Ah, the good ol days, i wonder if wow would ever go back to its roots. This makes me sad.
spent soooo muchhh time back in the glory days of vanilla in this zone between faming herbs , pvp , and running DM North for the Nostro's Compendium of Dragon Slaying on my warrior , never saw the darn book drop , finished buying it 800 G on the AH , the music in this zone always has me , thanks a lot meisio for your work
isn't the track playing around 22:10 the same one as in court of stars ( i hear something similar when you're unlocking the door before the last boss if i remember well) ?

if only when we died, we went to Feralas / Ashenvale.
Never have I imagined participating in these computer games, yet the beauty that you present tempts me.
Definitely give it a try. I must warn you though… if you enjoy it, it may very well become a part of your lifestyle. It’s magic.
A lot of open space with nothing really different of special in it these days.
Feralas has always been one of my favorite zones. It feels like it's on the edge of the world. Love the moody music they added in Cataclysm.
this where so calm zones with great quests, the pace was so different to what we have now days
Always loved these zones with the nightelf ruins. In feralas you can really feel the former presence of the once glorious empire.
I love all the laid-back elven and tauren music. It's all so peaceful and soothing.

Hehe, good one. Probably happened to us at least once with the robot-chicken quests :)
This deep Cello is so brilliant.. I can listen to it whole day weaving mystical sounds and not get bored by it.

Such a wild zone. I used to love it in classic. It’s always nice to see it with some changes, but the same essence. Thank you!

Oh wow, Cata Feralas has some absolutely beautiful tracks. Thank you for this once again!

Well done. Thanks for the story. I didn't know it flooded like Florida but makes sense as Deathwing passed by.

One thing I like about level scaling is being able to come to this beautiful lush place. I totally would camp here...with guardsman

If one of the upcoming expansions focused on Azeroth, I would be soooo excited!
Feral as what though? This zone's been teasing us forever now..
Just got autoplayed straight into this video 34 minutes after release, not bad at all.
Thanks! favorite music from this location.

Fairly decent thought. I agree.
I only wish they didn't sink the Isle of Dreed and perhaps added some quest there.

there were very few quest chains but a lot of scattered quests from other zones
also, alliance town is inconvenient
